Finally came to eat here with my boyfriend and his mom. It was delicious. I ordered the smoked Turkey Panini, but instead got the Turkey Flatbread on accident. No biggie, it was still great. They ordered a Salmon BLT salad and the Turkey Croissant. Both of which they enjoyed. Their favorite part of the meal was the blue crab soup. They absolutely loved it. I decided to do takeout a few weeks later, and wasn’t as impressed, but was still worth it for lunch. I ordered the chicken in a basket, chicken salad on a croissant. It wasn’t bad, I just prefer more items in my chicken salad. My boyfriend got the roast beef croissant, and man I had serious food envy! It was delicious. I ordered the crab soup so I could try it finally and it was a complete disappointment. Nothing close to what they ordered, taste or texture wise. With that said, I would definitely go back and still order the blue crab soup… with my fingers crossed.

I’ve lived in Hampton all my life and have never been inside of the restaurant. I know sad lol. Even though I have had food and deserts from here, today I needed some desert for a special occasion ok just some cupcakes lol but the young lady at the counter was very helpful and kind I will make it a point to bring my wife and actually sit real cozy on the inside.

My friend and I came here and ordered Brunswick stew and the chicken salad sandwich. I’m giving this three stars instead of two because it wasn’t like the food tasted terrible or not fresh, but it was just too bland. They needed more salt or something in the stew and the chicken salad was flavorless. No grapes, no nuts… no nothing from what we could taste besides chicken and possibly mayo??? We aren’t really sure. We have heard great things about this place so maybe they were just having an off day and we would still go back and give it another shot. The staff was very friendly, cute atmosphere and the cupcakes looked delicious.

If you have been around Hampton for a long time you probably still call this The Tea Room. The former Grey Goose Tea Room was purchased and remodelled some years back and at first I resented the changes. I did not like looking at the kitchen during my dining experience and they had opened it up so the kitchen prep is center stage. But after I accepted the changes I went back, and I’m glad I did. If I had not I would have missed the best cupcakes on the Peninsula. One of the owners is a baker, and I don’t know what kind of icing he makes but it is perfect in every way — just sweet enough, just whipped enough, just creamy enough — oh my I can taste it now. My favorite was S’Mores but he stopped making that so I switched to peanut butter cup and there was no turning back. It is filled all the way through with scrumptious whipped peanut butter. Now I go there just for the cupcakes — the meal is just an excuse to eat dessert. My friend loves the Hummingbird cake. Everyone has a favorite. The chicken salad on a croissant with poppy seed dressing is a favorite staple from the original Tea Room, and it remains a favorite. My friend and my son ALWAYS order it. I have gone off the grid a bit and tried the pork BBQ — good, the flatbread pizza — good, the roast beef sandwich — good. It’s all good though not memorable. The food is a gateway to the desserts as far as I am concerned. I recently ordered a chicken basil flatbread pizza and when I asked where the basil was they told me it was mixed into the pizza sauce. I was expecting it to be fresh basil as a topping, not a seasoning. They have a varied crowd of patrons from Red Hat ladies to a healthy number of take out patrons from the nearby government offices. The service is appropriate for the number of people trying to grab something on their lunch break. The owners are pretty much always on hand in the kitchen or at the register. It’s definitely not a tea room anymore as I think the only tea available is probably Liptons, but they do have a list of coffees. Maybe its more of a coffee house now vs a tea room, but as long as the cupcakes are front and center, that’s all that matters.

Love to slip away to «The Goose» for lunch when I can, and today’s home-made broccoli quiche just hit the spot, not to mention to drool-worthy garlic bread! And on a picture-perfect day like today, al fresco dining on their patio couldn’t get any better! I usually get the smoked turkey panini but just couldn’t pass up the quiche today. My delightful and very helpful waitress kept my iced-tea glass full, and nearly tempted me into buying dessert. I passed because I was too darn full but it was a close call considering Kentucky Derby Pie was on the menu and it is to die for! Yummy food, nice outside seating, friendly staff, and reasonable prices! What more could a hungry person ask for?

The chicken salad sandwich is my wife’s favorite thing to eat here. The place is a special mom and pop spot with delightful sandwiches. On Wednesday its«mensday» they do have more on their menu like burgers. My wife loves eating here but this would be the last place I’d eat if I were hungry. The food is good but for the prices I think portions are designed for skinny old ladies.

I had the shrimp and crab salad served warm over a biscuit. It was served with a side salad. The meal was delicate and lovely. The salad dressing was delightful! Sweet tea! Coffee and chocolate chess pie for dessert. That pie was perfection! All I can say is Wow!

I LOVE this place. It’s a quaint and quiet place to have lunch! ALL of the food there is great and the staff tops it off! One of my favorite things about The Grey Goose is the exciting coffee concoctions that they serve. It’s in downtown hampton but in a spot that isn’t incredibly busy so it’s a little getaway spot for me!

