This is a rustic camp with a small lake and comfy cabins. Outdoor activities include hiking, canoeing, adventure course(definitely try the giant swim, archery, riflery, etc.). The cabins have bunk beds and bathrooms with showers. The cabins have heat during chilly weather. Our Sioux duplex cabin can house 12 people and has 1 bathroom and shower. It is about a 5 minute walk from our cabin to the dining hall. Dining hall food was very good… about the quality that you would get at diners. For the 2 nights that we spent at Camp Mason, we had: stuffed shells, meatball, bacon, scrambled eggs, bagels, chicken cutlet, Chinese chicken, pancakes, sausage, and pizza. Food was plentiful — fruits, a salad bar as well as tuna salad and PB&J are always available for picky eaters. The dining hall sits right next to the lake so you can enjoy your cup of tea or coffee while sitting on the benches outside the dining hall. The kids had a wonderful time at Camp Mason and they can’t wait to go back for another weekend!

Cabins are nice and spacious. It’s summer time and I was just hoping that the screen windows are always checked and make sure it’s not broken so we can open our windows without insects coming in, especially at night. I get it, it’s a camp but there’s spiders and bugs already inside and we don’t need more crawlers while we sleep. The employees are great and very professional, the food was … Ok. But we survived

This is the most fun I have ever had camping with my kids. There are so many activities you can hardly get to all of them. The staff is so friendly, the cabins are rustic but comfortable enough. The food is camp food. Bleh. But it is all part of the experience. We are on our fifth year here and can not wait for a sixth.

two summers ago we decided to send the youngest unlucky to boot camp.(just kidding) two summers ago, the youngest unlucky begged us to let him go to sleep away camp. mr. unlucky was reluctant, whereas i was remembering the wonderful times, for the most part, i had at camp. mr. unlucky was finally convinced, and then the daunting task was upon us, a list of supplies he would need for the ensuing 2 weeks. the list was longer than the amount of stuff on a purchases receipt from costco– i swear the list was sooooooo long that it stretched from brooklyn ny to hardwick nj. and then some. thanks to my insightful friends m&j, who’s son had attended the previous year, i was forewarned to send the rattiest clothes, sheets, towels. i bought the pre-stamped postcards on the list, hoping to get at least a few notes about how much he missed us and how much fun he was having! he had such a great time that he didn’t send us even one postcard. and upon his return i committed the grievous error of opening his laundry bag indoors– stinky, wet, moldy, muddy are the euphemisms that come to mind…
