So disappointed. I dislike writing poor reviews, especially on nice people, but the end product just sucked. There is no nice to put it. I came in for a few reasons: they had someone who could accommodate both a pedi & a mani, when i texted the nail lady a pic of what i wanted, she confidently told me she could do that. Also, the location! I’ve always wanted to try this nail salon purely because it looked cute(such a bad reason) next to the historic Fox Theater. Plus, it’s close to my hood. Where to begin. Unfortunately, I dont know the name of the lady. I know there are other ladies there — i saw someone there getting her nails done in crazy detailed designs… but that wasn’t my nail tech. As she looks at my nails — they are bitten horribly, so i assumed we’d be getting acrylic but i wanted the design of the pic i texted her the night before. She gasped at my nails(they were bad) & told me the polish she’d be using was shellac & looked at me questionably. I’ve never heard of shellac(im not a nail girl)& returned the look she gave me(as in, GIVEMESOMEGUIDANCE). So we went ahead. It was so bad i stopped her & asked for acrylics. It annoys me she didnt stop to explain the differences & why I shouldn’t get shellac. So then i had to wait to get them off(shellac isnt like reg polish — it stays on for 2 weeks at a time). While waiting to get the shellac off, we started my pedi. I wouldn’t call it relaxing lol. It’s literally a bucket kitty litter box like with your choice of hot or warm water. We did the shellac on my toes, and it came horribly. It was streaky on my big toe(applied unevenly), some of the polish was on my cuticles(both feet) and worst of all, it looked nothing like the picture. the glitter pic i had requested was more of a ombré/gradiant flow of glitter while she just splat the glitter on my toes. Seriously? Side note: i came home from my honeymoon and now that I had time did my toes myself and they were a million times better! i feel so ripped off. So, once the feet were done, she begun the worst acrylic job i have ever had. First, i asked for pink & white. She told me yup, she has it… and then i realized they were sparkly. Sigh. I really had no time by then to leave the salon & go somewhere else. My schedule for the rest of the week was jam packed, and i was exhausted already. So I just sat there, in silent horror. Not only did my nails look like they belonged on a gypsy bride, but they were… oddly thick and uneven in thickness with each nail. it was SO weird. i mean, they were really thick! I’ll be doing my own manis and pedis for a long time…
