I’ve been a customer of this consignment shop for about 10 years now. Consignment shops for children are not all created equal– trust me, I’ve been to ‘em all! Some stock what looks like tag-sale leavings, but not this one! This shop has merchandise that reflects it’s name” good as new”! The owner and her staff carefully look over each item that is brought in, and if it has a tiny hole, a spot, or is found on the most current re-call list, then it isn’t accepted. Current trends in fashion, toys, and jewelry can be found here from infants to teens, with some great maternity items, too! This place kept me looking good through my pregnancy, and several friends have utilized both maternity and baby items I’ve purchased here. The owner is hugely supportive of her community, and donates unsold stock to local organizations and classrooms. One city classroom uses her toy items as a motivational store– if kids earn«tickets» for doing the right thing during the week, they can«purchase» items! My daughter is now 11 and my son is 7 and both have grown up wearing clothes from Good As New. I feel great because not only am I getting great clothing(often by designers I couldn’t ordinarily afford) at great prices, but I’m also«reusing» and hopefully making some sort of incremental environmental impact! Stop by the Whitney Ave location(behind Mt. Carmel Spirits) or their new location on Washington Ave. in North Haven– you won’t be disappointed!
