Went with the family to check them out over the Thanksgiving long weekend. «M&E» is Mark, the son, and Eric, the dad. We spent a nice hour or two with Eric, who gave some excellent teaching and pointers to two first-time shooters and took us on a brief tour(two boxes of shells among three people, probably about 50 – 60 targets) of their skeet range and sporting clay stations. Pretty solid fun, and the course wasn’t crowded at all. They’re a new outfit, just started up in early summer 2013, using land that belongs to Wing Pointe but with new equipment(fully automatic) and regular change-ups of the stations to keep things interesting. Eric’s stated goal is to turn over at least five stations weekly on an ongoing basis. Not cheap, $ 50 per person, but that did include $ 40 worth of lesson fee. If you brought your own gun and shells it’d be reasonably economical. I do think the lesson ought to involve a bit more pointer on firearms safety for the novice. Nothing unsafe happened, but it’s the old Boy Scout camper in me that wants everyone to get a big ol’ lecture before he/she gets to put hands on a weapon.
