Arthur Murray Dance Studio

We’ve had a great experience so far at Arthur Murray and can’t wait to see what more we can learn. We started with the Intro package and then purchased a 5-​private lesson package mixed with practice sessions and group classes. We’ve worked with Chris mostly and also Dave as instructors. The instructors are professional yet kind, interesting, and fun. Everyone we’ve met both staff & students has been very nice and helpful in learning the art of dance!

Where to begin?
If even the smallest part of you is considering signing up for dance lessons, do it! You won’t regret it, and Arthur Murray Hamden is the best place to learn.
I was immediately comfortable at the studio, not only because I’m a lifelong dancer, but also because of how wonderful the staff is at making everyone feel welcome. Whether you’ve danced for years or never been brave enough to try, you will feel welcome and comfortable.
The great news for someone like me who has been dancing for a long time is the depth of knowledge the staff possesses. The instructors know how to challenge me, make sure that I am continuously learning, and really care about my progress. The staff also knows how to adapt their teaching style to each individual student and their specific needs. You are treated as an individual and there is no ‘one-​size-​fits-​all’ approach.
An unexpected, but very welcome bonus, is the great sense of community offered at Arthur Murray Hamden. A shared love of dance provides an instant connection, but real friendships are quickly forged. This isn’t just a place where people practice a hobby, it’s also a place where you will meet wonderful, caring people. Personally, I can’t imagine the past year and a half of my life without this studio, the people I’ve met, the fun I’ve had, and of course all the dancing!

Arthur Murray in Hamden is an Amazing Dance Studio. My Wife and I took advantage of a Groupon Offer for 2 Private and 2 group classes. I was thinking we’ll use the Groupon and then never come back.
Imagine How surprised I was when I found the classes to be amazingly fun! David, our Instructor, is Hilarious and a great teacher. We have signed up for the follow on curriculum and I’m happy to say that I think I can now consider myself an intermediate dancer.
The other regular instructors, Sandy and Kevin, are likewise amazing and very knowledgeable. They, along with David, Have formed a close knit group of people into a very tight community that make coming to dance class fun! An example of how great this is is group class. Now many people, and i was among them, think group classes are awkward and weird: You go to dance with your partner, not with other people! but with this group it’s not weird at all and very helpful!
I would suggest Arthur Murray Hamden to anyone who thinks they might want to dance. My wife and I will most likely continue to attend Arthur Murray Hamden even if we move out of the area. You will be surprised with how fun classes are and how quickly you will change from a non-​dancer to someone who can glide around the floor with ease.
