We’ve stayed at this hotel numerous times on our yearly road trip to Florida, both with kids and animals. Always friendly staff, and clean. We had an infant with us this time and they brought us a crib. Breakfast is good and easy on and off the highway.

Traveling from Houston TX to RI this was our first stop along the way. We chose La Quinta because we knew them to be pet friendly. Hotel is not too far off the highway and set back from road so very little noise. Hotel has a really nice pet walking area(just wish people would scoop their dog’s poop! they even provide bags… no excuses people!). Several area restaurants for eating options and free breakfast is standard stuff with the waffle maker we all wish we had at home!

We visited the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Hammond for a few days. We were there in Hammond for a family funeral. The folks at La Quinta couldn’t be more understanding and gracious. Thank you so much for giving us a place to acquire some peace of mind. The beds were great and the breakfast was very good. Thank you again. We will stay with you the next time we’re in town, hopefully for a happy occasion. five star establishment.

I am very confused as to why this hotel has good ratings(for the most part). It took my family and I 10 minutes to get service when we were checking in. We finally called the phone number and alerted a staff member(Kris) we were there. We finally got to our room where we hurried up and laid down because we were so tired.(3:30 am) We woke up to pincher bugs crawling in the bathroom, and a hairball next to the bed. We asked to employees for a discount of some kind, who refused and said Mickey Dufrene would be contacting us. We haven’t heard anything yet. We DID try to eat the free breakfast downstairs but could not because they do not supply high chairs for babies. DISCRMINATION! This was TOO expensive $ 130 a night) to deal with this kind of atmosphere, and lack of innovations.

I believe most LA Quinta Inn and Suites are clean and equipped with a travellers necessities. I will tell you that it was the exceptional staff that I enjoyed the most. I came in on a Saturday morning at around 3am. The lady at the desk was friendly and helpful. I did not have a reservation, but got me a room for the whole week that I needed. During my week stay, I never heard or saw anyone in a bad mood. The staff was happy and helpful. Everyone greeted each guest they came in contact with. It was a great experience for me and I would recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the Hammond /Ponchatoula, LA area.

While my father was in North Oaks hospital across the street, my husband and I stayed in this La Quinta for two nights. The staff was friendly and check-in was easy(we had prepaid online). We stayed in room 201, a king«suite», which turned out to be directly next to the vending, ice, and stairwell. The stairwell doors, both on floor 2 and floor 1 were extremely noisy. I think a bit of soundproofing on the stairwell door frames would be a marked improvement. The WiFi was free, which was a bonus. The room and bathroom were clean and well-kept. The entire hotel is smoke-free but people smoke just outside the doors, if that’s a bonus/problem for you. 3 negatives: 1. No recycling at all(hotel, hospital OR airport, such a shame)! 2. Pillows were tiny and flat. 3. Housekeeping replaced all soaps even though they had only two uses and used towels, even though we hung them over the shower bar and didn’t have them on the floor. I am used to hotels that are more aware of conservation than what we encountered here. While at the hospital, some family members stayed late and decided to book at La Quinta on our recommendation. Upon check-in, they were even given a discount rate because they were visiting someone at North Oaks. Be sure to mention this, as we did not know that was a discount option. The in-room coffee pot was a 4-cupper but the lobby had 6 carafes of freshly brewed coffee along with pump bottles of flavorings you could add. I only ate an apple from the free breakfast(didn’t sit down, just grabbed coffee and apple to eat while walking to the hospital), but there was a waffle station to make your own along with boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, cereals and muffins, along with a small assortment of fruits(apples and oranges on Saturday, only oranges on Sunday). Not a bad offering, all-in-all.

I booked a room through Hotwire and wasn’t expecting much.(We were just passing through and needed a pet-friendly hotel for the night.) Upon entering the hotel, you can tell that it’s newer. The lobby is clean and spacious. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room on the second floor turned out to be a suite. Grounds are very nice and well-maintained. All in all, we were very, very pleasantly surprised and would stay again.

Newer place. Very clean. More than just a room! Great beds and nice sitting area with 2 chairs, couch and desk. Staff is friendly and sometimes bakes cookies in the evening. Breakfasts are just so-so, but better than some. Decent coffee. Noticed a meeting room that seemed well equipped. Free wi-fi with good reception. We’d come back.
