I loved Blue Ridge, can’t wait to make the trip again. Not that packed like most lakes around holidays, and the people there are friendly. The campsites are really nice, and spacious. Take a canoe, aluminum fishing boat or any water object to enjoy even more.

I took my kids to Blue Ridge at the end of of July. We left North Phoenix around 12pm temperature 108 F. We arrived at 3PM with a perfect temperature of 82 °F. We took the boat out about 4 miles north trolling along the steep cliffs and big pine trees. It got dark pretty quick so we didn’t have much time for trout fishing this time.

Nothing beats kayaking when you have the beautiful scenery like what the Blue Ridge Reservoir can provide. Went there without any admission fee, and because it wasn’t busy, we didn’t feel rushed unloading and loading our kayaks from the boat ramp. It was a nice lazy Wednesday afternoon just enjoying one of northern Arizona’s hidden gems. The road to it is only gravel, so if you drive your car with you, just be prepared for the road and lots of dust. No trash collection so clean up after yourselves, and there is a freestanding bathroom but without running water.
