Do NOT go here for piercings! I went in to have a ball screwed back on to my snug piercing that used a curved barbell. The shop owner was very nice, however the piercer was scatter brained, kept dropping the jewelry and complaining about how much she works and when she has a day off it throws her into whack. My piercing had not healed up and there were two distinct holes, I just needed the ball screwed back on. The piercer inserted my jewelry and said it had healed up really fast and before I knew it she had poked a new hole WITHTHEJEWELRY in the back of my ear creating a whole new piercing. Although she felt awful and re-inserted the jewelry into the correct piercing holes, I had a hole in the back of my ear and the shop did not even have a bandaid I could put on it. She comped the cost but the fact is, I got a hole punched in the back of my ear with a piece of jewelry I did not ask for or expect. A professional piercer should know what every piercing is and if not, ask.

I wont go back. They don’t do appointments so all the work is rushed. You get what you pay for, they have decent prices but it reflects in their work.

I came here to get my very first tattoo. That was a mistake. A few days after I got it I was in the emergency because it was infecting my whole back. I went back to the shop and they said it was my blood, while the doctor was telling me it was the shop. Since then I’ve gotten two more bigger tattoos. Not one problem with either of them. I would never recommend this tattoo stop for anyone. I have scars that can only be fixed with surgery due to them.

I have been going to The Tattoo Studio since 2006. I love going there it’s like I’m part of a family when I walk through the door. I’ve had numerous tattoos and had two piercings done here. Now I have to say I have been to other shops and gotten tattoos else where just to see what Killeen/Harker Heights had to offer but I found that the BEST work I’ve ever gotten was at The Tattoo Studio. They are very professional and it is a clean and sanitary. They always show you the equipment they are using and show that it had either been sanitized in the autoclave or is brand new and never used. Everything is always sealed when it is shown to you so you know your free from worry. The artwork that comes out of there from being on paper to your skin is perfect! The owner Kevin is one of the nicest and most professional artist I’ve ever worked with. Chris is amazing as well. I’ve gotten tattoos from both. They aim to please so if for some reason you have a request after they have finished they will do whatever it take to make you happy with their work. Also you get free touch ups to any of there work at anytime for the lifetime of the tattoos they do! I have people that stop me all the time asking where I get my ink done and I just hand them a business card which I carry with me everywhere I go. If you are looking for a good shop with reasonable prices look no further than here! One last thing the other shops I have been to were rude and unprofessional. But if you chose to go else where be prepared to be disappointed.

I walked into this tattoo studio during my surveying of the local tattoo shops in my immediate area. I found some few decent shops, a couple actually good ones but most of my time was occupied at tattoo shops like this one. There are bad tattoo shops and there are bad tattoo artists, but when you get those two together you get the likes of «The Tattoo Studio». This place looked like it was constructed out of paper mâché, with some dated flash on the walls and what looked like an old dinner counter as their workspace. I looked through some of their sample work so as to not be rude, but had my pupils violated by page after page of mediocre to amateurish to even some obscenely bad tattoo work. I would stake my reputation on the fact that my 7th grade art class could draw pictures around them. These are 11 – 12 year olds that are not licensed to hold a vibrating needle to someone’s skin and do not get paid for such a disservice. I was absolutely horrified that these people would call themselves professional tattoo artist, horrified that they would advertise their work for all to see right in their front lobby, and I’m assuming these were the best of the lot, but I was way more horrified that there was a woman slumped over a massage chair letting one of these trade school dropouts jab a needle in her back side. I would like to understand why that lady is allowing herself to be permanently marked by this no talent kid who reeks of weed and alcohol, or why there are more people in the lobby looking at the pictures and seriously considering giving them money for this mutilation. But it doesn’t stop there, more are in the parking lot, more will come in this weekend and more have been coming for the last few months and years maybe, but why? Are these people really that stupid? Are they blind? Is this the only $ 1.50 tattoo in town? Is that it? Nope, got a quote of $ 250 for a 1 hour piece on my forearm. I was shocked and again confused, these tattoos aren’t cheap, a $ 250 hour tattoo is expensive, it is also big, colorful, detailed, and well done. The tattoos coming out of this place are neither. I don’t know how to close this review, I don’t know if I should tell you to stay away, since people crowd their shop anyways, I don’t know If I should tell you to do what you feel is right for you, if I tell you that and you go in there, I am paying you a disservice. I know what quality tattoos look like, and I would hope that most of you do as well, but this place is horrible, the talent is non-existing, the shop looks like crap, the permanent garbage people are getting littered with is more expensive than what you would get from a tested and true tattoo artist, and finally, when you have that many people willingly and knowingly putting low caliber work on someone’s skin, work they themselves KNOW is bad, that is a dishonest place full of dishonest people who are out to make every single penny they can before the steam runs out and they have to change their name and move into a new shop. Don’t make a mistake, at least don’t make it here. There are hundreds of tattoo shops in the surrounding area. Don’t be in a hurry and don’t settle for the cheapest or closest shop. Take your time do your recon, look at different shops, look at their work, get word of mouth, get quotes, but most importantly, get the tattoo YOU want, have it represent your vision and not the artists. It’s your money, it’s your skin, and it’s your choice, chose wisely.

Since this was my first tattoo, I can’t compare my experience here to experiences elsewhere, but I have to say that I was very impressed. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. Chris was the artist that did my tattoo and I’m pleased with the work he did. He’s very professional. He took the time to explain the process to me and showed me the equipment that he’d be using. He talked with my wife and myself while he was doing the work and we enjoyed that. And the end result was exactly what I wanted. On a side note: my wife was wanting to get a tattoo as well. While my design was pretty straightforward, hers required piecing together elements from a few different designs. The staff was really helpful in creating the design elements, the font, and the arrangement that she was looking for. But in the end, she decided to postpone getting the work done until Fall because she couldn’t stand the thought of having to stay out of the pool, even for a few weeks. The staff was cool with that and offered to file the design away for when she decided the time was right. More professionalism. So, long story short: yes, I would recommend The Tattoo Studio to others and yes, I do plan on going there for future tattoo work.
