Wine Merchants

I always pick this place over any other liquor store in the area. I always find something new to try and am impressed with the wide variety of wine and liquors they sell. The prices are great. The owner is really kind and most helpful man. I also love how they check IDs religiously. The only reason why I left out a star is this one time I went and found this awesome new honey vodka + wine drink. It was so new that one of the workers needed to call the owner to figure out how to put it in the system. It showed a bit of unorganization but they helped me it the nicest way possible. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

went for an event today. horribly planned and executed. a complete failure. no organization or control of the crowd. when planning an event of that magnitude they should have been prepared for the amount of people that would come. i would never ever shop here ever again.

Do not support bad behavior and service. I ordered ¼ keg. I went to go pick up and no one could ring it or get it. They claimed they didn’t know which was mine. I had to wait an hour for a manager to show up. I was told by the manager that the owner decided to order for me, he selected Bud instead of Miller, and light instead of the standard beer. I asked for a discount as I was not Called and told, I was told No. Think twice here! I didn’t bother to buy my other liquor here because of it. No stars here, bad customer service from all employees.

I like this place. They’ve got a good selection at competitive pricing. Staff are friendly enough and the place is clean and well organized. Nuff said.

How can you have a business and NEVER answer the phone?

I happened upon this store in Hamden plaza while looking for a good bottle of wine.
The place was busy with people getting everything from liquor to beer to wine.
The store is huge and situated right next to wal mart. There are a large number of all types of wines, mostly arranged by type. There are signs to help guide you. There is also a large variety of liquors and even some hard to find commodities! Towards the back of the store is the beer, both refrigerated and not, bottles and cans. More than once I have found shock top (my favorite beer) seasonal varieties in stock and refrigerated! There is also a walk in beer cooler that has most of the domestic beers and a few others.
Walking towards the front again one will find the champagne as well as additional refrigerator with seltzer and other non alcoholic items. And almost always, there are a couple of shopping carts with sale items, always worth going through. I’ve found some really good steals in these carts!
They have the typical little bottles as well as the really fancy liquor behind the counter. They also take credit cards as well as cash. The staff is always nice. Come and check it out!
