This place smell! There Meat are not fresh looking at all! They look disgusting! I don’t think I’ll ever buy meat here ever again! If I have to go back it’s probably for the Asian products.

I tend to come here a lot; and that’s saying something since i live on the other side of town. I actually have been coming here all of my life, so i’m pretty sure that has something to do with my loyalty — and NOTHING has changed about this place since the 80’s. Nothing! Which i find oddly comforting. Even the egg-Flintstone machine up front for the kiddies is still the same one i used to put my quarter in as a kid. I marvel at that, especially since when my son is old enough, he’ll be able to have the same experience at the grocery store as i did. Although i dont marvel at the fact that the rusty grocery carts are the same ones from the 80’s… ANYWAY. I come here for mostly the vegetables — they are cheap, and often when i compare them to other grocery stores(or super walmart’s produce, horror) they are better. i havent had any bad experiences out of the ordinary with the produce. From the veggies, i mosey on over to the meat. i know, i know. from the looks of the place, a lot of people won’t touch the meat, but i actually prefer shopping here for meat vs walmart & a lot of times Food Co(for at least red meat). Lastly, as someone mentioned, there is a big asian grocery section here and that’s worth two stars alone. I only come here for lumpia supplies(as i hear, so does half of hanford)! They actually have a decent latin grocery section as well. I believe they are open from 9am to 9pm but i wouldnt come here alone after dark, just because the area on this part of town isn’t the best. you can also take your cans here — there’s a place in the parking lot. Lastly, the customer service here is good — though the customers can be, uh interesting. Sometimes it’s my favorite part of an otherwise dull grocery trip, ha! PS — definitely check your expiration dates here.

Great supply of asian products. Who knew, in Hanford? Korean short ribs, bulgogi marinade, great selection of other sauces and product.

I try to avoid coming here at all costs. The store is pretty run down and has a weird smell… but that is not the ‘reason’ I chose not to come here. This place has come pretty crazy ‘rules’ that are posted, advising you of what you cannot bring into the store. Some examples are: backpacks, strollers, diaper bags etc. To some extent I understand the backpack thing, as I have seen other places utilize this to avoid students coming in and stealing. I disagree however with the strollers/diaper bag rule. As a parent, however not of any that are in strollers, do they really think that I am going to come in and do my grocery shopping all the while leaving my stroller/diaper bag outside unattended??? I think not, I will gladly take my business elswewhere. Another issue is on one ocassion I had needed to purchase some medicine. Forget it, they have everything from Tylenlo, Midol, Ex-lax and even CARMEX lip balm locked up behind a plastic case and to get anything from behind it an employee has to come and unlock it. It just seems like more of a hassle to come here than what it is worth.
