I called in yesterday because I was having a skin EMERGENCY. My usually clear skin was having a crisis, and threw me into a spiral because of it. I called the Face Place and in the heat of my meltdown was failing to describe the problem. The courteous woman on the phone told me no problem, that they could book me for an hour for their latest appointment(I work in Quincy until 6) and that they could do a consultation to best address my concerns. I went in, and was taken in immediately by Diane, the miracle worker. I left there with a rosy but clear face and marching orders from Diane to continue my face treatment. I followed her instructions and woke up with a clear and youthful looking face this morning, and practically cried with joy! Diane and Face Place staff, thank you so much for treating my face(and by nature myself) off the ledge.

They give wonderful facials. I have had one regular facial and three express facials. Their express facials are about 45 minutes which is much longer than I was used to at other places. My Mom also really enjoyed a pedicure that she got here.

Do NOT come here. If I could give this a zero star I would. I went here to get my makeup done for prom and Louise, the«makeup artist» did me up. I asked her not to give me eyeliner but she did. Even after i said stop. I asked her to stop doing my eyes but she continued, im very sensitive with eye products. I then looked in the mirror… I wish I hadnt… I looked HORRENDUS(not exagerating) i had mascara on my eye lids and under eyes. My eye lids were sore. My facial blemishes were so uncovered it looked like I had nothing on(i specifaclly asked for heavy coverage), I had a disguisting copper colored lip stick and eye shadow on and she screwed up the eyeliner I requested not to have done, so I had one eye with a gray line on it and the other with a green color because she tried to «even it out» my blush was also too concentrated. I was very upset. I gracefully paid because i was late(she didnt time it right) When I got in the car I cried and my mom said it looked terrible(not to be mean of course) i had to go to CVS and buy makeup and take hers off and do it myself which looked a hell of alot better and I wish I did it myself in the first place. I was very late for prom pictures so Im only in a few. I then went to get my money back the next day. Over the phone she said she thought she covered it and did a good job but shell give me a gift certificate. I said no i want the money back i never want to come back, so she agreed to return my money. She seemed calm over the phone but when i went to the store, she was working on another victim – erm client – so I got a bagel and waited in the car and when I came back in she met me in the food court, pulled the money out of her bra(it was wet by the way) and said«The only reason Im giving this back is because it was prom and you had a bad time because of it(not true i was just upset) you kept saying you didnt want the colors i picked(not true) so here.» I tried to get a word in to tell her what i wasnt happy with But then she said«you kids are dangerous with your Facebook» as she was walking away and yelled«NEVERCOMEBACK» i didnt expect a seemingly sweet 65 year old woman to say this. So please save yourself the trouble. Dont come here!

Uuuuuuuuggggghhhhhh whyyyyyyyyyyyy ??? I had had such a good experience there my first time around for a pedicure I was excited to go back for a massage and full leg wax before a vacation. The massage was great but the wax was TERRIBLE !!! Ok, waxing hurts in general but when you go through a bunch of discomfort with no result uuuuuuugggggghhhh. I am not hairy by nature but without getting into detail, the employee(very nice) did an AWFUL job. I tried to contact the Face Place about the issue and was informed, by the owner, that there must be something wrong with me and that the presumed baby sounds in the background, on the phone, needed to be babysat so I could«get fixed up». This was the owner… stating there was something wrong with my legs and that noises she heard needed a babysitter when I described my inability to just run down to her spa/den of waxing failure. Uuuuugggghhhhh so baaaaaad. #FAILURETOWAX

Went in with my daughter and Niece for a Mani. 1st& last time I will ever go back there. The only person that was nice was the woman that did my mani. The front desk clerk was rude. Has no customer service skills and makes you feel like your not good enough to be in there shop. I’m sorry I don’t drive a BMW or a Rolls Royce darling but my money and time is just as good as everyone else! I would never recommend this place to anyone. Just a bunch of snobs in this place!

The Face Place is my go-to for all things spa: manis, pedis, facials, massages even spray tanning. Everything is always spot on. The staff are so friendly. I used to always see Fran for manis and pedis, but once made an appointment on a day she wasn’t available. I made an appointment with another girl only to discover that ALL the employees are skilled and friendly. I don’t trust anyone else to touch my eyebrows besides face place staff!

