Let me start out by saying that I have just about no baseline for comparison as I’m a semi-new homeowner and this was my first issue with a furnace. And I’m glad I didn’t read the previous reviews — recommended or not — prior to dealing with these guys, because they were great. This started when our tenants called to let us know their furnace wasn’t working. We went over and did some trouble shooting as outlined on a sticker on the furnace. No luck. The internet wasn’t any more helpful. The next day we called the number on the furnace and it led us to One Hour. The technician was out within the provided timeframe. I wasn’t there for it, but my co-owner kept me in the loop the whole time. The technician sounded a little nervous, but was knowledgable and helpful. After performing some diagnostic tests(and showing my co-owner along the way), it was determined that we needed a new furnace. Not news we were excited about, but we also weren’t too surprised based on the age and upkeep of the original. My co-owner and the technician reviewed some options based on the size of the home and called me to help with the final decision. We opted for the mid-level version that has high energy efficiency score and came with a rebate(amoung other features). Because this all happened on a Friday, we had to wait until Monday to get the furnace and have the work done. Luckily it wasn’t too cold over the weekend, so a few space heaters were sufficient to get the tennants through. On Monday, the men installing the furnace and thermostat showed up within the timeframe provided and walked us through what they would be doing and what we should expect. We didn’t hear from them for a few hours, and then they were done. They completed the work within the timeframe provided(notice a trend here!) and without any issue. After the work was completed, we were once again walked through what was done and we reviewed next steps on their end and our end. The work was clean and looks great, and I fully understand what I need to do going forward to care for the unit. Like I said at the begining, I don’t have anything to compare this experience to. However, I have no complaints and plan to call them for any other issues(and for my regular maintenance to make sure there are no issues!).

In the Spring of 2011 the hydrostat on my daughter’s boiler for baseboard heat failed causing the unit to overheat and the relief valve to discharge. My son in law called this establishment and they were there in one hour. They replaced the hydrostat and called the job done without properly purging the air from the system. My son in law purchased an addition deal where they would«maintain» the system. The unit would barely heat the first floor and the 2nd floor was too cold. On a return call they said since the boiler would not maintain pressure it needed replacing as it could not be repaired. Since it was the end of the heating season it could wait. In the Fall of 2011 I replaced the expansion tank/filtroll valve, relief valve and air vent. After properly purging the air from the system it worked as well as it did some 30 years ago on installation. The parts for this repair were less than $ 100. As a consequence of the«maintenance deal» they returned and admitted the boiler was working correctly and it _still_needed replacing because it was old and inefficient. They did no diagnostic to rate the efficiency of the unit what so ever. Given the price of natural gas has dropped considerably the return on such an investment seemed meager at best. These scoundrels should never be hired to maintain any hot water baseboard heating system. They also had the mendacity to put a «Ben Franklin the Punctual Plumber» sticker on the gas fired water heater! 4÷19÷2014 — Two heating seasons later and this boiler unit is operating flawlessly.
