Elements of Taste(the retail store of Hutchinson’s Candy) is a great place to stop for homemade candies, confections and gifts, located along Route 1 in Hampton. This shop was also featured on Phantom Gourmet. The shop itself is very cozy with sweets and gifts packed into small connected rooms. The front room has a couple glass display cases stocked with various chocolates, truffles, and various confections. They also sell fudge, caramel kettle corn(various sizes & flavors), brittles, specialtygift boxes, various gifts, and more. There’s also a bargain table too. The back room has a decent selection of assorted small colorful candies including hard candies, lollipops, Twizzlers, Jelly Bellys, NiklNips, and Wax Fangs. Feel like a kid in a candy store! I stopped in here recently to pick up some sweet treats. The maple caramel corn is sooo good, which has a light crispy texture with buttery and sweet taste, made with real maple syrup. The peanut butter fudge has a soft texture and is very sweeeet!!! The very sweet chocolate nut fudge just melts in your mouth. The peanut brittle is really good with plenty of peanuts in the brittle and is not that hard & «brittle» to eat like the typical peanut brittles I’ve had. Free samples are offered at the counter. The prices are pretty fair. Overall, I really enjoy the maple caramel corn and peanut brittle, but the fudge is too sweet for my taste.
