The Ridge Bistro, well let me say my parents told me about this place. I thought«how good can a place like this be? I’ve never seen it before?!» As I had always driven right by. Well we finally gave it a try and man, I am glad we did. The food has never disappointed us! Consistently good and served well. We have children and they all give it a thumbs up too. I love the shrimp and grits, my husband loves the Chicken Marsala pasta the kids burgers actually good and I ALWAYS have to order the shrimp florentine soup. You can taste the delicious seafood boil mmmmm. Although, if you’re sensitive to spice then maybe go a different route. I can’t wait to try their lunch menu, specifically the chicken salad sandwich!!! ***My only complaint ~the one time my parents, myself and my family brought my sister and brother in law, whom live out of town, to the restaurant we were raving about, service was horrible, food was still great but the girl serving us seemed out of it and uninterested in really helping us. We found ourselves apologizing to our guests who we brought here and raved about how good they were. That was disappointing **(PLEASE note, this has only happened one time) every other visit has been wonderful!

Sat night prime rib!!! The best!!! This place is a real sleeper for anyone outside of Harahan. The entrees are to die for, very reasonably priced. The $$ rating is right on and we don’t have the $$$ rate for a really good menu.

I ordered the tuna salad and it did not disappoint. The tuna was very fresh and the presentation was equal to a formal restaurant. It was very busy during lunch when I was there but the food was serve in a reasonable time frame. These guys know what they are doing when it comes to food. This is a hidden gem.

First time here I got the prime rib special & it was delicious. My husband got the redfish which was also delicious. It’s a quiet hidden place in Harahan with very good food. We will return.

The Ridge has remained a great and consistent lunch option in the area. Update mainly because having eaten here a lot due to work proximity my recommendations have changed. I still like the Reuben but the salads and entrees mostly take up my time. The seared tuna salad and the pork chop entrée are both excellent and are really good value for money. Also the white beans and shrimp is stick to your ribs awesome. Red beans on Monday are a tasty alternative.

This is a cute little place to come to lunch, we had about six people for lunch and we were all able to get different yummy things. I really wanted the Spicy Bird, but they were out of bacon and didn’t say anything about adjusting the price so I opted for the Smoke Portobello Wrap and a side of grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables were doused in butter, so in reality they were not much healthier than the potato chips, but delicious. The Smokes Portobello Wrap was delicious but had a tad too much spinach on it. I wish there was some extra red peppers on it. I asked for an extra tea, and the person behind the counter just put tea in my cup. She didn’t offer to put in ice or lemon and I had to ask her to do it… and she still didn’t put in lemon. Overall the food was good, and I would return again.

Great, small, hidden spot in the heart of Harahan. Good for going with a group of people, since you can pay individually at the register. The Ridge has great daily specials, such as red beans and rice on Monday, but get there early, as they do sometimes sell out. My favorite thing– the chicken salad on a croissant, but I haven’t had anything bad or anything I wouldn’t order again. I’ve only been for lunch, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

What a «Twilight Zone» experience. The food is good, except for the cheap chips that are served as a side. Also, do not have an open kitchen or a window to the kitchen if the kitchen staff are going to be eating or wiping their nose while preparing my food. This place came highly recommended but no high on the list of regular spots. I will try it again.

A friend told me that Ridge Bistro is the same guy that used to run the deli counter at Cellars of River Ridge. I would have never noticed this place located in the little shopping center with Subway and Taqueria Corona. I went in to the small place and walked up to the counter. The owner was standing there and I said hello and asked if he was the guy from Cellars. I told him I came because a friend had told me this was his restaurant and that I liked his food at Cellars. He seemed very uninterested… In front him I ordered the ham and swiss on French Bread specifically saying that I wanted it like how he used to make it next door. The waitress behind the counter seemed a little confused and asked how to ring it up. Since the owner knew I was specifically coming in here for the sandwich like he used to make, I figured he would have made sure that the kitchen prepared it correctly. Instead he went into his office and never came back out. While I waited, the waitress behind the counter was extremely nice. The place was half full at lunch and she seemed to be taking care of all tables. When I got back to the office with the sandwich, it was a hot ham and cheese, nothing like what I wanted. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad, just I had knew it wasn’t going to be right since the owner didn’t seem to care. Maybe the owner was having a bad day, but I figured he would be excited to learn that a customer from Cellars was coming in to support him but I guess not. I will go back and support this restaurant because I like supporting local small businesses but I would hope that in return the owner would appreciate his customers.

