Hot Mess Studios

My first visit to hot mess was fun. This past weekend my friend and I arrive on Sunday afternoon. The guy who was at the door did not greet us and told us to take a seat at the sail boat canvas. We informed him that we were interested in pairing pottery. He replied «we are filled» and walked away. His tone and demeanor was abrupt and rude. There are so many different ways he could have approached it.

I came to Hot Mess Studios with my sister in law and baby nephew to get his footprints plated for Christmas gifts. This place was so much fun, and way more than i had initially expected. Not only can you craft pottery, but they also offer candle, stuffed animal, mosaic and clay making. It is extremely child and BYOB friendly for Ladies nights. So basically, it’s pretty much arts & crafts heaven!
The women working at Hot Mess were so sweet and helpful; they gave us tips and suggestions as to what could make our inexperienced pottery designs more pleasing and popular to the eye. More experienced artists come and can improve your creations with special designs and writing.
The pottery options are eclectic-​you can make anything from a dish to a candle holder, a wine glass stem, and even Christmas trees! Just don’t expect to make something and walk out with it same day-you’ve got to come back in a week or so to let the glaze dry.
