My fourth year here and still a fan. Of the previous visits this one was the least well attended, I’m not really sure why? Possibly pope related? Weather was slightly cloudy but no rain, and the coolish temps made for a more comfortable atmosphere I felt the food choices although plentiful were less varied and tasty than the last 2 years. No doubt due in part to the absence of a few choice restaurants(I’m looking at you Elements!) If any businesses are reading this, keep in mind that what you serve here can affect your ability to draw attendees to your restaurant. There is a local Italian restaurant that I was aware of but haven’t been to, their offerings of various pizzas and a ravioli dish will most likely earn them a visit from us. Unfortunately there were several places that I will not be interested in trying for the same reason. The drink options are as good as ever, possibly even better than previous years. It is not an exaggeration to say that you can chose from 100’s of wines, 50 ish beers, and 20 plus assorted spirits(very good scotch and cognac choices among them) Music was great this year, 2 examples were the Klezmer band in the beer garden, and an excellent jazz/swing band at the gazebo. The later of which inspired Seward Johnson to bust a move. Another improvement to this year’s event was the amount of artists displaying and creating their works. Fans of art, wine, beer, and food should consider attending this event in 2016 if they’ve never been. It is sure to be an interesting and fun time, that also benefits a great sculpture park that does NOT get any assistance from the government.
