Really good food, made completely fresh just for us. The staff were super friendly and nice too!

Order a catered meal from here for a company event. From what I’ve heard from everyone in attendance, it was amazing. I had two people tell me that it was the best food they’ve ever had. We had chicken Marsala, mashed potatoes, salad, rolls and broccoli/carrots. He delivered exactly on time and we will be using this service for every meeting now I’m sure. Finally some great food is available in Hamilton!

Arrival: We arrived about 7:30AM on a Thursday. We walked straight to the counter and were immediately greeted by the head chef who was friendly and very eager to introduce us to all they offered. There were four other people actively eating at the time. Seating: seat yourself Location: Directly across the street from Mehas music and a few doors down from the Almond Sisters Bakery(Yet another shining star in downtown Hamilton). Drinks: There is a coffee bar that is also self-serve. Decaf and caffeinated options were available. The coffee was fresh and very tasty. The cups were smaller than your average mug so be sure to refill once or twice. Ordering: We placed our orders at the counter and paid immediately using the iPad/square they had. While we were waiting for the food we grabbed our coffees and toured the store. There are some great selections of food items as well as a wide variety of antique items throughout the shop. From World War II military jackets to ancient video cameras and projectors, it was an unexpected treat. Food: I ordered the breakfast burrito and potatoes it comes with. The portions were just right. It was made exactly as it comes. I did not place any special requests. I did not eat quickly and was pleasantly surprised that the temperature remained hot throughout the meal, down to the last bite. The mix of flavors throughout the Burrito were very good especially with the avocado salsa and sour cream a top all the rest. The potatoes are cooked like home fries and were crisp on one or two sides exactly how I like them. This was the first meal I ate all day and did not leave wanting more. Although, because it was so good we will definitely be returning with friends and family. Cleaning up: We placed our own dishes in the trashcan area much like you would see it a Panera Bread or similar coffee shop. Cleanliness: Spotless. They were very quick to wash down the tables as soon as each customer finished their meal. Noise: Although there were two TVs, they were not loud and we were able to keep a pleasant conversation going at a low volume. There was no road noise from the street. Service: Throughout the meal we were checked on frequently to make sure that the food was cooked to perfection and to ensure we had everything we needed. Lighting: Well lit from high above. No need to wear sunglasses and no need to use your phone’s flash either. Just right. Parking: Ample parking around the entire block. We parked on the street behind the shop for free, which had a two hour limit. More than enough time. Conclusion: Whether you’re a regular or just in town on a whim, look this place up. You won’t be disappointed.

Nice décor, especially in a downtown area like Hamilton. We had Reubens which were good but a little greasy. Potato salad was creamy, maybe a little too creamy. The chicken noodle soup was excellent! About $ 10 for lunch. Service was friendly but a little slow. I would come back again for the soup alone.

I came here for an impromptu lunch with my high school age boys. We have been hearing good things and decided to give it a try. My boys LOVED their burgers. I had the grilled ham and cheese and it was REALLY good. The atmosphere was casual and inviting. The staff was super nice and very attentive. I would have given them 5 stars if their hours were better. For those that work or live out of the city it’s hard to get here. Saturday hours would be great. If they were open on Saturdays, we would probably go a lot more.

I went to High St. Café on opening day and they were absolutely packed. There was a line to the door, but they got through all of us relatively quickly. Service was friendly and prompt. Although I thought the interior was clean, the décor is strange. It’s like they couldn’t decide if they wanted to go contemporary or country bumpkin, so they just decided to do both. I had the chicken salad melt and it was absolutely fantastic. Since then, I’ve also had the turkey eggs Benedict, which was also amazing despite the fact that the eggs were cooked solid. Love the outdoor seating options! High st. is another steppingstone to bringing Hamilton to where it needs to be. With quality food and a nice atmosphere, I don’t see it going anywhere any time soon. Cons: their hours! Closed on Saturday?! Talk about a massive loss of business. I hope they rethink this very soon.

I’m sorry, but after all the great reviews, I was expecting something fantastic. The place was cute and clean, but the food was only average and it cost more than I expected. For two sandwiches, two drinks, and a kids meal the bill was $ 26.50. I really don’t think we will be back.

Small local business that has fantastic portions and quality for the price. Fresh baked bread, local honey and salsa for sale in addition to there healthy menu. I was introduced to this café less then a month ago and make at least a weekly occasion of it. The menu is a cross between First Watch and Panera. My Florentine Eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked and fresh hash brown side was an ample portion. It’s nice to have restaurants like this in Hamilton. Only downsides: lack of seating and closed on Saturdays. They are becoming so popular they need to physically expand and extend their hours. Kudos to the staff that is quick and friendly!

Check the hours, they close at 2:30pm. This place was a nice find! Good food, good portion sizes, and good(clean) atmosphere. A little pricy in my opinion but I’m not a frequent downtown customer. Cost averaged $ 10 per person with only water as drinks. We didn’t try the deserts but they looked awsome. They also sell bottles of Coca Cola made with cane sugar(ie bottled in Mexico).

So glad we have this place in Hamilton! We have gone multiple times and each time we’ve received delicious food and fast & friendly service. We’ve been going on Sundays for brunch and the turkey eggs benedict if incredible! Homemade hollandaise sauce, perfectly cooked eggs and lots of avocado. Lunch menu is great as well. There are a couple outdoor tables we’ve sat at each time, great spot.

Stopped in here after the lunch rush about 1:45 and was pleasantly surprised to see that they still had many full tables(always a good sign). The wait was very short for a to-go order. The breakfast menu is very extensive and sounded amazing. I had a chicken salad open-faced sandwich that was very tasty and filling for hours. I paid $ 8.50 for the sandwich that included a side option. There is a little outdoor seating with a view of downtown Hamilton. The décor was very charming and homey. Definitely worth visiting and will do so again.

Great food and great place. We came to this place off the bike trail. Gray flavor and the breakfast taters are the best. The sausages was delicious and my wife loved the chicken quesadilla. We will be back this place is awesome.

We had the Triple H burger. It was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is extremely cool. We highly recommend High Street Café. I consider myself an omelette expert and will be returning to get one of those! I really hope this place does well. Worth the trip into Hamilton!

I had the breakfast burrito about 15 minutes after they opened for business and it was great. Good menu with lots of choices, really cute décor and super friendly staff. Meeting friends for breakfast again in a few days. Great addition to downtown Hamilton!

I didn’t have time to sit and eat, so I got a cup of beef vegetable soup to go. While waiting, I had the opportunity to talk to the head chef, Sean. He suggested the next time I come in I order the chicken salad sandwich. The soup was delicious, so I might just have to take him up on that.
