Anytime you get off an exit outside of Tupelo, Holly Springs/Oxford, or Olive Branch on the I22 corridor, well, you risk hearing the banjos. Some of the exits just look like there is a good chance you will not return. One day, I needed gas badly, so I took a huge risk. I got off at exit 14(Hamilton, AL), and went to the Texaco(to give you an idea, this exit has 3 things, all within 300 feet of eachother– a huddle house, a Key West Inn, and Chevron). And no, I never ventured off the exit any further than these 3 places(as they are thankfully visible from the highway). I remember the first time I pulled up, I noticed this place wasn’t even on Unilocal. So there are a few undocumented check-ins(maybe its for the best?). The first time I went, I had to fill up, use restroom, and get some snacks(as the exit is about 115 miles or so from MEM). The restroom, the first time I went in, well was interesting. I knew the type of crowd that rolled through when I saw on the urinal, «diabetic monkey jesus was here». Or he could have simply said, «I love meth». The food and drink selection is decent for the middle of nowhere, and another thing I noticed here: either the A) tobacco is really cheap or B) they don’t add everything up. Stuff always seems cheaper here, but I don’t question it. The staff is pretty friendly here, and you can tell they are local with that longgg draw. Hey, I will keep coming back! I am just not sure though if it is a 24 hour establishment or not…
