«Two is a gift» is a direct quote from my husband. The atmosphere is nice and the beer is good. The food really wasn’t. We should have ordered what other Unilocal reviewers recommended. I had the catfish with sides of «sautéed» green beans and sweet potato casserole. The catfish was good. the sides were terrible… couldn’t even stand the smell of the green beans which were mushy and cooked with bacon(not mentioned in the description on the menu). I love sweet potatoes and these were just mush and nasty. Hubby had the ribs, which were tough, but the fries were good. The waitress was nice and discounted our meals by 20%, but I certainly wouldn’t go back.

We stopped in after finding this on Unilocal. We shared two flights. Our favorites were the Jumping Frog IPA and King Arthur’s Court Imperial IPA. Great space and the bartender was very knowledgable. Only had chips and beer dip so can’t really comment on the food but they smoke their own meats and the smell was amazing. We will visit again next time we’re in Hannibal.

The sampling of brews was fabulous. Seems to be a new restaurant, that will only get better with time. Outstanding service! Look forward to eating there again on next visit to Hannibal. My suggestion is to offer a signature barbeque sauce to accompany the pulled pork they are smoking out back!

The portobello fries were delicious! The French fries are heavily seasoned in a BBQ sort rub, that was sweeter than I expected, but otherwise delicious. Burgers were excellent!

Came to hannibal to see mark twains house and smelled something super delicious as soon as we got into town. We got the dry rub chicken wings, flight for $ 4.50 and Sawyer’s blonde for $ 2.00. Food and craft beers were so delicious and prices could not be beat! Our server Logan was super friendly and helpful too.

I had the pulled pork sandwich with homemade seasoned chips and it was delicious! The sampler suited me and the Habenero Apricot beer was great!

I’m kind of shocked by all the bad reviews for this place. Being a vegetarian in a small town for a few days, I didn’t really bother to do much research on restaurants. I figured if I could find any restaurant with a vegetarian option, I’d be lucky. Thankfully, our hotel sent us here. Their vegetarian section isn’t huge, but everything I had was tasty. The black bean burger came with avocado and spinach and other tasty toppings, their fries were deliciously seasoned and expertly fried, and, best of all: their portobello fries. Oh man. Crispy, juicy, and filling as all get-out, they could be a meal all their own. I also enjoyed the various beers I tried, though I have to say the Riverboat Red and the Apricot Habanero were my favorites. The first is so dark it almost tastes like a porter, but it’s so malty and delicious and still satisfied my desire for a red. The Apricot Habanero is a wheat beer, and I’m not normally crazy on those, but this was balanced perfectly and utterly refreshing, with just a slight spice catching up to you as you drink. The servers were always great, too. I was in town during the steampunk festival, and most of the crew got into the spirit with costumes and accessories, and even though the restaurant was surely more crowded than usual, everything moved at a great pace, and everyone working there seemed happy. I think I ate here about four times over the course of the weekend, as I didn’t have the time to tempt fate by trying out another restaurant’s vegetarian options, and every visit was enjoyable. When I come back for another steampunk fest, this place will be my first destination after checking into a hotel.

Our waitress was attentive and very professional. The food was mediocre at best. The fries were over seasoned while the chicken club was bland and dry. The house chips could use some seasoning, that would make them mind blowing. Don’t bother with the pulled pork… Mushed pork is what it should be called, not recommended. Great looking building, amazing potential, menu needs a refresh.

I almost pasted over this place based on the negative remarks. I am so glad I didn’t listen. The beer was great! The food was very good and no long wait. The waitress took great care of us. I have no complaint. I ordered the pastrami reuben there was a nice bark on the sliced meat that tasted great. My wife had the pulled pork which she loved. The fries were hot and crisp.

This is such and outstanding brewery gem on the Mississippi River. First of all the beer is fantastic, I prefer the habanero apricot brew but all of them are great. Try the Red or the delicious IPA beer too. But most importantly grab a growler or three and take some of this beer home. Furthermore, the food is just as good as the beer with their own smoker there to make delicious pulled pork and more! The bar atmosphere is my favorite part of the bar but the rooftop view is very pleasant. I would highly recommend stopping in here whether you are a beer enthusiast or just looking for a great place to get a bite to eat, Mark Twain Brewing company is the place to go in Hannibal!

I have tried this establishment twice as Hannibal does not have many great places to eat. First time they had just opened and it was a Saturday night. We were there just shy of 2 hours. Service was terrible. Tried today at lunch time. we got seated and ordered very quickly but took a long time to get our food as we watched our waitress eat her lunch and then go take a smoke break it took along time for her to check us out in between her breaks. Food is Ok not great not bad… but service is a deal breaker for me. Environment is awesome just need to train their staff better for the price point they are charging for food.

2 ½ stars… rounded up. The burgers were fine. The chips and fries were nicely seasoned. That’s about the best we could day about our entrees. The smoked sausage is mostly bread. I ordered a flight of their in-house craft beers. They were all good. The habanero apricot beer had a very unique flavor. The scrapbook ale was my favorite, reminded me of Sam Adams Boston Lager. Décor and ambiance were both very cool.

Beautiful venue, one of a kind spot in Hannibal. Great bar and dining area, upstairs bar with views of the Mississippi River, and an outdoor rooftop patio that is great for basking in the sunshine. They have live music on various weekdays and weekends. Cheers!

Food was ok. Portobello mushroom appetizer and the nacho appetizerss left us speechless(in a good way), Service was very slow(along with the restaurant) and they were out of one of the biggest well know items(garden burger). Their beer was ok but I’ve had much better craft beer.

Interesting beer menu. Hubby ordered two and enjoyed both of them. Staff a little disjointed, but once they realized we weren’t being helped by any of the people that walked past us, they seemed to go out of their way to ensure we had a good experience. Nice, large space — reminds me of a large, urban spot. I ordered the mushroom/Swiss burger with pub chips. The chips were a little too crisp for me, but hubby thought they were perfect. The burger was really good and just the right size. Hubby ordered a bowl of chili and the portion was huge! He liked the chili, but just needed to add a little extra hot sauce to it to give it that extra kick. We would certainly stop here again next time we are in town.

Very urban feeling brew house with a fun menu in a great location. This Bw house is what Hannibal needed to attract more people from cities to stay and spend a few more dollars! They have a great selection of beers, and the mushroom Swiss burger was great. The staff was welcoming and cheerful when we were there late last night after an event.

I’ve been to this place twice. First time was shortly after opening. It was very busy and service was understandably rather slow. Second time was less busy but there was still a nice crowd. The service definitely seemed to have improved. My burger was excellent, definitely better than the first time. They have a nice selection of home brews and while nothing I’ve had so far was extraordinary they were pretty good. I’ve had the Molly Brown and the Kolsch style. I really hope this place continues to improve and stays consistent. I think it could be a great asset to Hannibal’s downtown area. –UPDATE– May 2015 Visited again a few weeks ago. Went on a weekend at an odd daytime hour so it was pretty slow. Had the quesadilla which was no frills but damn good. Buddy had a fried mushroom starter which was also on point. Had the kolsch like usual, still good. Service was attentive. I only make it there when Im in from out of town, bit it seems like they’re improving. I really hope this place sticks around.
