Stumbled upon this place after helping a friend move to the area. More than a deli this place serves up some great Italian dishes. Homemade pasta that you can watch being made! Fresh bread and a quaint little space. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area and looking for good food

We’ve been coming here for years thanks to a neighbor’s recommendation. Linda and her staff turn out amazing homemade food. This place is the real deal as they actually cook from scratch. Breakfasts are great. I love the homemade sausage! Great BLAT sandwich with basil lime dressing. Oh and don’t forget to grab a cinnamin roll on Sunday morning. Excellent.

Had a wonderful dinner today!!! This was our first time here and we will return! This hidden gem was very clean, the food was fresh and reflected the fact that the chef and owner cooks with top quality ingredients. She makes her own breads, sauces, salad dressings and her vegetables are very fresh! My husband had the Veal Parm. Which was made with Linda’s wonderful sauce(or should I say gravy). The pasta was freshly made in house and the veal was very tender. I had the Flounder stuff with yummy fresh crab over beautiful fresh spinach! We also had calamari which is freshly prepared and cooked upon ordering(and it included tentacles) with Linda’s spicy sauce! I will try to attach pictures so you can see our lovely entrees and salad. I can’t wait to try her breakfasts. Make sure to make reservations for dinner as it is a pretty popular dinner spot.

I love this place. It’s probably the best restaurant in the small Hampton Boro. I love the feel of the restaurant inside sort of a deli counter type place. The food is all homemade, fresh and delicious. The portions are huge so you get your money’s worth. If you are coming on the weekends makes sure you have reservations because this place fills up! Highly recommended as a diamond in the rough from a local transplant :)

I’m new to the area(only been in Hampton for a week), but we’ve already eaten here three times! It’s such a cute place, I feel like I go back in a timewarp to a much simpler era, and very small town feel, which I love! The food is phenomenal, I have tried the eggplant(best homemade pasta I have ever had), I got take out for lunch where I had the buffalo chicken wrap(delicious, and the homemade macaroni salad again is the best I have ever had), and last night we had family over and ordered a pizza and garlic knots, which the garlic knots were out of this world. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I am SO happy that Hampton Junction is literally down the street as I foresee us having many meals here!

Absolutely the best pizza in New Jersey! Please be aware, I don’t say this lightly. As a 60 plus year old Italian, I have had the pleasure of experiencing the best pizza New York, Naples and Rome have to offer. Without question, Hampton Junction Deli’s pizza is one of the very best.

Off the beaten path. But well worth the trip. Sandwiches, salads, pastas are all great. They make you feel at home. Never had a bad meal here!

Best BLT with avocado I’ve ever had. Bacon was cooked when I ordered the sandwich not reheated. Bread was perfectly toasted. My gf loves the basil lime dressing. I liked it too. I even ate the macaroni side. I never eat that stuff. This is home grown quality food with healthy sized portions. You simply don’t find places like this very often.

So I’ve been coming here for years and, as someone who was raised by 3 generations of Italian women, it’s hard for me to find Italian food that I genuinely enjoy… However Hamption Junction gets the job done every time I go! Everything I’ve ever gotten from there has been incredible… The chicken parm is on point, the homemade raviolis are out of this world, and they have an amazing salad with granny smith apples and fried goat cheese that is out of the world. I can’t recommend this place enough to anyone who is looking for great food… It’s looks like a deli, and is labeled as a deli, but I PROMISE you it is SOMUCH more. Trust me, I won’t let you down.

Found this hole in the wall on Unilocal and tried it based on the recommendations. Definitely not disappointed !!! The pasta is literally made right there where you can see it. The people are incredibly nice and the food is delicious. My husband ordered the chicken parm and I had to try the eggplant rollitini that everyone raves about. We were very pleased. The portions were a good size and we both left very happy and full! We will make sure to come back with wine next time as this place is byob. Wine they might not have but they did have a slush puppy machine. My husband also ordered a slush puppy with dinner and loved it.

This is a place for people who really enjoy the best quality food and also enjoy the atmosphere of a family-owned friendly and casual restaurant where you can see the kitchen and know that everything is cooked to order. BYOB makes it a reasonably priced evening as well. We went with another couple. Appetizers were the mussels and fried calamari shared at the table. Fabulous! Our friends had the veal parm and crabmeat stuffed flounder and my husband(the meat and potatoes guy) had the prime rib with baked potato. I had the pasta with broccoli rabe, sausage, garlic and oil and it was divine. It appears that the prime rib is available all the time if you have a meat and potatoes guy to bring along. The atmosphere is such that you feel you are in the middle of the kitchen but that adds to the character of the place. We saw some wonderful desserts being served to other tables but we were too stuffed to partake but definitely will plan ahead next time. Portions are ample and they cheerfully bring you boxes to take home your meal. We shall return.

