It was ok. The Mac and cheese wasn’t as good as I thought. The bbq itself was very good. The least place I ate before I left Hamilton.

Decent food, nothing to go out of your way for. Bbq sauce was good, absolutely no taste to the ribs or pulled pork themselves, Mac and cheese was average at best. $ 25 for a rack of ribs and I don’t get a side that comes with it? Might be back if I’m in the area but certainly won’t go out of my way to eat it again.

We celebrated New Year’s Eve with friends at Neal’s Famous BBQ. They made it a special evening — friendly, fun, and fantastic ribs!

This was our first visit to Neal’s and the food was delicious! The proportions were just right, not too much food. We were so impressed with the customer service and kindness. We will return!

Really good bbq ribs. Sauce is homemade and delicious. Was the only patron in the restaurant, but don’t let that steer your away, great food!

Had a half slab a couple of times recently and they’ve been delicious. They are adding other items to the menu soon — metts, beef hot dogs, grilled corn and more. That will add to the lunch appeal. Service is always friendly and take-out is quick. Updating my review to 5 stars and heading back for a second half slab!

Guy that runs the place is a real Gentleman. The Lady who was serving day of my visit was attentive and personable. The Restaurant moved from it’s original spot 2 blocks from 127 to it’s current 3 blocks from 129. If Neals was 2 blocks over I think it’d busy all day. It’s current spot is holding it back, there’s nothing else down his way. The food however was good and the portions were fair. Currently they serve cans of pop but they have both Pepsi and Coke so that’s a plus. Beside not having beer my only complaint is the bun was served right from the bag. I tend to prefer a semi grilled for a burger. I’ve got no doubt if I had asked for a grilled bun they would have done it and not treated me like a hinderance. Super clean and quick more then makes up for a no frills bun. I’ll definitely be back. I know it’s a newer restaurant and being locally owned food price/portion cant’ be compared to chain restaurants fairly, but I think given due time this will have many many more 5 star feedbacks. This Mans self made. He didnt inherit a business, he’s building it on his own. Only thing keeping me from 5 stars is I gave Rainforest Café in Vegas 5 stars and I would legitimately go out there just to eat Rainforest again. I would definitely drive a ways to eat Neals, but not 2200 miles. Pros– Food quality, portions, cleanliness, friendliness, coke + pepsi to drink, closest locally owned restaurant to the amphitheatre, I believe he will cater events as well. Cons– No booze.

The pulled pork is always spot-on here. Great sandwiches and plenty of side choices. The sides are a little more dicey though, the green beans and cole slaw are winners but the mac and cheese not so much. Friendly servers and great outdoor seating out front. You can catch Neal’s BBQ at festival and events downtown too.

Tried Neal’s for the first time tonight. Hamilton was busy for Alive After 5 but we were seated and served immediately. Waitress was kind and funny. The place is very clean! The food came right out and at first glance seemed like smaller portions-but it filled us up! We both got the chicken BBQ sandwich. I got coleslaw and Mac n cheese for sides and my husband got the fries. The sandwiches were really good. And they brought a little extra sauce for me. Fries were just ok but the coleslaw was great-very light and fresh. Downside is the soda comes in cans(no refills) but other than that it was good! I’m glad to see new places in Hamilton and Neal’s seemed to be doing good business tonight!

I had the«Jerk chicken dinner». There is no universe in which 4 wings constitute a dinner. The sauce was tasty but it tasted mass-produced. With the hype I was hoping for better sauce. The baked beans were obviously from a can. For $ 3 I want a big bowl of homemade beans drenched in sauce. At no time was extra barbecue sauce ever offered. Greens were fine but I had to ask for hot sauce. Really? And she brought out the TINIEST plastic cup of what might have been Texas Pete. Bring me the bottle and at least let me know what I’m getting if it’s not homemade. Which it wasn’t. The slaw was too sweet and tasted like it came from a grocery store. The pulled pork portion was small. There was no option for a pulled pork dinner. The tilapia looked good. The chicken breast was small. The radio was having trouble and we heard a little music between the static. REALLY annoying. The service was fine, except after waiting the table I expected her to pick up my card. I had to take it up to the register. Whatever. The iPad-like gizmo at the register had a 30% tip option. Laughable. This is probably a better lunch place but there’s still the whole canned and mass produced thing to overcome. Dinner was $ 44 for 4 and we all drank only water. So it had a large lunch /small dinner price and portion point. I want this place to succeed but they have a LOT of work to do. They need to stop shopping for prepared foods and make more from scratch. They need to increase portion sizes on the dinner menu.(A small price increase would not be out of line.). Their competition is Walt’s down the road and they’re not going to be a player if they don’t change.
