This doesn’t even deserve one star. The service here is atrocious. We waited two hours just for a salad. My food was delivered cold and not as described. Had to ask several times just for water or things that had been ordered and forgotten. When I complained about my food the waiter got in my face and I thought he was going to take a swing. Absolutely ridiculous. DONOTCOMEHERE, go to Union Block instead.

Great spot to come in an grab a local beer or wine any time of the year! They always are doing great specials from all sorts of sea food to American classics entrées! Great place to stop in for lunch or a full dinner or even a great spot to grab a appetizer an local drink! supper laid back environment you can come in your bathing suit or just some jeans! Fastest an freshest food an serves in Hammondsport. The deserts are all made in house an are to die for and will melt in your mouth! It’s all good an very reasonable for your bank account of your going out to eat. Owned by two brothers. One of the most stop places to get food on your way through the town!

Horrible décor, high prices for inferior food, weird wait staff. Took a to go box for pasta and threw in dumpster outside. I don’t think even Gordon Ramsey could help this dump.

My first review since I’ve sadly moved to the east coast. This is the first place that was truly unexpected. I’m not one bit upset that I blew my diet for this meal. In short: IFYOULIKESEAFOOD, YOUWILLLOVETHISPLACE! After driving to and from Hammondsport a handful of times, whenever we would pass by this place, I thought to myself«I need to try that place… but it looks more like a local dive bar» BUT, being that there are nice options in the downtown area of Hammondsport, we haven’t gotten around to it… until tonight. First impression, we got there around 5:30(on a Thursday). The inside was not what I would expect from the outside. Cozy dining room with a small bar… all themed to a nautical motif. *Yarrrr* I was a bit nervous that we were the only ones in the dining room, but we were seated and the very pleasant waitress was quick to get us our drink order. Perused through the menu, my partner in crime decided on the largest dish on the menu… the Nor’easter and shrimp cocktail and I ordered the Cioppino Pot. But first, we were treated to a warm basket of CORNBREAD(!!!). It was crumbly and sweet and went perfectly with a honey butter. It’s the little touches that stand restaurants apart. Our salads came out, they were fresh with some of the best tomatoes I have had in a while. My squeeze ordered the homemade ranch dressing, I had to have a taste and it was delicious. Then…the pièces de résisances(I’m guessing that is how you plural that phrase)…the main courses. They were large feasts of treasures of the ocean. My man enjoyed his trough of food, cooked perfectly and fresh seafood. Mine was incredible. The sauce was full of flavor and really complimented the seafood. It was this tomato based sauce with celery, a bit of spice, and some other flavor that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. In the short amount of time I’ve lived in this area… this is by far the most memorable meal I’ve had in this area(Corning/Hammondsport/Ithaca). It is not foo-foey and not presumptuous(we are out in the sticks people, let’s stop pretending to be fancy). Super friendly staff, the owner chatted with us and was very friendly. Pricing was spot on for the quality you are getting. Hands down, best seafood you’ll get in the area.

We were driving along the west side of Keuka Lake and decided to look for a place for am early dinner. We found this place on Unilocal and drove down to Hammondsport. There was only one other vehicle in the lot but this want a surprise because it was the afternoon. We had a difficult time deciding what wanted to order because there were so many seafood choices. We finally settled on the Nor’easter Steam Pot, Rainbow Trout catch of the day and Crab &Artichoke Parmesan Sourdough Crisps appetizer. Everything was delicious! The appetizer was so good it could have been an entrée by itself. The steam pot was the best I’ve ever had and worth every penny! The trout was cooked to perfection! This is not a «fast food» seafood restaurant so we were aware it would take time to receive our meals and it was definitely worth the wait!!! The owner was very helpful too.

Very disappointed with our meal and service! Where to start? The owner was pleasant and explained the menu in great detail when we arrived, but everything just went downhill after that. For reference: we were a group of 6 and arrived when there were only 2 other tables being serviced — and only had 2 small families come in after we arrived. Our drinks took 10 minutes to arrive; we got to order 15 minutes after that; our appetizers came 45 minutes later, followed by a salad 15 minutes later; lastly our meal arrived 20 minutes after that(after the table next to us — who arrived 30 minutes later than us). A grand total of 2hrs and 20ish minutes!!! OMG Our food was bland and of lame quality. The advertised appetizer«Crab CakeS»(THATCOST12DOLLARS!) ended up being a singular mediocre-tasting cake that I could’ve bought at some grocery store in the frozen aisle for a quarter of the price and I would’ve gotten 2… The seafood linguini had part of a shell in every bite; took 4 bites and then asked for a to-go box to not seem rude(we left it there after we paid)… The 25 $ broiled scallops had no flavor and were quite literally just 6 rubbery lumps in some excess fish-water and oil; the sautéed veggies on the side weren’t fully cooked and had no seasoning either… The kiddie crab leg bucket had an entire leg void of meat(not sure if the fault of the chef or just shit luck)… Anyway, everything else needed help too in the flavor aspect ***Positive Note! The appetizer calamari with the red chili sauce was good The manager started verbally attacking his staff while we were waiting for our food –(Quietly, but in the middle of the dining area) — was very off-putting. The staff later sympathized with us and our crappy service(he said he didn’t blame us for hating it and kind of looked fed up with everything) At the end, we had a split bill but still had a $ 30+ gratuity fee added to our meals. — no extra tip was left by any of us. Will never go back. Needs better management, lower prices, and different food.

