This place was great. It had all the ambiance of your rich aunt’s living room, without the annoying family members! To start, I had the beet appetizer which consists of beets, herbed goat cheese, melon balls and some micro greens. Fabulous! My dining partner had the pork belly app, crispy with a great broth type stuff it sat in. Also A plus. For our entrees I had the veal and lobster combo, and he had the crispy duck breast. Both were cooked to perfection. Our waiter was very attentive, although not too much so. The only little snafu I had was when I asked where the restrooms were and was directed(not by our waiter) to some strange upstairs bathroom that appeared to be for employees only.(hairspray bottle on sink etc) but that wasn’t enough to hinder my opinion on this place. Just a bit wierd. Food was awesome, service was great. Go get food here if you want a classy upscale dining experience!

We ordered 5 dishes. All were piping hot and perfect in themselves. The roasted olives with the bruschetta… we devoured. The Buffalo wings, spot on. The banana peppers stuffed with cheese, french onion soup and the jambalaya… the only regret I have is that we couldn’t finish everything. The server was friendly and attentive. I wish this restaurant was down the street and within walking distance of my house, but alas, it’s not since I live in Baltimore.

My wife and I attended Daniels 3 Martini Lunch on Sunday July 26th, It was FUN and EXCELLENT as well! How they come up with there ideas is a whole other topic, putting these ideas into motion is truly amazing. The day started with a «Soup and Sandwich» amuse bouche. It was a shot glass of roasted red pepper and tomato bisque with a tiny grilled cheese and olive skewer perched on top. The first martini was a basil, Grand Marnier, chambord mixture that went very well with the watermelon salad. Our second course was my wife’s favorite, I liked it very much too, but not as much as the 3rd course. The second course was«New England Lunch Break» with«Gazpacho Martini»(very Good), a lobster roll and Sam Adams steamed clams. After that we received an intermezzo of a berry yogurt«pop». Again very creative, refreshing and new twist. Now the star of the show…“The Bento Box”. It was served in a small wood box lined with Chinese newspaper(who thinks of this). In the Bento Box came stir fried forbidden rice and Vegetables, served in a Chinese take out container. along with chop sticks, a fortune cookie, exotic fruit cocktail, pork dumpling, and steak sushi. The steak was great as was the dumpling, but the rice was a beatiful blend of nutty, sweet, spicy and savory. «The Ginger Cosmopolitan Martini» was both our favorites. Dessert was«The Chocolate Club» with bacon-chocolate crumble… YUM. My hat goes off to the staff of Daniels. We spent a very enjoyable afternoon there and received a unbelievable experience. The creativity and flavors were fantastic. A wine dinner is set up for August, I think we’ll go!!!

Where to begin? Firstly, I’ve grown up in Buffalo and until tonight, I’ve never dined at Daniel’s and let me say, I’m filled with regret because my experience there tonight was perfect. I went with a group and we all had the Fixed menu — 3 courses for $ 32 — a steal of a deal, especially considering the exceptional quality of the prepared dishes. I had the Daniel’s Salad with watermelon, manchego cheese, tomatoes, dark greens and wrapped up with cucumber. Next was the duck with thyme risotto and it was delectable. The portion was quite generous and the meal was so rich in flavor. Finally, for dessert, the mouthwatering vanilla crème brûlée was the perfect finish. But no, our waiter, John(who was so nice, attentive and very knowledgable of the dishes), served us these gorgeous Godiva chocolate cocktails as a treat when he realized it was my birthday. Wow — what a restaurant! The service, the food(even the bread, which came hot out of the oven) is to die for. I will absolutely be coming back when I’m in next Buffalo!

