The Stohr Haus Bakery

Wandered in today for the first time. My wife and I were blown away! The quiche was amazing, and the cinnamon rolls were fantastic! But, maybe the best part was the garden seating available. It was our own private garden dining experience. We’ll be back!

I can’t even tell you how delicious the cinnamon rolls are here. I actually have waited a long time to write this review because I have a hard enough time getting a cinnamon roll and selfishly didn’t want to tell my fellow Unilocalers just how good they are. They are made with flaky croissant dough and the bottoms are just a little crispy from the butter and sugar carmelizing in the bottom. No thick gloppy white icing here. These things couldn’t need it less. They are little bits of heaven. Be forewarned they are cash only so make sure you come prepared. I know they also do fiesta Fridays and serve tacos occasionally. I’ve honestly never even tried anything else here because I just can’t make it past those cinnamon rolls! They have odd hours and I always call before I leave the house to make sure they still have cinnamon rolls because they definitely do run out! Support our local bakery!

I ambled in here this afternoon while I was on a mission to spend a lovely afternoon re-​discovering the historic Harmony borough. It was only about 15 minutes before closing, but I didn’t feel rushed or pressured to buy and get going at all. They also kindly let me snap lots of photos after I bought my delicious-​looking bag of house made granola. (The pastry case looked inviting, but I had a huge breakfast.) This bakery, which is simply referred to as «The Bakery» by locals, was actually the site of the original store house for the Harmonists who settled the village. The owner and/​or her daughter lives above it in this beautiful historically restored house. It’s just a couple minutes’ drive off of Rt. 19 passing through Zelienople and definitely worth a visit.

This bakery is tucked away in the historic district of Harmony Pa near Zelienople. It is the best pastry shoppe I have come across since crossing the Mississipi river moving east! It has charm & unique variety all delicious! Check it out and the little town around it!
