Drinks were very good. Food and service was mediocre. We told our waiter that we were ready to order and he told us to wait so that he could go fill water for another table. Multiple people who came after us ended up getting there food before us.

Poke and Sashimi were yummy fresh! View was awesome overlooking the mauka(mountain) with waterfalls! Spot was perfect by the window

Despite all the reviews advising otherwise, we tried to go here. We waited 10 minutes for the host to return to write our name on the list. We then waited 30 minutes for a table and then the host gave the table to another party behind us. He sent the manager out to talk with us and he simply informed us it would be at least another 30 minutes before we could get seated. This was just after the manager told another party of 2 with reservations that they can seat them at their table but they can’t take their order for another 30 minutes because the kitchen is getting backed up. Unless you’re looking to kill a few hours then avoid this place at all costs!

Service was exceptional but the food was just okay. I ordered sushi which can be scary and it was pretty fresh which was nice. The salad was okay — the onion on it was stinky and not quality ripeness. The papaya dressing was good. Drinks were not strong per my husband — they had a good kid’s menu. Fun vibe and amazing view. I don’t think I will be back because my food didn’t taste that good and it felt like bar food even though the sushi deserves more credit than that. I would say B– and 3.4 stars.

Great view of the waterfalls in Hanalei, good drinks, but not so great food! First, change your 80’s style music please! We heard Europe, Journey(twice), Boston, etc… blah! Second, your Happy Hour really really sucks! The only hh appetizer they offer is a $ 14 lunch special where we were offered 1 coconut shrimp, fries, 1 deep fried fish, and there may have been a chicken tender in there as well… I think not! We went off the hh drink menu as we wanted piña colada’s and ordered our own appetizers. Third, the mango fish wrap, aweful! The coconut shrimp appetizer; over cooked with waisted garnish, the child’s chicken tenders was given a fail, and the fish tacos, dry! The only things good here were our piña colada’s, service, and a really cute waitress; but she wasn’t ours… :( $ 90 later, not thinking we’ll go back for any food, drinks yes! Lastly, it wasn’t very busy at 6:00PM, so that should have been an indication that their food isn’t well liked. This place would do great if it was a Mexican food restaurant… :)

So disappointed, rude service when they finally come over. Took 15 Minutes for someone to take our drink order. View is great, that’s the only reason we come back. Rude every time, never the same servers. Expensive and food mediocre. Property owner, put something new in Here with aloha and hanalei vibe.

We have visited Kauai three times in the past six years and have enjoyed the food, the views and ambiance every time. Each time we have had the fortune of sitting at one of the window seats. As one of the other guest posted the restaurant does overlook the town and people but beyond that are the ribbon waterfalls and lush rugged mountain views. We will be back!

Where do I begin, sushi roll was made and left on the side for 30min. Ordered our food and waited literally 40min for it. Server gave us the wrong food. So basically had a bad experience and will never return. Hope you guys fix the service for other customers.

Great spot to people watch and take in the view. The food is alright. There’s a lot of alright food in Hanalei and that’s okay. This one just happens to let in really nice breezes and is nicely positioned for taking in some nice views. Or watch a game. Or other diners. Or the people on the lawn across the street. Or people parking down below… You get the picture.

The foods here are excellent. I ordered the ahi steak served on a bed of salad with mango. The salad was super fresh and the dressing was tangy and refreshing which went really well with the ahi fish. My husband had the fish and chips which he enjoyed a lot – the chips were well-seasoned and the fish was quite meaty. Their mai tai was pretty strong too. Overall, we had a great experience here, not to mention the gorgeous mountain view from the restaurant!

I don’t recommend this place, despite its convenient location. My mom and I had the Purple Haze and Purple Rain martinis, which looked exactly the same and were actually awful. My parents had the fish and chips, which they said were fine. I had a chicken wrap with sweet potato fries, and it was really unimpressive. Not enough aioli or seasoning on the chicken, and too much lettuce. The fries were good, though. My husband had the penne, which he said was like high school cafeteria food. The service was nice, but very slow, and some of our already uncomfortable bar stools were broken. I would say to go to Bubba’s or one of the food trucks instead!

Great seafood prepared by the chef tonight, and our waiter Louie did a great job serving us for Mothers Day Dinner! Thank you!

