The Crocker House Country Inn

The service here was really nice. We had some difficulty getting a reservation Friday night but the manager, Tim, assured us a reservation with a view of the garden the next night. While the portions were huge and salad was included, the prices are way too high for the quality of food. We got scallops, which I thought were rubbery and haphazardly plated, and the seafood pasta. I hate to say we were disappointed, but we were. Two stars for the food, but again, the service was above and beyond.

The food & service was good & we had a lovely time, however we did not find the the food to be extraordinary, especially considering the cost involved. The portions were large, however my husband described the seafood pasta as «mediocre at best» I had the scallops and they were good but not great, my mother LOVED the salmon, my dad had the lamb which was vey good but not the best any of us had tried. I was also a little disappointed that they did not pack the potato portion of my meal with my left overs. I’m sure a lot of people would like this place a lot however we found the food to be just a little too regular to earn our 5 star review.

Large portions, well presented

Been coming here for dinner for about 8 years or so now, once per year, when we visit my uncle who lives in a nearby town. We always go to Acadia and Bar Harbor every year for a long weekend and to visit my uncle. (My parents, myself, my husband, and my brother.) We all are foodies and this is one of our favorite meals in the area (second place to a bowl of lobster stew and popovers at the Jordan Pond House.)
We are always very impressed by the seafood pasta. Huge portions, perfectly cooked, very tasty. The prices are in the 25 – 30 dollar range, but well worth it as the portions are generous. The salad and bread are also excellent, as is the service. I have had delicious steaks there in the past, This year, I branched out from the seafood pasta and had an amazing rack of lamb.
Highly recommend a dinner at this cute bed and breakfast.
