The only good thing about this place is that you can walk to the beach. This motel was $ 160 per night. I stayed 2 nights. It has wood paneling, dirty carpets, rusty radiators in the bathroom. In addition, there is no coffee maker or ice machine. Furthermore, the carpeting outside the room is so disgusting that I didn’t even want to sit outside in the morning. And, I was desperate to get out of that room. One last thing — the toilet seat did not fit properly on the bowl so when you sat down on the toilet, you could fall. Never again!!! UGH!!!

The staff hassled us about having«extra visitors» at the place, and would not leave our room area at night. When we told them to get the f out of there, they threatened to call the cops. Only thing is, we didn’t do anything illegal. We called their bluff, and the cops were never called on us. I don’t know what they would call them for anyway. That being said, it was pretty cheap and clean, and a good value for the money. The location is also excellent – it’s just a problem with the customer service. Had they had good customer service, I would have given them 5 stars for the value. Not the best place in the world, but what do you expect when booking cheap motels? Exceeded my expectations by a lot, anyway. Tip – watch out for the staff. Don’t violate hotel policy, and if you do, don’t let them catch you because they are likely to step outside of their rights. It’s one thing to charge you the next morning at the desk, but a whole other thing to harass you, refuse to leave, and make empty threats.

Room 4 had a VERY tiny sink with a shelf built right above it; impossible to wash your face, or even brush your teeth without smashing your head. Carpets dirty, housekeeping actually made the bed with a pillow in the middle under the covers, and just threw the blankets on top of mine, never cleaned the sink, toilet or shower/tub. Ceiling tiles in disrepair, NOPHONES in room, scary area of town where there was a murder down the street the day we arrived. NO maid service at all on day 2. I would not stay there again, nor would I suggest it to anyone else.

We booked a room for two online so we’d have a place to crash after the Weezer show at the Ballroom last night. Two of our friends came up just for the show, and we had an hour free beforehand, so we told them to meet us at the hotel to pregame. When we went to the desk to check in, the desk guy explained that there was a $ 20 fee for the additional guests. We explained to him that they weren’t staying, even going into details that we really didn’t need to. The guy made a comment like«OK, but if there are four staying in the room, you will be charged $ 20.» Thanks dude, we get it. The room was clean enough for a Hampton roach motel and the location is great– basically right behind the Ballroom. There is parking and the room had a mini-fridge and digital TV. Good enough for me. So after the show, at about 11pm, our friend wasn’t confident that he was legal to drive, so we decided to go back to the room until he sobered up. Literally two minutes later, there was an unsure knock at the door. It was desk douche who just came to tell us about the $ 20. Now he was saying that he told us that we couldn’t have visitors at all. Wait but what about earlier when they were with us and you said it would be $ 20 if they STAYED? Get outta here dude. We didn’t even care about the money. We blew $ 5 each on Point Blank 2 right before that. It was principal now. So we basically just said that we were going to close the door and he was going to leave, and then he threatened to call the police. I’d love to be the dispatcher on the other end of that call. «So, you have guests at your hotel that have visitors, who aren’t being loud or causing any trouble except that you want to charge them an overnight guest fee for people who are not spending the night but rather being prudent by not driving drunk, so they want you to go away? Yeah, we’ll have someone right over.» At this point, I decided that I had to share that I was a lawyer(*I’m not, so sue me) and that I fully understood all of the rights and privileges provided to me as a guest at a hotel in his jurisdiction, but obviously he didn’t. I asked him to call the police, because I would love to have all of this on police record for the court case I wouldn’t hesitate to bring if he didn’t stop harassing us right away. I explained that we were going to go for a walk on the beach to let the situation cool off and that when we returned, regardless of how many of us were left, we were going to go quietly into our room and expect not to be bothered by him or any other guests or motel employees until the morning, at which time we would volunteer to inform them of the exact number of guests that stayed and pay any and all fees the business is rightfully due. «Ok, sir, please be quiet when you come back.» Two stars because 1) The room was fine and 2) At least he realized his place and left us alone after that.

I love this place. It is classic Hampton Beach. Great location, clean, parking included and relatively cheap. It is a wood-paneling enthusiast’s dream come true. It feels like you’re staying in your grandmother’s beach house. It’s not fancy, but if you’re looking for fancy, you’re at the wrong beach.
