ACME Markets

Clean, well stocked, variety, very good produce and affordable pricing. I tend to shop late evenings, don’t use coupons and don’t need a massive selection or packed isles so this Acme works out well for me. Went to SR one morning and though I would get stampeded by the herd of seniors. I like my shopping to be practical and less stressful.
Really like most of the BOGO pricing on select items. While I use Walmart for many basic day to day non-​food purchases and some food items, the bulk of my other food purchases are from Acme and has been so for many years.

Disclaimer: I’m more of a SR guy, it ran in the family. And now that Wegs is in the area, that surpasses both choices. A Unilocal friend prompted me to revisit this Acme, a location I hadn’t been to in years.
I came in the early afternoon, it was pretty dead. The store was neat and clean though, and laid out pretty much as I remembered it. I liked the produce section, and that they had some competitively priced items. The meat department had some kind of a buy 1 get 1 sale. Sales are great but not if they are being used to move oldish perishables. Seafood looked ok, but based on prices it seemed as if many items were previously frozen. If I get reckless I may try the scallops, common sense advises me not to though. A smaller deli than I am used to, and higher prices. Throughout the rest of the store I noticed many items I buy at SR or Wegs are more expensive here.
The criteria I rate supermarkets on are as follows: 1) Quality of perishable items. 2) Prices 3) Overall shopping experience. Prices in supermarkets are usually dependent on volume, and that is really lacking here. So I would stick with SR for staples. The best thing I can say about this store is that it was easy to shop at. I’m rounding up slightly to 3 Unilocal,and might come here to check out produce prices before doing the rest of my shopping elsewhere.

I am a late-​night shopper, and this Acme has the hours I need — open ²⁴⁄₇. Besides that, it’s a very large store, bright and clean, well stocked (with a better selection of countless things than many other local Acme Markets have). The night crew people are very nice. Prices are better than they’ve ever been. Just love this store!

I find the prices good and always a good selection. It’s not one of your next generation mega fancy grocery stores but it does the trick.