This quaint and unique local Downtown Hampton, Virginia restaurant pleases the taste buds. I absolutely love the ambiance. This restaurant features local art, gift items, dinner shows, and new specials every day. Oh, and I can’t forget the pie! Pie options vary each day as well. Who doesn’t love pie right? I recently had their«Kentucky Derby» Pie which is a chocolatey flakey delight. So good. Also, the fruit salad has a particular mixture of ingredients including peaches, pineapple, lettuce, a sweet white sauce and a cherry on top. It may sound weird but it’s delicious so don’t pass it up! The smoked salmon quiche dish was super fantastic as well! Another plus to this restaurant is that it has reasonable prices. The food, price and«dinnertainment» should satisfy guests. I appreciate how The Grey Goose has offerings as well. The last time we visited, the manager gave my sister and I coupons for the next time we come in for lunch when we checked in to the restaurant on Facebook. The staff are very friendly people and the manager has a vibrant and sociable personality. The restaurant is open from 11:00AM to 3:00PM every day accept on Sundays.

We stopped here about 30 minutes before they closed. The staff was very polite and not bothered by our late arrival. I had a turkey croissant. It was great! the meat was thinly sliced and had a great flavor, the croissant was fresh and flaky. We ordered an assortment of cupcakes they were ok, probably cooked the day before. The prices are awesome! 2.50 for a cupcake and 6 for a sandwich. I’ll be back!

I ordered the turkey croissant with provolone no mayo sandwich was ok. I expected more quality with respect to the ingredients like romaine lettuce instead of shredded. I didn’t think to take a pic until after I ate the sandwich. I did purchase a cup cake. I was greeted with may I help you. There was no signage regarding seating. This is an eclectic restaurant. I think it could use a restaurant makeover. They have paintings from local artist and a sort of antique feel. They name of the restaurant pulled me in somehow I expected

The venue’s location was hard to find. I got lost, because I was on the other side of the bldg, as the directions for this place showed; but their entrance was on the opposite side of the bldg, completely different address. Food was alright but service was slow. It was probably because of a busy night. I came here after purchasing tickets from Groupon/Living Social to see«Serious Improv» show. The venue’s interior seemed outdated but quite cozy and small. Lighting was ok. Prices, I thought were reasonable.

This is one of my favorite local restaurants in Hampton, VA! The Grey Goose is a quaint little restaurant with very friendly staff! They have the best chicken salad sandwiches! Nothing compares to their chicken salad with poppy seed dressing.

I have to say… been coming to The Grey Goose for a steady 10yrs. Even with the ownership changes, there is one dish that is absolutely amazing. «Chicken in a Basket» cute name for chicken salad on a croissant. i must say their chicken salad is truly the best I’ve ever had. I always order the honey poppy seed dressing on the side, but it is a must! The place overall is cute & chincy… reminds you of grandmas kitchen almost. Charming… I can’t recommend any other dishes b/c I’ve always ordered the same thing!

I’m giving this 2 stars simply because the waitress was nice. Don’t go out of your way for this place. The menu descriptions were inaccurate and misleading. The shrimp used are the frozen, teeny tiny, precooked kind. The pulled pork was dry. Plate sizes were not appropriate for the food it contained. Seating was cramped. Cleanliness was ok. The décor was literally priced for sale. It was like dining at a yard sale. Food prices were too high for the quality of the food. It was edible. Service was slow. This place will not be on my list to visit again.

Went today on the advice of friends for dessert. I tried the red velvet and chocolate cupcakes along with a chocolate chip cookie. I did not enjoy any of them. I prefer buttercream icing and they came with a whipped icing. The red velvet was very tasteless and the chocolate was slightly better. The chocolate chip cookie was blondw in color not at all golden as you would expect a chocolate chip cookie to be. Ad far as taste the only flavor it had was the chocolate from the chips. The cupcakes were only $ 2.50 which is cheaper than other cupcake shops in the area however the taste and lack if flavor will prevent me from coming back. The service was quick and friendly and the shop is very quaint, for those reasons I wish the baked goods had been better.

About the only problem I had was that the entrance is really on Old Hampton where we found better ‘middle of the day’ parking. My daughter & I decided to have a business lunch yesterday since she had a discount coupon and I was in Hampton during the lunch hour. After finally locating a parking spot(better on Old Hampton) we went in and were immediately greeted by a very warm and friendly employee. In fact, all of the service was wonderful. The food came out fast and was very nicely prepared. The one exception was that the spinach was a bit wilted on my smoked turkey panini. Maybe from the toasting but it detracted a little. Otherwise our food was great. We found the pricing ok as well. It must be a pretty popular local lunch spot as there were few empty tables. However, we were taken care of quickly. Yes, we would eat there again.

This was one of the first places I tried, right after moving here. It is very quaint & the service was wonderful. I also learned that Virginia is famous for ham biscuit & ‘fruit salad’. Being a northerner, I guess I didn’t realize that Virginia is actually considered«THESOUTH». I ordered the Market to Market: bowl of stew– very watery, not very flavorful. Ham biscuit — I’m not a fan. The fruit salad was a sliced canned peach on some lettuce w/a ranch-esq dressing. The food was mediocre, I guess you have to be a local to enjoy it, but I must say it was a cute place & the sweet tea was wonderful. I’d prob be back with out of town friends who wanted to try some«local» treats. The desserts looked amazing, but I didn’t try any. Give it a shot & go in w/and open mind.