Tuesday night at Daniels– another five star joint that I would have typically passed by without noticing. 2 ½ miles from the hotel. Empty tables when I walked in, but staff(host and waiters) looked ready — like it’s going to be busy soon. Reservation book was not empty. Seemed like everyone thru the door had a res tho. Table for one was easy for me at 6:45. Small place, later in the Eve or on a weekend it might be a problem. Call ahead, they seem to respect the res holder. Was seated next to phone and host so I had a good view of the front end operations. I may not of had the best tables, but my waiter Mark would not disappoint. Very professional, knowledgeable and up front with his advice(i.e. the cauliflower Gorgonzola soup apparently contains more than just a hint of the stinky cheese) when queried. I appreciated his guidance as this is my one chance to eat here, and I’d hate to mess it up. My Riesling by the glass was cold tasty and just tart enough to satisfy, not too sweet.($ 7) My choice is the Daniels salad, and the tenderloin w wild mushroom risotto and veg du jour(that’s the veg of the day) consisting of asparagus carrots and red pepper. Don’t like cooked carrots, but even this was yummy. The bourdalaise(sp?) sauce was delish as was the risotto. My bill, based in the restaurant week(actually one week prior) promo was $ 40.15 including one glass of house wine and dessert. I chose the trio of crème brûlée. One vanilla one chocolate and one earl grey. Although individually small, together they were enough. Vanilla and earl grey were my favs, wasn’t a fan of the chocolate. Although I did finish the crust it anyway. Very nice treat to find Daniel’s on a Tuesday. Very highly recommend this place. Enjoy your meal.

Visited recently with friends and loved the experience. Décor is modern and refined. Service was knowledgable, friendly and responsive. Food was creative and of very high quality. We took advantage of the fixed price menu(available Tues — Thurs) and were very pleased with the options and our meals. For $ 32 — it includes appetizer, entrée and dessert. Will definitely visit again.

My wife and I absolutely loved this place. We don’t do fine dining very often but surely will be returning to Daniels. The food was awesome, I would have licked my plate if it wasn’t a no no. Realize that this is fine dining and will cost accordingly. Rest assured it is worth every penny!

Such a fancy place to go to Dinner. We went a little over a month before it closed, The décor was spectacular, It was a really nice romantic place to dine at. The thing that drew me into coming here was there $ 32 Tasting Menu(Choosing from 5 Different: appetizers, entrees and desserts for just $ 32). My grandma and my uncle both got the same thing. Appetizer: Asparagus and Ricotta Ravioli with Mint, Lemon and Parmigiano-Reggiano(Pasta was homemade and I like the creaminess of the Ricotta Cheese),(my uncle ordered an additional appetizer, their homemade tomato basil soup), Entrée: Grilled Tuscan-style Sirloin Steak with Parmigiano-Reggiano, Lemon, Truffle Oil and roasted Fingerling Potatoes(They said that the Steak was Perfectly Cooked and they enjoyed the Potatoes very much) and for Dessert: a slice of Lemon Custard Tart(Simple, yet Delicious). For my tasting menu I ordered, Appetizer: Escargot baked in a homemade pasta sheet with roasted Garlic and Tomatoes(Tasty little Morsels)(I also ordered an additional appetizer of pan seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras on top of Brioche with Caramelized Apples and finished with an Iced Wine Reduction, A very Rich dish) Entrée: homemade Fettucini with Grilled Shrimp and Devil’s Sauce(it was spicy as Hell) and Beef Tenderloin with Horseradish Cream Sauce(Now this was an Amazing Surf n Turf) and for Dessert: Profiteroles(French Cream Puffs) filled with Caramel Ice Cream garnished with fresh tart Raspberries and topped with a bittersweet Chocolate Sauce(A Sweet Finish). Such a nice, elegant and sophisticated place to eat. I felt bad that it closed down but I’m glad that I got to experience it !!!

