Love this place. Great food. Great(big) drinks. Great local folks! Come on in and often, I heartily recommend.

This cozy little place had high hopes when it opened. After going here 5 times we have decided the sixth will be somewhere else. Too many items on the menu are frozen and just not good. Fresh and I use the term loosely items were repeatedly sent back to the kitchen as not edible. Prices were reasonable but occasionally more than expected for this type of restaurant. It seems to be more of a place to hang out have a burger(good) and drink than a place to get a good meal.

Fores Restaurant is casual restaurant and bar serving lunch and dinner daily, located at the former Ron Jillian’s, which moved up the road to a bigger location. The place has a cozy and slightly loud atmsophere here with the lounge/bar area in the back and the casual dining room in the front. The walls are decorated with golf related items and pictures including a bag of golf clubs, and a framed glass case with collection of golf balls from different golf courses. I stopped in here for dinner arriving around 6PM on a Saturday night. I was seated immediately in the front dining room at the table in the front window with a lighted LED«OPEN» sign and a spectacular view of busy Route 1 traffic. I was given ice water and menu. The menu offerings include appetizers, soups, chili, chowder, salads, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, comfort dishes, pasta, steaks, pork chops, seafood, lobster pie, and desserts(ice cream, cheesecake, cake, strawberry shortcake). Brunch is also served on Sundays 10AM-3PM. A kids menu is offered, as well as daily specials are offered plus a wine list and specialty cocktails are available. Lunch is served until 4PM. The prices are moderate, most sandwiches $ 7-$ 9 and most dinner entrees $ 14-$ 22. For a starter, I ordered a Crock of Chili with Cheese($ 6), which was served very hot, both in temperature and in flavor. The chili was thick and hearty and had kidney & red beans, peppers, chunky ground beef and lots of spices. The taste of the chili was very spicy, which should be renamed 5 Alarm Chili. I quickly requested more ice water and the waitress suggested leaving the pitcher of ice water at my table, thankfully. For dinner, I ordered the Turkey Club($ 9) with choice of bread served with fries, dill pickle, and cole slaw. However, the waitress suggested I get a some fries and onion rings too with my sandwich, which I accepted. The sandwich order was placed after I finished putting out the fire in my mouth from the chili. The Turkey Club was the standard size, a triple decker sandwich with romaine lettuce, tomato slices, mayo, bacon, and deli turkey breast with toasted wheat bread. The portion of golden fries with generous, which were crisp on the outside and not greasy. The breaded onion rings were good and crispy on the outside and did not fall apart. However, there was no cole slaw, so I assumed the onion rings were substituted for the cole slaw. I filled up on the good amount of fries and rings and had half of the turkey club boxed to go. Overall, the food I had was very standard, but good pub fare. The chili ingredients were very good, but it was«over the top» spicy for my taste. The service was very friendly as the hostess/waitress Cathy kept on top things in the dining room. I definitely needed that pitcher of ice water at my table. I would return here to try out the Lobster Pie next time.