Nothing to write home about. It was a slow night and the views were great. Service was good(unlike that other Unilocalers described) and the food overpriced for what we got, yes even for the island. We got a couple sushi rolls to start & both were very basic. Drinks were strong & tasty. Main course selections were the Hanelei, a seafood mix in a coconut sauce with rice, and the fish tacos. Both were just alright. I may visit this place again knowing to pass on the sushi & try other dishes.

Why this place is has only 3 stars befuddles me. The Mai Tai and the Ono Tacos combined with the view had me giving this place the title for best lunch on the island so far, but when Tara started telling us about the specialty desert made of fried bananas.

Decided to try this spot since we had time to kill before checking into our hotel. Jamie was our server and she was very friendly. The Mai Tai’s were amazing. The crunchy shrimp roll was tasty and the sampler was just as good. I enjoyed the view that overlooks the main drag of Hanalei. Definitely coming back the next time I’m back on the island.

I was enjoying myself and having a lovely lunch with a friend of mine until I received my check. I personally find this to be a huge turn off and a little unprofessional. I could understand if she wrote this on my check if it was a large party. But for only 2 people and 3 rolls of sushi. I left the 20% tip despite my feelings. Tyra Jade has bills to pay! And it’s spelt *appreciation Tyra(;

We ended up here after trying a few other places(all packed), but this place was half empty. We waited at the host stand about 5 minutes until anyone noticed we were waiting to be seated. No apology or even acknowledgement once someone finally did come. There were several loud parties seated on either side of us, but the menu looked pretty good. We got two dishes – the chef’s catch and the ono wrap. The wrap was pretty good, but the chef’s catch was kind of bland. They were out of the only dessert we wanted to try(the tempura banana). A little underwhelming, but it got the job done.

Finally getting around to writing the remainder of my reviews of Kauai. While it’s been a month, it feels like it was only a week ago that we enjoyed the Island. Located in the heart of downtown Princeville, this quaint and family style restaurant captures the essence of Polynesian flair and tiki-inspired atmosphere. We were graciously greeted by the hostess and our waitress was friendly. We started with the Poke and Sushi and ordered the Chicken wrap, Calamari, Fish & Chips and Clam Chowder. Food was brought out in a fair amount of time considering it was a Friday evening, so overall Staff was friendly and also attentive. Portion sizes are abundant but unfortunately the quality of the dishes do not match the price. The rolls started to unravel, meaning they were not rolled tightly, which was unfortunate. The wrap lacked flavor and taste but the Chowder was delicious! Overall, the dining experience was satisfactory, but, the drinks were mixed well and wickedly strong so be warned, ha!

4 stars for the food and view, but 2 stars for service… The view from this restaurant can’t be beat. The open wall looking out to the mountains is the perfect backdrop. Service is slow and inattentive unfortunately. The staff is either new or just doesn’t seem very organized. Our food took forever and the server never came back to check on us once. The restaurant was only about ¼ full so not sure what the problem was. The food, however, was wonderful. I got the cilantro shrimp salad. Light and refreshing, the dressing added the perfect flavor to the grilled shrimp. My husband got the mixed seafood over coconut jasmine rice. The scallops were perfectly done, but the fish was a bit dry. The coconut sauce was heavenly though! Overall, a nice dinner and I’d probably come back.

We had seen this place the other day when we ate somewhere else, so we thought why not give them a try. Friendly greeting when we walked up… our server said hello and said she’d be with us shortly. They have a variety of items for lunch and even a sushi bar. When our server came back, she explained the specials and we ordered drinks… a mai tai made with passion fruit juice… YUM!, which gave us more time to look over the menu. I was starving! We started with the crab cakes which were crispy and very good! I ordered one of their specialty rolls and two pieces of unagi. Both were very fresh and delicious. I also ordered the special ahi fish tacos which were great. However, the beans and rice weren’t very good. I have found this to be a problem on islands, no decent rice and beans with Mexican food. The partner had the deep fried ahi and fries. It was a very leisurely lunch and we got there just in time as it started to get very busy. For a restaurant in a touristy town, the meals were good. Our server was great! There were only two servers working the whole dining room, which can be good and bad, but she stayed friendly even when it became crowded. I would come back if I was staying in the area.