Had a groupon for a facial and a mani pedi. Had the facial done and made an appt for a Mani Pedi another day(even though it would have been after the groupon expired). The woman at the front desk said they would do that — it was no big deal. When I was coming in for my appt the owner didn’t agree with that set up. So I never got my Mani Pedi. Their loss because they have lost out on years of future Manis, Pedis and Facials. Ouch!

I hadn’t been to Face Place in a long time as the woman I used to use for waxing left. Decided to try again and made an appt. I arrived at 9:55 for a 10:00am appt. Happened to run into a friend waiting who told me she was in area so popped in and was hoping they could squeeze her in for a quick wax. At 10:07 the woman doing my treatment came out(7 minutes late, no big deal). She then proceeded to tell my friend(who didn’t have an appt.) she was ready for her. Now I would have happily let my friend go quickly if someone had asked, especially since I knew her. But I was amazed(not in a positive way) that after coming out late to begin, with no apology, they would then squeeze someone in and expect me to then wait another 20 – 25 minutes for my appt. without any acknowledgement!!! Luckily my friend realized and told her she would wait until I was done. The woman seemed put off by this. Had a bikini wax and she went so fast that seemed she missed spots. I politely asked if she could make sure to get some areas(we were talking a basic bikini wax here, not anything crazy and she just didn’t put any wax down). She stated she had already done those areas. I wasn’t going to argue but later checked and it was a waste of money as I am not sure what she actually waxed! I don’t know why they make you go to a different room for bikini and eyebrow waxing but they do. So you then have to get all your things and walk back out and get resettled. Poor layout and planning. But I do so, she does my eyebrows quickly. I think TOTAL even with switching rooms I was in there 12 minutes. She didn’t even look at what she was doing which was witnessed by the fact that she took off half of one eyebrow. It was so uneven and horrendous. Plus, the other eyebrow still had hair everywhere which I then had to go home and tweeze(if I could get it, so could she!) She was rude, dismissive and did an awful job on top of it. A waste of money and time. Sounds like this unfortunately has happened before if you read the filtered reviews.

I made an appointment for a massage with a woman who I had been to before and decided to get my eye brows waxed after, I didn’t have an appointment but they had a spot for me right after. The esthetician(if that is what they called her) looked like a clown and her eyebrows were half moon shaped and thought that I had too much myself– she took more than half of my eye brows off to the point that when I saw them and SCREAMED(they are stencil thin at this point) she told me that«I should be embarrased of the way I looked when I came in». She had to literally PAINT my eyebrows back on, I was so embarrased of the way that I looked after I couldn’t wait to leave, I couldn’t stop crying. The Manage, of course, was not there, when I called a week later to complain there was no remorse, apology or explanation as to how a Salon of that magnitude could have such a monster working for them. It’s unfortunate because I loved my massage therapist and will NEVER go back there again. Whenever anyone asks where to go for any wax services, I automatically tell them NOT to go to The Face Place in Hanover, because you will end up looking like a clown when you leave if you have the one that looks like a clown wax you. I am still so angry at how unprofessional the entire experience was. The paint washed away a few days later and I had to «pencil in» the rest of my eyebrows for 3 weeks until they started to grow back!

Came here for my first shellac manicure ever(well, my only shellac manicure ever. I typically gnaw on my nails until they bleed — gross, but true… but it was for my wedding and so I treated myself to some pretty nails…). The place was immaculate and the staff was so pleasant and welcoming. My manicurist and I had normal conversation for the 45 minutes it took to make my hands look like a bride’s hands should. And my nails came out perfectly — AND lasted 2.5 weeks, for a price quite reasonable in comparison to neighboring nail salons. If I could stop biting my nails, I would come back on a regular basis.

A great and wide variety of services reasonably priced. Atmosphere is fun, classy, relaxing and neat as a pin. Owner is a hot ticket and very knowledgeable, accommodating as well as a terrific sense of humor. She, and the rest of her staff, knows her stuff. Had my colors analyzed there. Worth every penny. Will return for more services and will recommend to my friends.

The Face Place is the place to go on the south shore for day spa services. They are clean, fun and are always accomodating! The best thing is that they are always looking for the«next level» to compete with Boston spas. They have awesome eyelash extensions, and the new Shellac nails.
