Closed! This place had really good sushi. To blame: The location! I’ve seen 4 restaurants come and go in 4 years. They should tear this place down and plant a garden or something. Waste of space.

CLOSED!!! Possible a bad location. More likely their inability to be nimble in a very competitive market.

I heard that OM closed permanently a while ago, but I haven’t been in the area for a month, so I can’t confirm it.

I’ve had better, the first clue that we weren’t going to have a good experience was that the parking lots was empty at lunch time. The service was uneven, the food was plain, the décor is boring. I will not be returning anytime soon, travel up the road for better Japanese cuisine.

This place is actually in North Hampton, where TGI Friday’s used to be. I do come here on a semi regular basis. I’ve never had a problem with the freshness of my meal. I’m a huge fan of the Godzilla roll. It’s my favorite item on the menu! How can you possibly say no to deep fried sushi!!! I always order some sort of noodle dish, typically yaki udon. I’m not a big fan of the chicken or beef versions they make. The vegetable one is okay. I feel like the value just doesn’t add up for what you’re getting but my mom likes the dish so we continue to order it. I’ve ordered various appetizers and rolls and entrees. Some were better than others but overall, tasty and able to satiate my sushi cravings. It is kind of expensive. I’ve also never found a sushi place to be very cheap. My mom and I can easily spend $ 60 for just the two of us, but we tend to order a la carte(we also over order). We’ve never ordered any of the lunch specials which are more reasonably priced.

Stopped here for lunch on my way home to Boston from Portland. I was really hungry and was craving sushi, and after a quick Unilocal search, we came to Mikado. Should’ve known there was a problem when it was completely empty at lunch time. We both ordered lunch specials. I ordered some chicken, my friend ordered beef. I got something white that kinda tasted like… nothing. He got the same thing. I think it was chicken? The gyoza were great, the sushi was great. It was very quick service, which we appreciated and expected from an empty house, but mighty pricy for mystery meat.

Fish portions were much smaller than Shio or Sake. Never got a tea refill. And got a BONE in my salmon sushi!!! My recommendation is that you go to Shio up the road for dinner and swing by here for their only highlight: the after dinner pear candies.

I ordered take out from OM Mikado for lunch. I was very hesitant because the last Japanese place that was at this location was terrible. But I’m always willing to try new places. The girl that answered the phone was very nice and helpful. The food was amazing! I got the Godzilla roll, it was so yummy. Everything tasted fresh. I will be going back again soon.

Based upon a positive Unilocal review, we decided to give them a try last night(the restaurant location hasn’t had the most auspicious history, but that is not their fault) We really enjoyed dinner. We ordered a cross section of basic favorites in order to try as many different items as possible: gyoza, shumai, various maki and a beef negimaki entrée. All of them were quite good, and the beef negimaki was the best I have had(I’ve had it at both Shio and Sake). Service was excellent. If you are curious, by all means give them a try for yourself. We will be going back.

Excellent bar, fantastic food would agree with Dan S but think the sushi is better than Shio’s cocktails are priced lowest around town, also the best dishes are missing from online menu and take out menu!!!
