My sister and brother– in –law brought me to this little bar when I was visiting Detroit. We had finished all the chopping, peeling, pairing, & dicing and decided to chill. Place reminds me of some corner neighborhood bars we have in Chicago, however the owners are chill & genuinely friendly, and there weren’t any drunks falling off bar stools.
I had mentioned to Brian and Tia that we were headed out for dinner at Rock City Eatery, and Brian (major foodie like myself) told me about some of his favorite dishes. If I lived in Detroit, Bumbo’s would have to put a name plaque on a chair especially for me!

Man, it just keeps getting better and better. I’ve now had dinner twice at their Wednesday Pop-​Ups. Home cooked polish foods, but anything but «typical». Chef Brian is a king in the pierogies department!

Absolute favorite bar in Hamtramck, hands down! Delicious cocktails, affordable prices, homey vibes. And pop-​up food on Wednesdays! A great place to be a regular.

Nice clean bar, good staff (bartender was deaf as shit, but he was cool… I asked him for a Nitro Milk Stout and he handed me Mazcal), good beer selection, excellent craft cocktails, good crowd. No complaints here.

I went there with my fiancé for the first time a couple days ago, and it’s such a beautiful place! The outdoor space is so nice and big, and the bar has such a warm and inviting feel to it. The owners (Brian and Tia) are so nice and engaging. I really felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. Not to mention they have great cheap drinks that taste amazing. I will definitely recommend this bar to anyone looking for a great hang out with friends :)

The music is excellent, the drinks are great, and the place has real character. It’s been here since the 1930’s, and I love the tin-​stamped ceiling.

Great spot! Tia is amazing and makes a great Old Fashioned! We’ve been more than once and it’s the neighborhood bar you always wanted to have near by your house but sadly we don’t live there. Don’t miss it!

Great place, great drinks, rad owners. I would call Bumbo’s a good neighborhood bar since its a nice place with a patio and really friendly atmosphere without any pretentiousness. Visit nearby Hamtramck Disneyland while you’re there.

Brian and Tia are amazing! They have done such a great job in renovating this place into a local hot spot! Great place, you will enjoy your visit!

Bumbo’s is such a great bar! I’m so glad we finally got a chance to check it out. I don’t know what it looked like before, but it’s very inviting and clean for an old place in Hamtramck. Love the décor and artwork. The bar is long with plenty of chairs and some tables lined along the wall.
Tia and Brian are gracious and attentive. Clearly, they have put a lot of heart into this joint. They are very excited to be part of Hamtown. The drink prices are right in line with the other bars. They have a great craft beer selection, mostly from Michigan. There is something for everyone’s taste. PBR & Stroh’s are $ 2. Most of the craft beer bottles are $ 4. I think there were a couple of $ 5 options.
There is a cute little backyard area with a couple of picnic tables and chairs. What a cute little place!
I don’t think there is a sign outside yet, however the address is clearly marked and it says «BAR» in the window. It’s right on the corner. Very easy to find!
I am looking forward to the day that they open the kitchen!

Easily my favorite new bar. Brian made me an amazing Phil Collins. I’ll definitely be coming more often.

Within 20 minutes of sitting at this cozy bar, I had a drink named after me, The Even Steven (scotch, grenadine, club soda, & lime). I plan on spending the money for my next DTE bill on a lovely afternoon, day drinking with the friendly owners, and listening to the jukebox.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Owners are amazing, and they did a phenomenal job fixing the place up. One of the best jukeboxes in the area.

Great spot!!! Just opened last month and already seems like it has been your favorite bar for years. Great tunes on the juke, cool paintings on the wall and the nicest folks working. You can go the cheap beer and a shot route or you can have a «fancier» properly mixed drink (still cheap).
Can’t wait for the kitchen to open!!! I’ve tasted Bumbo’s food at one of their Nancy’s POP UPs and it will knock your socks off!!!

Tia and Brian did a great job opening up a kind of cramped space and turning it into a cozy and unique bar. Tia mixed me a great old fashioned, and we talked about their plans to put in a kitchen and renovate the place. Can’t wait for their expansions and continued renovations!
Brian and Tia seem very excited to be in the city, have great taste in music, as evidenced by the jukebox, and the drink prices fight right in!
Open for limited hours right now, but worth checking their schedule to go in.

Super friendly owner/​bartenders and cheap, strong drinks. The ambience is that of your favorite old-​man divey bar, but without the decades of lingering cigarette smoke and grime. Bumbo’s may have just opened, but it already has all of the charm of any beloved Hamtramck hangout. It’s a great addition to the neighborhood, and I can’t wait ’til the kitchen is ready to serve tasty food.
