I go here a lot for their seafood. Especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays, they have half of oysters! All of their food is really good. The servers are kind of off… But I will always love their food!

Omg, almost passed the place up, so glad we didn’t. The outside looks like dive but trust me inside is not. And the food is delish! We started with couple pounds of boiled crawfish perfectly seasoned. Main course– we split half a seafood muffalotta with side of jambalaya grits… to die for! Lots of food. We will be back. If they were open Sundays, we’d be back tomorrow! ;-)

Awesome specials! Tues and wed they have a dozen oysters for $ 5.95! On top of that they have some if the best crawfish prices in town. Very good food and service!

I kind of hope people don’t discover what a hidden gem this place is because it will be packed! Seriously, this place is in my top 3 best places for seafood in NOLA. The service is friendly and down home… you feel like you’re family here. Everything I’ve had on the menu I have enjoyed. The boiled crawfish early this spring were kind of smallish, but their boil is spicy and great! And the fries… their fries are handcut and very unique… I have cravings for them! You won’t be disappointed.

The return of a classic seafood restaurant location with new ownership that still honors New Orleans traditional seafood classics along with some good Italian dishes. Fresh, live, fried and boiled seafood is offered along with alligator. Muffulettas, po boys and hamburgers are also on offer. A great spot to check out for lunch or dinner.

I almost passed this place up. Glad I did a U-turn! Crawfish are excellent and the gumbo is a local favorite. I’ll be back.

The raw oysters were good. The gumbo was tasty but came in a VERYSMALL cup. The biggest disappointment was the poor boy… the bread tasted like fake French bread. New Orleans has the best French bread bakeries in the world. How can a restaurant owner not get that right? The waiter brought over the owner who became very defensive when I tried to give her feedback. She was rude and wanted me to leave. I won’t be returning and that makes me sad. I’ve brought many friends to this restaurant over the years.

Recently ate at this neighborhood restaurant. It was around 2:30 and I was the only person in there. I found the food to be very over priced for a neighborhood joint. It was not inviting or friendly. Also the service was slow. I will not be returning.

The best local restaurant in New Orleans area! We tried a variety of dishes and all were great! My favorite was the Jambalaya Grits ! My husband’s said his was a toss– up between the crayfish and the oysters ! We’ll be back !

My husband ordered the meatball PO-Boy because he’s not a fan of seafood, it was frozen meatballs and not good at all, he said it tasted like spagett o’s. Gross, we will not be returning here.

This place has great boiled seafood and is much improved over the former owners. I’m a fan of the former owner, but he never quite got this place right. The couple of «fancy» dishes I’ve had(a jambalaya, a soft-shell crab dish) were obscenely heavy, in the way that traditional N.O. seafood joints prepared food. That’s not my thing, but the flavors were good even if the calorie count was about a week’s worth. The gumbo was uninspired. But you come to a neighborhood seafood joint for a big pile of crawfish or shrimp or crabs, and they do those as well as anyone. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. This is the new go-to place for boiled seafood.

New ownership! New menu is amazing. I loved the chargrilled oysters and jambalaya grits are my favorites, but I a had grilled tuna to keep things lite. I will be back! I loved how they transformed an old Harahan restaurant into a new orginal

This place is a Harahan staple, and I’m very glad it was reopened under new ownership after Frank Brigsten pretty much got forced out over the whole rent dispute issue. We got there around 4 on a Friday afternoon, so luckily beat the Friday Lent rush. We were seated and waited… and waited… Group that came in after us(think they were regulars there) placed their drink and appetizer orders before we were even acknowledged. We were about to walk out, but our waitress noticed us, and was very apologetic, and she was great the remainder of the meal. Our party got 2 Charlie platters and a shrimp platter. The seafood platters came with a decent gumbo-lots of shrimp and okra. I ordered the coleslaw instead of salad, and the coleslaw was very disappointing and bland. The platters were all pretty good. I would go here again, but Seithers will remain my go to seafood place in Harahan because their menu has such a good variety.

The newly re-opened Charles Seafood(no more Charlie’s) is worth a visit for good boiled seafood and the jambalaya grits are a nice twist on two Louisiana staples. The place is more of a return to a classic local seafood restaurant with some Italian dishes thrown in for good measure.