This was a fun little place with great service and awesome food. The low country bounty or(boil) known to southerners was flavorful and fresh! We really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and local beer selection. We will be back!

I am still dreaming about their clam chowder, fantastic. Service was excellent, and chef/owner came out to check on us and chat. Excellent food.

The best seafood restaurant in all Finger Lakes. Chef owner who knows how to receive, store, handle and prepare fresh seafood. The real deal, a great seafood as if we were on the ocean. We had steamed clams which were tasty, the seafood bisque fresh, and freshly shucked oysters amazing. Why is there a wait to get into the few restaurants in town Hammondsport when this place has ample seating and high quality food?

I went there on my way to the lake and did takeout. I got the ribs they were ok at best but they were not grilled or smoked for sure. I think they baked them! My wife had a burger which was average at best. I will say the fries were very good but they really skimped on how many fries they gave her which was really disappointing. I doubt I will go back.

Where to start… 1. Smells like mold and mildew. 2. After 45 minutes had not received my cheeseburger. 3. A physical fight broke out in kitchen while we were sitting there not eating. 4. The clientele consists of old racist rednecks. Can’t rate the food as I left before it came out. The club soda was adequate.

Last Friday we stopped and had their special, a roasted Halibut topped with Blue Crab with Chili Mango sauce. It was $ 23.95 per plate. Well it came out and between 2 plates there was not even a teaspoon of crab. We complained to the waitress who brought it to the cooks attention but he choose to do nothing. The waitress came out to explain and feeling badly about it we believe she comped is free cheesecake which by the way is superb. So in the end we left feeling ripped off since the dinner was really worth no more then your standard fish fry of $ 9.95 per plate. We most likely will go back but will avoid the expense entrees.

Fantastic shrimp and crab cake sandwich, good selection of local brews. Atmosphere is laid back. Service was a little slow, but the food made up for it. Also the crab rangoons are stellar!

Found Pelicans Net when searching on line for places to eat for my husbands bday. There were a ton of good reviews so we decided to check it out-so glad we did! Was a little nervous when we first walked in because there was only one other couple there but it is in a very rural area. The service was awesome, Mark was so nice and was great with our 3 young kids. The food was outstanding!!! Everything was fresh and made in house. They brought my husband a piece of amazing tasting cheesecake with and candle in it & sang happy birthday. Don’t let the location or the small size deter you! We will def go back!

We found this placve by accident 2 years ago. The seafood was excellent and the staff was very friendly which made up for the slow service. The owner told us they had just lost staff so no big deal. We made a repeat visit mid-September of this year and were a bit disappointed. While the food was good, it was not great for the price and the service was even slower than the year before. We were there for 3 hours from the time we were seated until the time we left and there were only 3 other tables in the place. The owner, Mark, did apologize but again told us they had just lost staff and were shorthanded in the kitchen. We go to this area every September and will not be making a return visit here.

Best seafood in the Hammondsport/Keuka Lake area! As you pass by on Rt. 54, you might think this place is a small town restaurant with small town options. But it gets fresh seafood several times a week from Boston and it offers big city dishes and taste. The décor is like a clam shack but the food is way better than a «shack» would offer. You have to give this place a try! A previous reviewer mentioned that they didn’t have their liquor license yet, but they do now. They have a happy hour with oysters and a beverage at the bar. The seafood bisque is downright amazing. The coconut shrimp are the best anywhere. Fish fry here on Friday nights is delicious too. There is usually a special and Mike, the chef, knows how to cook seafood to perfection. If you are travelling with some who are not into seafood there are also burgers, BBQ chicken and pulled pork. Definitely check this place out. You will not be dissapointed.

Living in San Diego, I have had some some very tasty seafood. I stopped in here on the last night of my vacation in the area. TOOBAD!!! The food and the service were both awesome! I’d have eaten here every night! If I am ever even remotely close again, I will be back. It’s been a few months since I’ve been there but still remember the chefs names. Mike and Mark. I wish you guys the greatest success. Especially since I want to eat there again.

We come to Keuka Lake every summer and have always wished for a good spot for seafood. The Pelican’s Net, which opened in August of ’11, has made that wish come true. The steamed clams were plump and juicy, my wife’s whole lobster was perfectly cooked, and my calabash-style fried oysters were delicious. Moist cornbread and yummy home-made coleslaw completed a fine meal at a very competitive price — and we’re looking forward to the bananas Foster cheesecake we didn’t have room to eat on site so took away with us for later. One thing that will put off some: no liquor license, at least not yet. The Net is right across the street from the Finger Lakes Beer Company, though, so you can have a beer or two before dinner and enjoy the restaurant’s pomegranate iced tea with your meal. The Pelican’s Net is our new favorite dinner spot on Keuka Lake!
