On a hot summer night, you will wait forever… but it is worth it. The soft serve is DELICIOUS. I always get the chocolate and vanilla swirled. The prices aren’t too bad and the service is friendly. You can walk up to the windows or you can go through their drive-thru. Last time we were there, I think we waited for almost an hour in the drive-thru line. But again, worth it.

I have been going to Flub’s since I was a wee lad and since they didn’t have any paint on their building. It has always been a great place for inexpensive and awesome ice cream. PROTIP: Even if you are an adult, you can pretend that you are buying ice cream for a little kid and tell them you want googly eyes on it and they will do it, and nobody will be the wiser except for you.

We happened to be in the Hamilton area, which gave me the perfect excuse to try Flubs. It’s been on my list of things to do ever since reading about it on Unilocal. When I first turned into the parking lot, imagine my dismay to see a building boarded up looking all condemned-ish. Nooooo! Oh, wait, snap… Apparently that’s the old Flubs, right next door is another building housing the current Flubs. Disaster averted! We parked and sauntered over to the walk up window. The staff member was amazing. Patient, helpful. I ordered a cyclone and my son got a zebra with eyes. The ice cream was yummy and satisfying. No icky fakey aftertaste. We sat in the shade on some picnic benches set up in the parking lot. Not very pretty, but still, not complainging about a place to sit! Here’s where it gets even better. My son is taking his sweet time and bam, loses his ice cream. Of course, being 3, he’s a hott mess(yes, with two t’s). I walk up to the window again, ready to pay for another cone, this time a «baby»(I love that they have«baby» and«kiddie» — two sizes of ice cream for the kiddos, because often a normal kid’s cone is still too much for my little guy), just to let him finish his cone. The staff members were beyond sweet. Once they heard that he’d lost his cone, hence the reorder, they poured on the nice-ness. They could see my guy was upset. They ended up making it all better with a free baby cone with 4 eyes in a cup. My son finally calmed down, and I was grateful. Again, you cannot beat that level of customer service!

Ah Flubs… I remember walking there after school on hot summer days when the season started. My friends and I would be so excited that Flubs was open because that meant that spring was finally here! We would walk to the little window in the building waiting for it to open and have the old familiar sweet smells float out to us. Waffle Cones have an unmistakable smell, and I think it can make everyone smile on the longest of days. I would get some sprinkled concoction that looked like it’d been dipped in a rainbow, or a banana split on my ambitious days. That banana boat would come out with the cherries on top and my day was made right then and there. There is just something about a creamy whip that makes the little kid resurface in all of us. Eating a cone and watching the ice cream drip on the black top, licking it off your fingers. Man… it definitely makes me smile. They have a couple of picnic tables next to the building too in case you have a messy concoction that you’d like to eat there. Flubs has stayed true to it’s roots, and although they have expanded on some items they haven’t changed much and for once, that’s a good thing. I enjoy their blizzard creations, and even just a simple chocolate dipped cone from Flub’s. If you’re looking for your old creamy whip type of place and not a big box franchise, you won’t be disappointed with Flub’s. It’s typically always busy, and for good reason. The nostalgia factor is one reason I go, but my sweet tooth drags me over there at times throughout the year as well. When they close for the season, I’ll be asking… «Is it spring yet???»

I’ve passed this place a number of times and since the snow and ice is gone, I thought it was time to have a treat. It was a bit busy. I thought that there were more vehicles than people. Of course, where else do people go in Hamilton for soft serve? I’ve never seen a Dairy Queen. I’ve never seen a Baskin-Robbins or a Cold Stone Creamery – although I suspect the latter is available in Fairfield at Bridgewater Commons. I got a medium($ 2.50, and it was larger than expected) cup of black and white – what they call a twist here – chocolate and vanilla. I wasn’t expecting New Jersey style custard(I could hope!) but I got some really great soft serve ice cream that didn’t let me down. Being that I have an allergy to milk, the risk was worth it, and surprisingly, I’m not having a problem. That’s amazing, and it tasted great! They give a totally different meaning to Flubbing it up!

