Food was good, but unfortunately the experience was terrible. We were in from out of town and dining with a group of 8. We had a reservation and after 50 minutes the waitress announced we needed to leave as they had another party waiting for our table. I don’t think I will be back on my next visit to town.

I had a great experience, a Wednesday afternoon a friend of mine and myself stopped in on a walk and had lunch, we both ordered the western burger and WOW it was so good!!! I wasn’t expecting it from there I don’t normally get blown away at west end, it’s usually just a quick stop because I live so close, but this burger was amazing, it was cooked just over temp but not too bad, the bun was toasted and sopped up some of the grease, and grease isn’t always good, but in this case it was sooo good and greasy, lots of bacon and cheese and onion straws and BBQ sauce, I was blown away with each bite. Definitely one of my favorite burgers of all times, hope it’s as good next time I go!

This is an AWESOME restaurant! From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, you will be in Food Heaven. First of all, the décor is great. A real rustic atmosphere which brings immediate comfort and relaxation. You can sit in the bar or the beautiful period styled dining room. Antique washed tables and wood floors, this is the place to KICKBACK. And the menu – great drinks if you imbibe – but I’m all about the food. Please – go on Friday especially. The fish fry is to DIEFOR. Fresh as can be and beer battered to tasty perfection, you will ravish up this huge portion of fresh haddock. The sides are phenomenol. Lazy pierogi – pasta, sauerkraut, mushrooms – would be deicious on its own! Also the cole slaw and macaroni salad are as homemade as you can get. I ordered sweet potato fries instead of regular cut fries, and they were tasty as could be, with honey butter on the side. Great coffe and excellent warm pumpkin pie for dessert, this is a place where you eat and don’t eat again til the next day – not only because you are full but because you are SATISFIED. GORUNGETTHERE!

I have a sentimental attachment to the West End. The first time I ate here, my Grammy took my then boyfriend(now husband) and I for some local Buffalo eats. The hubby, being from the South had never had a Beef-on-Weck and had never had truly good, authentic wings(though he might claim differently – Hooters does NOT count, sorry). My Gram died the day after my husband proposed to me – and I never did get to tell her my great news. Anyway, we make a visit to the West End every time we are in town. It had been closed for at least a year and I am unspeakably happy that it has been brought back to life. The food is great – I had the mini Beef-on-Weck with a side of wings. Exceptional – juicy roast beef, great little weck roll, and the wings were crispy and well-sauced(I wish I could have been well-sauced). The kids split a half-pound cheeseburger. I, of course, had to sample this cheeseburger, as I am something of a cheeseburger snob – tremendous. Very juicy, well-seasoned, good cheese – just a really great burger. The fries were nothing to write home about, but they were cooked well. I’m not a big fan of the décor in the dining room – it is pretty hideous. But the bar is nice, feels like your corner joint, which I happen to really like. An easy, comfortable vibe. They do catering & banquets, too. Stop in for some of your favorite local foodstuffs – they do a great job and deserve to stay in business a very, very long time.
