I’m a bit confused on what kind of shop this store wants to be. I love the movie reference to Meg Ryan’s You’ve Got Mail and Jimmy Stewart’s actual The Shop Around The Corner. Cute! The sales associate is super nice. She has 2 twin boys and is always super nice to my son. However, the store itself brings you in looking like a consignment store but also sells retail priced items. Then there is the real mess. In full disclosure, I brought a lot of designer labels in to resell but the owner never saw their value. The items were from Scoop, Intermix, Barney’s, and Big Drop all big posh Upper East Side NYC stores. Yes, I did have a few Gap, Kenneth Cole, and BR things, too. I was bummed that someone else wouldn’t get to love the clothes as much as I did. I no longer can fit into the size 0 and 2 now that I’ve had a baby and no longer live in NYC. So no way is this mama ever gonna be that size again. Soo, what I saw was used Vera Bradley bags, an new Betsey Johnson dress and… wait for it… wait… A lot of Target clothes. Yes, Merona labels. Ugh. I love Target as much as the next gal. But seriously, in a consignment shop.