Truly a Hamilton treasure! I visited Ohio a year ago, and even now, every time I crave soft-serve ice cream, I think of Flub’s. I love how the workers are friendly, there are so many flavors and combos to chose from, and all of the customers are happy(well, of course they are, they’re eating Flub’s). I’ve had the #1 Flub’s fudge ripple, #14 Jodie’s chocolate banana, and a Float — Pineapple ice cream with Pepsi. Didn’t think I would like pineapple ice cream, but it’s pretty good! They even put little«eyes» candies on the small chocolate for my baby niece. Hmm, I wonder if they ship to California…

My favorite thing to look forward to when visiting my family in Ohio is FLUBS! I won’t go in to detail about how awesome it is, people have already gone in to enough detail below me :) If I had one wish right now, it would be to bring Flubs to Texas! hehe :)

I haven’t had Flub’s in 22 years, but every single time I eat ice cream, I think of Flubs and wish I could have it instead. Some of my best childhood memories involve that place. You won’t regret trying it if it hasn’t changed since I’ve been. All my old friends still in the area tell me it hasn’t changed. Thanks for the amazing ice cream and wonderful memories.

Flub’s is the gold standard in creamy whips, and for that reason, it was our favorite stop on our family tour of ice cream places this summer. Flub’s soft serve is great. Dense and super creamy. It was, by far, the best ice cream we tasted all summer. The serving sizes are also rather large, and the prices are really rather cheap. They also have an amazing selection. The highlight? They have over 30+ cyclone options on the menu! Unlike most other ice cream places, this place doesn’t just throw some pre-fabricated, store-bought candy bits into soft serve. These are creative and truly homemade combinations. For example, the #28, «Kara’s Smores,» is filled with warm marshmallow, graham cracker pieces, and chocolate dip top. It was out of this world good! With this kind of quality, you’d expect that Flub’s gets pretty busy on summer days, and you’d be right. However, Flub’s totally has their stuff together. The parking lot is large. They have both walk-up windows and a drive-thru, and they have plenty of friendly staff ready to handle the crowds. In addition, with touch screen POS computers and the ability to take credit cards, they’re pretty hi-tech and efficient for the creamy whip world. I can’t think of a bad thing to say about this place. They are definitely a 5-star spot. Unlike Tucker’s in Mason, the drive to Hamilton for Flub’s is 100% worth it. This should be a must-do on everyone’s summer list!

A Hamilton staple indeed. This place has such good ice cream. The quality is very high, the portions are big, and the flavors unique. It’s early September and I got the pumpkin flavor — it seriously tastes like eating a slice of pumpkin pie. Delicious! This is the type of family-run place I’d frequent over a chain store such as Cold Stone. Also, next time you’re in Kroger check the ice cream aisle, as Flub’s is now in some stores.

Flub’s has long been a staple of my family’s ice cream needs. Having grown up not too far from Hamilton, my friends and I would often visit to enjoy some delicious ice cream! When I was little I would often annoy my mom by asking her on a daily basis«Is Flub’s open yet for the summer?!?» It’s that good. My favorite is always their soft serve. They have several flavors each day that are creative and delicious. If you can’t decide which you’d like, they’re happy to give you more than one flavor. I’ll admit that the place doesn’t look that great from the outside but that just adds to its charm in my opinion. This is definitely a place that you can’t judge by its looks. It is very small and has a walk-up window where you place your order. Last time I visited there was not much seating available so you may have to get creative(and be slightly uncomfortable) if you want to enjoy your treat there, but believe me when I say that it’s totally worth it. If you’re in Hamilton, make sure to stop by Flub’s. Heck, drive to Hamilton to get it!!!

My kids are obsessed with Flub’s and the whole family enjoys their ice cream & mixes. Softserve creations galore. When we are visiting Hamilton, we hit Flub’s at least a couple times, and we’re heading there again today! If you are within 15 miles of Hamilton and want some fun ice cream, it’s worth the trip.

Few things bring me back to Hamilton more than Flub’s. I worked here while in high school & college, so I’m somewhat addicted. I’ve searched Columbus for a cure, but I’m still looking. Nothing can satisfy my Flub’s cravings. The(un)fortunate part about working there is that I like some strange combinations that are difficult to explain to the newer workers. But even the simplest combination will satisfy my craving. I’m still hoping Brian & Jodie will expand to Columbus & let me run that location.