Understated elegance and quiet perfection. A setting that’s the perfect balance of old and new. Attentive(but not overly attentive) staff. And, a GREAT menu… with everything prepared just right. Not detail has been overlooked in this wonderful restaurant. And, yet it never appeared as though they were trying too hard. It all just worked. Two of us dined here last night. It’s a place that I’ve always wanted to try… and while eating my wonderful meal I wondered what took me so long to get here. There’s a terrific wine list, including great choices of wine by the glass. I started my meal with a glass of Grayson Cellars Chardonnay(2008). And my dining companion had the Edna Valley Cabernet(2007). Nice choices for single glasses. Wonderful WARM rolls were brought to the table after we placed our dinner order. The menu has a list of «specials» that’s as long as the«standard menu», and everything sounded so good that it was difficult for me to decide what to get. I ended up choosing the«Daniel’s Salad» …Belgian Endive, Radacchio, Arugula, Pears with Walnut Oil Vinaigrette as a starter. The salad also has Gorgonzola Cheese on it usually, but I had them omit it… just not my thing. The balance of the slightly bitter greens and the sweet pear and earthy nuts was amazing. A fantastic way to begin my meal. For my entrée I chose one of the specials, «Horseradish Crusted Salmon Fillet with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Leek Cream». I asked, and it is WILD salmon(yay!). Again the balance of flavors was just AMAZING. The fish was cooked perfectly and placed artfully on top of the potatoes. It was so beautiful that I was tempted to take a picture. The addition of perfectly cooked vegetables(zucchini, carrots, and asparagus) artfully rimming my plate was appreciated. My dining companion chose the seafood sausage as a starter and the fillet mignon as an entrée and was equally impressed. Everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The dessert menu was as impressive as the dinner menu. Many, many delicious sounding choices and everything is made in house(yippee!). The two of us chose the«Sampler Plate» to share… half portions of chocolate hazelnut cake, white chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce, and the most delicious lemon custard tart that I’ve ever had. WOW!

French-American cuisine at its finest. I eat here every time I am in town. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The wine list is good and the food is outstanding. The only problem I ever have is that I am not physically able to eat more!

Since rediscovering this fine food establishment, Hubby and I have made it our personal mission to dine here as often as possible. Last Tuesday I dabbled in appetizers… Oh how happy I was. FIGS!!! Yes, FIGS, stuffed with chevre, wrapped in prosciutto and topped with honey and balsamic. Oh My! On to my angel hair with Madeira Cream sauce with mushrooms. I am re-creating as I type. Off to Daniel’s tomorrow! YES! Wonderful food as it should be served.

I was shocked this place wasn’t better reviewed on Unilocal when I clicked on it. It’s really an amazing restaurant… the food is superb and the atmosphere is great. Upscale without being stuffy, the restaurant is an renovated older home in hamburg. It’s cute, and though the lights were a little bright for my taste but the atmosphere is comfortable and tastefully simple. We were able to call the evening we decided to try it and get a table, but every table was full most of the time we were there, so call ahead. The best evidence I have of this place’s greatness is the fact that nothing on the menu is cheap, yet I still left with the feeling that I got a bargain. Service was great. We’ll definitely be back.

This cozy little restaurant is across the street from my Mom’s house(yes, she lives in the plaza). My family has been going here for over 20 years, and its been a rite of passage to be able to experience a meal here. This is the first restaurant, where I got to drink my own glass of wine, ate foie gras, and have tasted their sinfully airy, buttery, and flaky rolls. I have never been disappointed coming here, every single detail is extremely thought out, from the décor to the food; diners are guaranteed a lovely fine dining experience that takes them away from the everyday.

Honestly, I’ve been to just about every fine dining restaurant in Western New York, and this is by far one of the best there is. Sitting just a block away from my parents house, this has been the go-to restaurants for family birthdays and celebration dinners for years. When I usually go, my family and I share as many appetizers, entrees. desserts and wines as possible – and nothing, I mean NOTHING has ever been less than amazing. If you’re looking for a romantic spot, this is definitely a winner, since it is small and cozy, though I would have to admit not good for more than 4(maybe 6) people. Beyond the food, the service is always impeccable. The staff is very knowledgable and helpful in trying to narrow down all their options :-) All around, a must-go for any foodie!
