Picked up some fresh home made tofu with sweet ginger sauce. Also couldn’t resist these green gelatin dessert that has soybean inside of them. Wow they are yummy

I would normally make this a four-star review but I’m docking a star for not having our entire order ready. We went in, days in advance, to pre-order(and pre-pay) for some deserts(chè) for the lunar new year. When I arrived to pick up the order, the whole order was not ready. To make matters worse I was not able to fully understand the problem(my bad for not speaking Vietnamese). All I could do is get my wife on the phone to translate. Solution was either refund, or wait. Since the wait was not that long, and we needed the food, I waited. Now to Viet Tofu’s credit, they did complete the order, but the extra time spent waiting threw my schedule for the day off a bit. The quality and taste of the chè is quite good(there are many varieties to choose from), and Viet Tofu has more than just sweets, i.e. spring rolls(goi cuon), sandwiches(bánh mì), tofu and other savory treats, but we mainly go for the sweets. Bottom line: It’s not a bad place, it’s just that it let us down a bit on this occasion. PS. Take-out only!

I saw this restaurant as was getting some asian groceries next door. I noticed that there is a Viet Tofu in Arlington but do not know if this a chain or a coincidence… anyway, I was not impressed. As you walked in, you can see tables of so many varieties of Thai«tapas» and sweets. Anything from flavored tofu, fish cakes, sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, spring rolls… skies the limit. However, as we got home and samples the goods, I was a little disappointed. The Banh Mi sandwich was not good and the bread was stale. The flavors were mediocre, so maybe I would not go back unless I want something cheap and quick.
