Plaza Roller Rink

This place sucks! Seems like there’s only one person working. Had to change skates 3 times, no inserts and when I requested them I was give a bigger size insert. It’s super hot in here, there’s no A/​C and it stinks really bad. Bathrooms don’t have sinks, must touch door to wash your hands outside of the bathroom.

Although the venue is quite old, all rinks I’ve been to are. They are very nostalgic!
We had a blast. We went for their MLK day special, which included skate rentals, hot dog, drink, admission to rink for just $ 6.00. You can’t beat that.
They do tons of fundraiser events.
Their food bar area, was super clean and spacious.
The staff were fun. The rink was pretty clean. I love their benches and cubbies to put your personal belongings… that was fun.

The sign for this place is on Pembroke but the actual rink is behind the first building. I’ve been here once. It’s cheesy fun. This place is so old (REALLY OLD) so don’t expect too much and you’re fine.
I had fun. They play current songs that are on the radio. When we went it was packed with teens.
They have lockers so bring quarters. They sell glow in the dark bracelets for the kids so bring cash for that.
This place is less than a mile from the beach, so it’s a nice break from beaching.

I decided to have my daughter’s B-​Day party at Plaza and I thought ‘How bad can it be?’ First, the place was unclean. There were missing toilet seats in the restroom, the plumbing needed fixing, and it smelled like piss. Second, the party hostess are supposed to assist with the party (cut the cake, help in transition, etc.) but they did not. All they did was put pizza on a plate and had the DJ call the party to the room. By time all the kids got there (took 5 mins) the pizza was cold. All the party hostess did was set the pizza on the plate and left. I began to order another pitcher of soda and a pitcher of soda costs $ 6.00. WOW!
Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to go to a different place. Or, pay for everyone yourself, don’t purchase the food, and you will come out cheaper.