Ate there last night with a big group. Everyone was happy except those who ordered the chicken Parmesan. The chicken Parmesan was un-cuttable and un-chewable. Absolutely the toughest chicken I’ve ever had. I’m sure this was a glitch since the rest of the customers seemed happy as were most at our table. But the owners should know: improve your $ 18 chicken entrée! I will come back however I will probably get the ravioli or the lasagna which are quite popular. My table mate truly enjoyed the ravioli in fact.

This place looks like a little red barn from the outside and not a restaurant so if you’re not paying attention, you’ll drive past it. Once inside, it’s a simple but cute place. The food is tasty, made to order, and fresh. All selections on the menu are very reasonably priced. I would definitely come back for lunch.

Stopped in on our way home to Monmouth County after visiting some family. We were originally looking for a place to get a decent porkroll, egg and cheese. After looking at the menu we ordered two subs to go. We got in the car, opened our styrofoam containers to the most delicious sub we’ve ever had. The bread was amazing and everything was so fresh. We sat in silence both nodding in agreement this was one if the best meals we’ve ever had. Our cashier told us to come back for dinner, they make fresh pasta. Oh, we’ll be back. The hour and 30 minute drive will definitely be worth it.

Butternut squash ravioli dressed with sage butter! Basil-lime dressing on a mixed gardens salad! Garlic knots that really are the best in New Jersey! I know nothing about their head sized breakfast rolls or killer sandwiches(or even their pizzas made on homemade dough) but this is the place to go for superb and homemade(everything!) dinners.

Just got a pizza here. Big layer of orange grease on top, crust was burnt and too much sauce leaving it mushy. Doubt I will try this again.

We went here for my birthday dinner and I couldn’t have been happier. They have an italian menu/byob. You sort of feel like your eating in a general store or your grandmas kitchen. It is on the small side and reservation only. It can get kind of loud bc of the small space and amount of people, although it did not bother me, it bothered my husband slightly. He had mentioned it would be nice if they had outdoor seating. So about the food. We started with Artichoke Spinach Rangoons($ 9). They were absolutely decadent. The salad that came with our meal had an option of dressings(I chose the blue cheese) and I believe it was homemade dressing. It was delicious. The bread we got complimentary was definitely homemade. The kitchen is pretty much out in the open so you can see someone cranking out homemade pasta. I ordered the eggplant parmesan($ 19). It was delicious and yes the pasta was outstanding. On our way out we saw a case of cookies and cinnamon buns(that were about the size of my head). So we grabbed one of each to take home for later– once again these are homemade and so scrumptious. There is something so distinctly fresh and comforting about homemade food and if you want homemade from beginning to end, a fun carefree atmosphere, food made with love, then come here. It is truly amazing.

a hidden gem! what a great little place to go and eat. I was super concerned when I walked in and saw I was being sat next to a fridge. putting that past me, I went ahead and ordered. everything i got was top notch. I saw the pasta being hand made in the back. only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is 1. atmosphere 2. parking. I had to park in the street which really isn’t a big deal, but can be inconvenient. go check i out!

Friends who live nearby Hampton Junction Deli really like this little place and took us there for breakfast last week. We’re glad they did and wish we had time in the schedule to go back for dinner based on what saw going on in the kitchen.(We posted a photo of the dinner menu chalkboard to show the emphasis on Italian food and we have the reliable recommendation of our friends that the pasta, pizza and eggplant Parmesan are great,) The breakfast menu is narrow: eggs, potatoes, bacon, omelets and pancakes are roughly«it». But the cooking is good and comes from the heart. Hubby and I enjoyed perfectly cooked eggs and that’s harder to achieve than you think. For the home fries that came with the breakfasts, we watched the cook’s assistant(who also was our«no nonsense» server) cut up the potatoes before putting them on the cook top. Talk about fresh food! This is not a posh place for breakfast(the syrup served with my friend’s pancakes was not real maple syrup, for example, the coffee was pretty much«Boyd’s quality» and the rye bread for toast comes from a package). But it is place where pride of ownership shows and breakfast is good and inexpensive too. And given the tomatoes growing outside(«help yourself» the owner said) and the homemade pizza dough and Italian specialties being worked on that morning, we bet the dinners are very good. One important note regarding accessibility. I marked this wheelchair accessible as I post this review but the photo I posted shows stairs to the front door. The owner apparently has a relative who uses a wheelchair so they’ve made access possible through parking at the back of the building and a level in entry there. It would require a wheelchair user to enter through a kitchen clean up area and squeeze by some movable storage racks(Possible doesn’t mean easy.) After an injury nearly three years ago that wheelchair user would have been me. I pay more attention these days since climbing more than a handful of stairs is still tough to do. So heads up to those with mobility limits to be clear about the limits of access here. Limited access seems to be the standard in the old infrastructure in this part of NJ and it is better here than in many places.
