On 9÷2÷15 I reserved a room from Hotels/Expedia for two nights checking in 9÷5−9÷7 at $ 169 per night. The next day the owner of the hotel called me to say that the price was listed incorrectly and it was supposed to be $ 199 per night, that I can either pay the additional $ 60 or cancel. I said neither. I tried for two days to get in touch with someone at the booking site but I kept getting forwarded to empty lines, gift card reward scams, or simply disconnected. The owner refused to absorb the cost of the error and the booking site assumed no responsibility. This seems like a terrible case of bait and switch scam and I’ve also made the BBB of NH aware.

Location, location, location AND quality control. Gary and Bob’s place is among the nicest places to stay on Hampton Beach at a very reasonable price. I stayed up and down Ocean Boulevard over the years until I came upon The Grand View, and for the last five years I’ve never stayed anywhere else. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and conveniently located at the quiet end of Hampton Beach. If you need an amenity(toaster, corkscrew, bag of ice, etc., just ask and you’ll receive). The reserved, on site parking is convenient and one can get in or get out easily, day or night. There is a great coffee shop just a short walk away, and a 4-star beach just across the street. I mentioned quality control and what I mean by that is the rules are enforced… it’s quiet here except for the occasional times that groups of travelers join together for a few hours of friendly cocktails and conversation. The buildings are well-maintained inside and out… the owners are very proud of this place and it shows. People(like me!) come here year after year because we are well-treated and valued customers. What more could anyone ask for?

Grand view! Is in a great location near the top of the strip. Alot less noisy and congested as the main strip. Still easy walking distance to everything. Actually less than a block in either direction to 2 of the best restaurants in town. It’s right across from one of the beach entrances. With a life guard. And again the beach is alot less congested there. We booked six rooms including the jacuzzi suit. Everyone found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable. One room we had slept 2 couples and their son on a double sized pullout couch. I felt like we got a great value for the money here. Certainly not the rowdy frat boy hotel like many others downtown on the strip. Gary was very accommodating to all our guests. I found him and his night office attendant Mary to be most helpful, she recommended the absolute best Sunday brunch place in all of N.H. Thanks Mary! I would have no reservations to recommend Gary, his staff and his establishment to anyone looking for a stay at this moderately priced hotel.

We stayed here last year .The place needs to be updated, but for the price it isn’t a bad place. It is located directly across the beach with parking. We are going to stay here again this year

We booked a room for a get a way weekend in late September. We were doing the Granite State Wheelmen Century.(a cycling event) When we got there, we were given an offer of a larger room or a room with a view. I thought«room with a view», who wouldnt. Except that when we got there, the room was so small there was just enough space to walk around the double bed. Which was lumpy, wiggly and uncomfortable. With barely enough blankets and only two flat pillows. There was no bathtub and my elbows hit both walls in the bathroom. We checked out the larger room, but it was just dank! Dark, dirty and creepy. We stayed with the«room with a view». It does look very lovely from the outside. The grounds and the decks are kept beautifully landscaped and clean. But the owners were having a large soirée and had about 25 of their drunk friends on the deck til quite late. So we couldnt use the deck and it was so noisy! We’ll be going to the Ship’s Inn next year!

The rooms were uninviting and small, the beds uncomfortable and lumpy, only two pillows and they were flat, the carpet was filthy. The bathroom was small There was no telephone, no coffee maker, no newspapers, no ice maker. There was no security lock on the sliding door, panels on sliding door didnt offer much privacy. AC didnt work, screen door was broken couldnt close it all the way to lock it. Great location though right across from the beach and a short walk from the festival. For the money i probably could have done quite a bit better
