Okay Pros: Staff is wonderful and friendly. Rooms are perfect for the price and the gym was always empty. Cons: Far from NOLA so expect a 15 – 20 über or 30 for a cab. Breakfast was the same every day and there was hardly any fruit and hardly any wheat options. There’s literally no water except for in the gym as well. Things to keep in mind: There’s not too many restaurants around here so you will need to travel to eat(unless your cool with chains). Rooms have a small kitchen which is great! Also I must say again the staff is amazingly kind

Stayed here over a weekend while visiting New Orleans. Usual assortment of complimentary amenities for a Towneplace: Wifi, full kitchen, sofa, fitness center, pool, hot breakfast, and parking. Older but well maintained facility. I had a slow drain and shower valve that would not close all the way, and both glitches were fixed(shower valve replaced) by the time I got back to the hotel. The cable connection for the television was a little more problematic. It turned on, had audio, but no picture. Front desk attendant came twice, futzed with the cable connector, and it worked both times. Not a good record over a three-day stay. The Towneplace was a good base to explore Metaire and New Orleans during the Mardi Gras celebration. A good number of shops and restaurants were also nearby too. I would return here again when I visit New Orleans next, despite the minor glitches. Will repeat and recommend!

Good clean place to stay, and the staff was very friendly. But it not ideal if you’re traveling to the city every day. It is not easily accessible to public transportation, if it was the bus would still take you over an hour to get into town. Über doesn’t normally come this far out. We got the number of one of the drivers and called him directly. None of this is a direct reflection on the hotel. As I said the staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was extensive and tasted okay. There were a few minor issues for me, bit they were all inconsequential. The number one thing it had going for it is that it is quiet. Quiet seems to be a premium in New Orleans. If I come again, I would want to find a inexpensive place in the city that would save me money on transportation.

The first hotel I’ve ever stayed in where I was called 20 minutes after I checked in to make sure everything was perfect. The room is really clean the bed was awesome. The only thing we can make this hotel a little better would be to clean the carpet in the hallways. It really takes away from an otherwise amazing experience. I stayed here before Katrina it with my eight-year-old daughters. it’s certainly not five-star but it delivers a very peaceful experience, I recommend it for any film crew thats coming into the area… there’s plenty to do and like to see it only 4 miles from the lake so if you bring your kayak your golden

Stayed here in early September, not really knowing what to expect. First real trip to New Orleans, and I was able to crash here for two nights on points. Let’s start with location. The hotel is mid-way between New Orleans Airport and downtown New Orleans, so it’s in a pretty good spot. Parking is plentiful(and free), and the hotel is right behind a Popeyes Chicken, near several big box stores, and a movie theater. Now, the room. It was a cozy room, functional and comfortable. The A/C worked well(very important!), the bed was very comfortable, and I had no complaints about the shower at all. The only thing about the room was that the person beneath you can hear you if you walk too hard or drop something, as the person above me was doing just that… until about 5am. We will deduct a star for that. They do have a free breakfast daily, which I had an opportunity to try. To me the sausage patties were a bit too salty and the ham was a bit too dry. I ended up with coffee and juice instead(you really can’t mess that up). We will deduct one more star for that. They have an outdoor pool right in front of the main entrance. The pool area is gated off, and at night when the pool is closed, they secure the gate with one of those tubular bicycle locks. Hey, whatever works, right? Overall, it is what it is: A place where you can lay your head. No real fancy frills or anything like that. It was just OK to me though.

NOTPETFRIENDLY! I booked a reservation and when I arrived I was told to read the pet policy, which I’m thankful the night auditor told me to do so. It stated if I received so much as one complaint I would be asked to remove my dog from the property. For barking? So they’re pet friendly? If it’s a stuffed animal. I explained the situation to the women working and at first she came off rude but I don’t think she meant to. I told her immediately that my last hotel stay resulted in a complaint after my dog barked over construction and a very ridiculous complaint for three minutes of barking. That’s when she was very professional and informative. The part I don’t get is that you would have to remove your pet from the property. In this case WE would be going. Would the business have me send him off with a Charlie Brown nap sack? Ridiculous policy.

Nice clean comfortable hotel. Everything you need for an extended stay. Located in an area with plenty of places to eat as well. The hotel allows pets which is a plus as many places don’t. You have the option to pay for faster internet(roughly $ 5) or free wifi that isn’t the best quality. The beds are decent but could be softer. If your into a firm mattress then you’ll be in heaven. The pool isn’t very big and seems to always be packed with kids. You not going to enjoy an evening lounge by the pool. On the whole, a nice place I would stay in again. For the price, you certainly get your money’s worth.

Great Hotel. Clean, Non-smoking facility, well apportioned, free coffee 24/7, free parking, laundry facilities, outdoor pool, small workout room, outdoor BBQ patio, friendly staff, generous breakfast buffet, nice suites! About a 10 minute ride to the FQ(we had a car), nice shopping center next door w/Kmart, Old Navy, Starbucks, Home Depot, IMAX Theater & LeMadeline French bakery. Only gripes — the carpets in the hallway were stained(like need to be replaced, too many stains to just need a cleaning — not sticky & gross, just noticeably discolored) & bathroom in suite was not ensuite. Very nice stay, would definitely come back & recommend to others.

Nice, spacious rooms, friendly staff and a good Continental breakfast. But why no shuttle service to the French Quarter and other areas of interest? Good luck getting a cab to come out to pick you up from this hotel, which is farther from the FQ than the 7-ish miles listed on its website. The dismay on our cab drivers’ faces when we caught them in the FQ at night and told them where we were going became(almost) comical toward the end of our recent 4-day stay. If this is your hotel, seriously consider getting a rental car … or prepare yourself for spending lots of wasted time waiting for/calling and re-calling cabs.

Stayed here during Mardi Gras. Although this is not the fanciest hotel around, the price, cleanliness, and friendliness of the staff surely made up for it. We had originally booked a suite with two bedrooms, one bathroom, and kitchenette. On the day of check-in our room was not going to be ready til after 3:00. They gave us connecting rooms, two baths, and two kitchenettes for the same price — and we were able to check in at 9:00 a.m. The breakfast was good with home made grits made by Doretha. She kept the place spotless and the food and coffee refilled. Even during Mardi Gras, the place was pretty quiet. Would definitely stay again!