Y’all know this is my cousin’s joint so I try to go back when I’m in the area and support his efforts. Last night I had(for the 2nd or 3rd time) the yummy tuna salad which is sashimi grade tuna seared and served over greens. The tuna was melt in your mouth delicious. I’m also a fan of the shrimp wrap and the pecan crusted redfish. The daily specials are inventive and all that I’ve tasted are delicious. He does have vegetarian items on the menu, like an eggplant sandwich and a portabello wrap, as well as many meaty items. The Saturday night special is usually prime rib. They’ve just expanded to the space next door so they can use it as an overflow dining room on busy days and he’s now booking holiday parties. While lunch is order at the counter(which is great if you’re with a group… no bill splitting), dinner does offer table service.

The waitresses are fantastic… they worked so hard and literally ran to keep up with the customers. The food… meh, I have experienced better. Had a dry«Rueben sandwich» with corn beef on swirled rye bread with potato chips. The gave the sauce on the side, which was weird. Meh.

Without Jennifer B.‘s recent review I wouldn’t even know this place existed. Some coworkers an I went here recently for lunch. Any time I find a place with a reuben on the menu I always know what I’ll be ordering. With a sandwich so iconic it’s easy to use it as a measure of the quality of the food. Ridge Bistro is self seating with minimal table service. You order at a counter and the person behind the counter delivers the food once it is ready. Ridge Bistro came in quite solid in the food department. The reuben was served with a small side of potato chips(sub fries for a little extra). When we got to the Bistro there was only one other table seated so we got our order quickly. While we were eating the place filled up nicely, but with only a single person working the counter(and I’m not sure how many in the kitchen) I’m not sure that speed could keep up with the new patrons. We’ll probably be back. There were some menu items I’d like to try.

Have you ever been told of a business, only to discover that you have drove past it 100000x and never noticed? Then, when you finally visit, you feel horrible that you have been missing out this entire time? Yep, that happened. I now have a new place to go for a quick, delicious, filling, and reasonably priced lunch. The sandwiches are huge and topped with fresh ingredients. I had a turkey sandwich loaded with spinach & avocado on a grain-filled bread. Oh, and a messy but very awesome honey mustard dressing. This was delish and under $ 10. The entire menu looks awesome, so that means I’ll have to return and try more yummy food. Isn’t discovering new places fun?(Thanks, Jen L, for introducing me!)

Being nearby the homestead, I’m not sure why the family didn’t go there more often but recent times find us visiting more and more. The food’s real good and so are the prices.

Eggplant lovers, unite! Eggplant stuffed eggplant, anyone? This was delectable: fried spears of eggplant with eggplant stuffing nestled in between with huge Gulf shrimp and smothered in a fra diavolo sauce. This was not what I was expecting when we pulled up to this tiny spot in a nondescript strip mall in Harry-han. I also didn’t expect the place to be humming with patrons, many of whom appeared to be repeat customers. Families, friends and couples sharing laughs and a good meal. The best part? BYOB with no corkage fee! I also enjoyed their French onion soup: dark, rich beef broth with gooey Gruyère. I would be happy to come back and try some of the po-boys listed, as they all looked like great variations of classics.

I never thought the day would come when I would say that I have a 100% GREATTIMEINHARAHAN… But yes, the day has come. I visited Ridge Bistro with some lovely ladies on a Friday Night to do some New Year catching up. The staff was friendly and all smiles and I like smiles at night so that was perfect for me! Once we were seated, I had a chance to try the Hummus appetizer. Normally, I HATE hummus and everything about it; but while here I have their’s a try and actually enjoyed it and let’s just say I tried to finish off as much hummus as possible. If nothing else this place is worth trying for the Hummus! For my entrée I had the Chicken Marsala Pasta which was yummy chicken, smoked ham, and yummy mushrooms in it. I had EVERY intention of taking some home, but sadly my stomach would not allow me to do that and I had to eat it all. Everything on that menu is just like yummy comfort food in my opinion. The environment is a great place for family outings. Many families, even young kids can be found in this restaurant. It also helps that you can bring your own wine in and they will pour it up for you and everything! Definitely try out this place, great for a quiet evening and low key dinner. Note: Fridays, its definitely the happening place to go in Harahan so may be a tad bit of a wait if you go around 5:30−7pm. Ample parking, so there is no worries there. The thing that amused me the most was the fact that it was next door to a Jazzercise place, I didn’t realize actually centers exist! You can look in the windows people! If this is not incentive enough to try this place I don’t know what is. Make sure to get your direction together if you not normally in the Harahan area, you may get a little lost trying to find the place. Overall this was a great experience at Ridge Bistro.
