As others have stated here, the quality of the food was fantastic here up until the day that the original owners sold the business. This is the third restaurant that they have owned and then sold in Western NY and the exact same thing happens every time. Within weeks of selling the business the food goes from fantastic to terrible. We are devastated. This was the best Chinese in Buffalo. We would drive from our home in the city specifically to get take out, return home, warm up the food and enjoy the wonderful taste and quality. I hope they open another restaurant in the area, we will be hunting for them. Bottom line is, there’s nothing worse that taking a bite of your cashew chicken only to find that you have a mouthful of grizzle. Ginger and Garlic will be closing in the near future, you can’t make it in the restaurant business serving food like this. Unfortunately, I have now had to tell all of my friends that the restaurant is under new ownership and my previous recommendation is no longer valid. Sad…

This is an update to my previous review. At the time, I said we’d be back to see if they’ve gotten any closer to the original quality of the place before the new owners took it over. Sadly, it’s gotten worse. Maybe we have different expectations as to how kung pao chicken should taste, but the dish we got in Thursday night’s takeout was so bad that none of us finished what was on our plates. They also forgot to give us sauces for the sweet and sour chicken and the dumplings. I called to let them know about the missing items and their response was«You can drive back out here and pick it up if you really want it.» No apologies or offer to make up for the inconvenience. We all agreed that we’ll have to find a different Chinese food place.

They have the best General Tsos chicken I have ever had here. It is very pricy though.

Give yourself plenty of time to Order takeout! Sometimes I have had to wait an hour and a half. Very good quality.

The easiest food grab when you don’t want to cook is Chinese food. Ever since Peking Quick One, I’ve been craving some Chinese, and I went here to satisfy that need. It’s right across the street from the Fairgrounds. The parking lot sucks. So many potholes. Anyway… I did Take Out, so I didn’t experience much of the Dining Area(which was just combined with where you pick up your food for Take Out), but it looked really cute. I would definitely sit down with a friend here. I might feel claustrophobic, but cozy at the same time. Didn’t fantasize on a cutesy lunch for too long though, I grabbed my food and ran. I sped home because I just wanted to devour everything(while carefully avoiding the potholes). I ordered Vegetable Fried Rice, a spring roll, Vegetable Lo Mein, and Hunan Chicken(General Tso’s). I think after ordering from Peking, everything else tastes kind of bland. The chicken, like one reviewer said, seriously tasted like they thawed out frozen chicken. I was too hungry at the time to taste much of the food, but upon having leftovers the next day, I was pretty unsatisfied. The Fried Rice was okay. I love fried rice, but wasn’t scarfing it from the container like I usually do. That Lo Mein though. :) :) :) I’m so happy I ordered it. The noodles were absolutely delicious and smooth. Seriously saved this review from a two. Go Lo Mein! And the spring roll… so tiny I almost cried. Come on, Ginger and Garlic. Everyone knows the spring roll is the best part…

Very close to perfect Chinese. You can tell they don’t just reheat the food. The dining room is tiny and not the best place to dine in but the take out is second to none in Buffalo.

Went here at the suggestion of friends in the area. Food is always cooked to order, and has been consistently good. The interior is small with a few small tables, I always order takeout. Their hours vary by day, so be sure to check ahead of time. I’m happy to have found this place, Wegman’s overpriced Chinese has since been scratched from my list.

What awesome little place. I stopped for lunch, on a quiet weekday. The lady hostess and waiter was most accommodating. I had the basic lunch of hot and sour soup and a spicy beef special. Both exellent! Prices reasonable too! I am from out of town here so a Unilocal review sent me here. Thanks Unilocal

Kenny has been cooking up WNY’s best Chinese for over 25 years. Highly recommend the Hunan Chicken, Broccoli & Garlic, Chicken & Garlic, oh hell, it’s all great. Try it, you’ll love it.

Great Chinese food, however I wouldn’t recommend eating in! It is so tiny that you are basically eating on someones lap or table! Unless, you like that then that is the place for you!

The General Tso’s chicken is Tyson or Banquet frozen chicken bites that are fried and doused in flavorless sauce. I was really excited to try this after reading all the«this place is the best ever» reviews. It appears that they’re probably just fake reviews since they’re all from new users.

My wife and I love this small quant resturant The food was made fresh to order and served Hot! I have eaten in allot of Chinese places and it ranks in my top 10! Service is excellent and friendly. My tip to anyone that goes there is try the garlic sauce dishes. Mmmm! Delish.

Awesome food! The other places don’t come close to the food here. Flavor sand textures are so much better. Even the take out containers are better, not the cheap tin and plastic. The lo mein is great and the crab Rangoon are delicious. Never had a bad meal here. Not much for seating here but the takeout is great. Def check this place out you won’t be sorry.

We have gotten takeout here four times. Consistently good. Lo mein was great Crispy duck was great, I’d recommend trying it! It is very crispy and slightly spicy. Garlic and curry sauces were great. Meats in above sauces were great The only dish I was not thrilled with was General Tsaos chicken. I will be back

I’m not a big fan of most Chinese food — greasy, bland, fatty. I’m a big fan of Ginger & Garlic’s food — light, tasty, spicy. I have not sat at the restaurant(take out only), but the servers were nice, food was hot and ready at the promised time(~20 minutes). This place makes me look forward to getting Chinese food(vice dreading it).

Nobody can deny the occasional charm of crappy sesame syrup covered chunks of chicken, greasy noodles, and gamey dumplings, but Ginger and Garlic is, all the way, 100% great chinese food. Their chicken? Spicy, garlicy, season and only lightly pan fried, amazingly tastefull. Their«Singapore Noodle»? An amazing dry noodle dish in what tastes of spicy, almost curry like powder, with delicious, fresh vegetables. Dumplings, boiled, baked, or fried, fresh and amazing. This next sentence is in no way meant to have negative connotations, but when I was told one day that they ran out of dough to make dumpling wrapping with, I thought, «Wow, when was the last time anyone’s ever heard of freshly wrapped dumplings at a take out place?» Ginger and garlic is a Triple A place, and a bright light in a world of crappy chinese restaurants.
