Came in with a rather large group, about 30 people actually. However, we called a day in advance to let them know we would have this large of a group. The service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced, and I always give some slack when eating out with large parties. Although we had 2 servers, they were very inexperienced. Took over an hour to get a water, and 2 hours for the food. Servers didn’t know who ordered what, and when it came time for the checks, they had to go back through the table and ask everyone what they ordered. Meanwhile the owner sat at the bar drinking, extremely unprofessional. He didn’t so much as pick up a plate to help his overworked staff. The cook actually had to come out and bus our table. On top of this they then had the audacity to charge the whole table a 20% gratuity. Would not recommend.

I am very surprised at the reviews below. The Bavarian Brauhaus is not dull or old. Obviously you never came to this restaurant when it was Gunnings, Gunnings was old and dull for sure. The owners who purchased Gunnings have completely redone and updated the entire venue. Creating more seating areas, bar space and overall, spending money in all the right places – the bathroom and bar. The bar is absolutely gorgeous with the granite they selected and the bathrooms are 5+ star. If you liked Blob’s Park, you may actually want to come here when Bavarian Brauhaus has guest performers. It does get crowded and loud so if your someone who complains don’t come on one of these nights. I have come here a total of four times now since they opened. Every experience has been great, from the customer service to the food. They are within walking distance of my house and since they have a huge beer list we frequent this spot a lot.

Five stars. Five stars into eternity. Came here with my friends and we ordered a lot of food. Potato pancakes! SOGOOD. They taste like the kind my Bubbie makes. Again tho, this is a German place. Not a Kosher Deli. It was that good. Mazel tov! Red corned beef! It was an open face sandwich with red shredded cabbage. I got it with their fries. Yo. Let me not even play. Stop reading this review, go there right now, and order this. Then come back and message me and go «Yea dude this was amazing you’re so right» and then right a review strictly for the red corned beef. The fries were out of this world too. German pretzel with assorted mustard! Let’s just stop the pleasantries now because if you’re still reading this and not driving there this very moment to try this, you are a terrible person. But don’t read and drive because that’s bad. Chocolate cake! SOURKRAUTDONUTS. YOOOOO the cake was good BUTTHESEDONUTSARELIFECHANGING I TOTALLYFOUNDJESUSINTHEM. The beer is also killer. Bachs and stouts and Oktoberfests and we even did a shot or two. We even had Romulan Ale, which is only reserved for the very best of the best, aka Trekkies. Star Trek fans for you less cultured people. Live long and prosper. Service was great. The older gentleman who served us really knew his German shit, and his apparent love for this place, the food, and people shows. I will absolutely be back, maybe even this week!

I was taken here last night for dinner. I would like to see this place survive but last night, it was pretty empty. It’s not even a shadow of its predecessor, Blobs Park, which was always pure fun and Magic! Something must be done to ratchet up the food which even at Blobs became dull and uninteresting. But I never went to Blobs for their food anyway because I knew it was always substandard. Just went there to dance. Excellent service by new waiter John. He was very personable and helpful. I had a dozen Blue Point Oysters as an appetizer. Tiniest oysters I’ve had in a long time, but tasty. They could have been bigger. For my entrée, I got Sauerbraten which was tasty but could have been at least twice as flavorful if spiced up a bit. The GERMAN Potato Salad was the most disappointing I’ve ever had and yes, I’ve been to Germany and Austria. The Red Cabbage? Dull, dull, dull! I tasted my companions’ Potato Dumpling and Sauerkraut, also dull beyond belief! This was the reason we gave up having dinner at Blob’s years ago!!! This place needs an infusion of new blood in the kitchen just to survive! There’s bound to be a young GERMAN chef who could make this place thrive! Ok, my 3 stars is a nostalgic throwback to what I remember of Blobs Park Magic. It was a courtesy to the owner!

I have been dying to check this place out since they opened and finally did this past weekend for my Birthday. I grew up on classic German dishes like Sour Beef(Sauerbraten) but never had the courage to seek it out in a restaurant and try it. The Sour Beef here was good, gravy was on par but the dumplings and beef could have been better but it could all be what I am used to as well. The other food was good as well, sausage platter, soups and everything else we ordered was good. German potato salad was awesome! The beer and drinks were cheap and perfect, the beer selection is good, while not extensive, there are some great selections. Will be back!

Do not be scared off by the fact that it’s not busy — it SHOULD be! The food is authentic German and is delicious, as is the beer. We had spectacular service. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and able to describe and recommend the perfect meals. My husband had the assorted sausage platter(appetizer) with a side of sauerkraut and I had the Shepherds Pie special. A-maze-ING. Grab your lederhosen and give it a try!

What a pleasant discovery, this hidden spot along the I-95 corridor. My in-laws decided on an anniversary dinner here, and it turned out to be a great experience. Let’s start with the service, which was great. Our server had to handle an entire family(7 adults, 1 teen, 3 children, and a baby). Yes, occasionally she forgot something minor, but she always apologized and fixed it right away. Even when the mistake was ours, they took care of us, such as replacing a spilled beer(that was mostly drunk) with a completely new, full one. The owner even showed his support for our group with a special treat for the occasion. Now onto the food, which was really good and brought back memories. Wurst, spätzle, kartoffelkloesse, etc… all excellent. Our party was raving about their various dishes, while I really enjoyed my wienerschnitzel. I think the only disappointment was that they had no soft pretzels that night! Oh, and desserts… wow. Their strudel is the softest pastry I’ve ever had, while I couldn’t believe the size of the German chocolate cake. Beers? Drinks? They have a full bar with tons of imported beers from overseas. I couldn’t even go into all of them, except that the Ayinger Dunkel was quite tasty and we all had a nice round of Peach Schnapps. Now, some people complain about the location and I think that’s the only downside. This place is located down a long dead-end road, which ends at a strip mall, an office building, and a Red Roof Inn. It doesn’t look that great, although once inside it is quite pleasantly decorated and kept. I think it’s emptiness is more because no one knows it’s back there, rather than because of it’s locale, food, or service. A shame, because this is a hidden treasure of that area and I wish more people would be patrons. So, if you’re in the mood for some good Bavarian fare and brews, then this is the place for you. Prost!

I’m so conflicted about this place. The ambiance is very strip mall and unimpressive. I walked into a nearly empty bar/restaurant area that was too brightly lit and felt like a German Applebee’s. However, I was helped quickly by a woman in village German attire and seating and served quickly. Most of the lunch dishes are German faves but as sandwiches. I suppose a hungry person would appreciate this but I wanted something more traditional. I was able to order off the dinner menu during lunch, so got some schnitzel and cold potato salad. But I found the $ 25 a plate charge staggering! It came with THREE mustard choices, which was a delight to my senses. They also have a few German beers. Overall, I’m happy I got my schnitzel fix but I’m not willing to pay these prices for the product so probably won’t go back for anything but sausage and beer in the future with friends.
