Yellow Cab of Northwest Indiana

UNRELIABLE SERVICE. I ordered a taxi on the day before I needed a pick up to catch a flight. The dispatcher called me 15 minutes before my pick up time and said they are not going to make it to pick me up. He promised me that they could pick me up for the next pick up, so I rescheduled to take a later bus to catch my flight. The taxi driver then called me 10 minutes before he was supposed to show up and told me he was not going to make it again! Terrible customer service and very unreliable! Do not ever trust this company to pick you up on time!

I have found a taxi service that only charged me $ 30 for a 30 minute ride. However, this taxi service charged me $ 29 for a 15 minute ride AND they were late. Either they charged extra because they were located in the next town over or I’m just naïve, maybe both or neither one of those two factors. Either way, I’m no longer using this taxi service if I can help it.

One evening I scheduled a cab via their website to pick me up in Hammond at 10AM to be dropped off at Meijer, and to pick me back up at noon. It started out pretty smoothly. They were maybe 5 minutes late, can’t really complain about that and the driver was friendly. But on the way back? I can’t even give them the benefit of the doubt! I stepped outside at about noon expecting my ride back, then at about a quarter after I called and they said they’ll be here in about a half an hour. About an hour passes, and still nothing, so I call back 2 or 3 more times to be told «another half hour» or «15 minutes», blah blah before it finally arrived at almost 3PM! I was waiting all the time with some perishable groceries, and really lost my patience into a full-​blown panic attack by then. I told the driver I needed to make one stop and he sighed. When I made the one stop, for some reason they switched my groceries into the trunk of another car with another driver, which they told me they’d do but it wasn’t even a cab! How was I supposed to know whether someone was trying to kidnap me or something? I overheard the new driver take a call from someone asking to go to Dyer (from north Hammond) and he was rude and said «that ain’t gonna work».
I dreaded having to take a cab around here again, but this time I called Triple A on the way back from an appt. They were there in 5 minutes.
Apparently they only have one driver on duty at a time.
And the cab isn’t even «yellow».

Taxis/​cab service are limited in Northwest Indiana, Hammond especially. I called in the morning to reserve a cab for 5 p.m. to be dropped off at the local train station for a 5:45 ride into Chicago. I called around 4:40 p.m. to verify everything was still good and they said it may be about 10 minutes late.
I called at 5:10, and the dispatcher said he would call right back. He never called. I had to arrange for alternative transportation. I called at 5:30 and asked where was the cab, dispatcher lied and said they honked the horn AND called my phone, and hung up on me. I will never use this service again, hopefully no one else will either.

Reserved a cab to take me home after New Year’s Eve party and they never showed and wouldn’t answer my calls but they still took money out of my account for the fare. This company is a joke!
