Food was not eat able service sucked manager was rude nasty disrespectful way over priced for the lack of quality. It was like eating can dog food.

Nice atmosphere. Prices comparable to this type of restaurant. My husband liked his barcola burrito. My Arroz con Camerones was soso. I don’t like onions and peppers, which it was heavily loaded with. This was not mentioned on the menu. However I was able to pick around the onions and peppers. What I did eat had a wonderful flavor.

Americanized Mexican food… really expensive for what you get. I have been here way too many times… usually for lunch. If you get a meat dish, don’t count on much meat being in it… I think I counted 4 pieces of chicken in my last lunch… ummm, huh? most Mexi-places are like 98% meat! Too much red pepper flakes in every single item from the salsa to the refried beans(see other persons review… guess they saw those flakes in everything too… I think these are what give you the amazing dragon breath for 2 days after!). This is the only Mexican place I have been to that put these pepper flakes on everything(not sure if they are on dessert items, and I didn’t see them in the tequilla shots, so I may have exaggerated slightly). I know this place is packed on the weekends… but just ins’t for me… I prefer the hole-in-the-wall scary looking local Mexican places way better! I will say the Patron was good and they have good service and super nice servers :)

Love the food, and the staff. We eat here often. I LOVE chicken Norteno. The vegetables are slightly crunchie, and the cheese sauce lovely. Hubby orders something different each time, and most always likes his choice.

Well let’s start with how we were told how the menu described a dish wasn’t exactly how we were going to get it. Then the lunch fajitas were covered in red pepper! Really, most places will let you know if it’s spicy, & usally fajitas are all about the wonderful original flavor of the meat and veggies. Needless to say I will never come here again.

El mariachi is the best restaurant in Hamilton. The staff is great, friendly, fast and treat you like family. I’ve never had a bad meal here and we go here… a lot.

I don’t know why they call this El Mariachi #2 because this place is definitely #1! HAHAHahaha but no, seriously. They’re pretty good. Don’t pay attention to the crazy lady’s review who doesn’t know how to use periods — I am an educated and handsome man who has graduated high school and I will tell you how to have the REAL El Mariachi experience: First off, are you a pregnant woman or a child? If so, then skip this part, but if not, you need to order a margarita. Because you are probably not a person of authentic mariachi heritage, they will try to bring you a ‘normal’ sized margarita, for weak Americans. Put a stop to that right away, and tell the guy that you want a big margarita, like for a real desperado. I used to come here a lot, and one time the guy still tried to act like they didn’t have a large size, but they do, and if you insist long enough they’ll figure it out. After this they will bring you a real margarita — big enough to get pretty wasted on, and they don’t skimp on the tequila either, so you’re gonna have a good time. Now open the menu. They have a lot of fancy things with lots of pictures to help you out, so go ahead and look at those, but here’s a tip: That margarita you’re drinking is gonna turn anything you eat into an incredible feast, so just turn the page right to the combos and save yourself like, $ 5. Heck — that’s enough for a desert margarita! The combos are good and cheap and you’re gonna be happy with that. Now, for desert: If you followed my instructions, then by now you are too full for desert. If you’re still hungry, you probably need to cut down on the food anyway. Either way, I’ve never had their desert so I can’t comment on it. That’s about it. The service has always been good here, and the people are friendly enough. They have lots of large booths and that’s a good way to experience this place, and makes it easier to stay seated after your giant margarita. They also have a nice deck for when it’s warm outside, so give that a shot too.

Look, the food here is super legit. Order something yummy, not just a quesadilla or some tacos. The carne de puerco is soooooo yummy. Omg. It’s sinful. And the carnitas, yes, just yes. My boyfriend prefers the seafood enchiladas, and I have tried them and agree, they are very good. Try them if you like seafood and need something new and exciting. Complementary chips and salsa, and they aren’t shy about refills. I really love the Texas style margaritas on the rocks, talk about delicious. You’ll always catch me here drunk and happy with a belly full of tequila. The service here is always excellent. The owner of the place is a true gentleman. I’ve heard people speak negatively about this place, and I don’t get it. I’ve tried many Mexican restaurants in the area, but I always find myself stacking them up against El Mariachi. In fact, the only better Mexican food I’ve ever personally had comes from the two Mexican women whom I work with. Really, carnitas or the carne de puerco, and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Love this place.

We had a really good experience there. The food was good, the margaritas were good, it all came out quickly, and the price was ok. $ 65 for four people including 2 drinks. Keep in mind it’s a Mexican place. Not«fine dining» but for Mexican it’s first rate. Give it a try.

I just love El Mariachi. I can’t recall a single time I’ve been disappointed or even slightly dissatisfied. The restaurant is always clean, it doesn’t matter what day or time we visit. The service is always good. This visit was no exception. We were quickly greeted and seated, as always. I really couldn’t tell you if they serve authentic or americanized mexican food. I really have no idea. What I do know is that I love it. If we can’t decide on what to have for dinner, we end up here. If it’s been a bad day… no, if it’s been a really horrible wipe-it-from-my-memory kind of day, we end up here. Not only do they serve the best chips(the salsa is just kind of meh), but their fried chimichanga is my favorite comfort food. I never order anything else from the menu. Speaking of comfort, they also serve the tastiest strawberry margaritas. It’s one of those delicious gigantic margaritas that makes you think ordering a second one is a really good idea. This is a four star review because, as much as I love this restaurant, it’s pretty standard fare, but nothing to write home about. It’s just a comfortable, local favorite for us and I can’t think of one negative thing to say about it.

Best thing on the menu in my opinion is the Fried Chimichanga. Margaritas are strong, but are also really really good. Never have been disappointed going here, never felt like I was splurging money either.

I love this place! The service is mostly great and the food is pretty good. The margaritas are delicious, and strong, so be careful! Visit when you can sit outside on the deck – 8 pm in the summer is amazing! There’s sometimes an abrasive woman working at the register, but she’s pretty nice once you get to know her.

I was craving some chips and salsa, so this place was recommended. I got the flautas verdes, which were really good, though I’ve had better green sauce. The texas margarita is delicious! It was on the rocks(I prefer them that way) and super tasty! The only problems we had were with our service, which could have just been the result of a bad day. We didn’t get chips and salsa until the second time the waitress came around, and the first time she came around, she seemed to get really frustrated with us because we weren’t sure which margaritas we were going to have. Other than that, this place wins.

I was very dissapointed in our service last night. There were 11 of us. Our waiter forgot several drinks and silverware. We had our food five minutes before our silverware and when we asked for it he threw it all in the middle of the table(where most of us could not reach). He never smiled once and acted very irritated. We were not a bad crowd! Food was good, as usual. This server has been there for many years and he continues to act this way. Very upsetting!

Decent Mexican food with great service. I have never been served a bad meal, and some are outstanding. The service has always been spot-on, and the drinks(particularly the margaritas) never left me disappointed. My favorite Mexican joint in Hamilton, hands down.
