Town of Harmony

This is a cute little town off of Hwy 1. It’s worth the trip to stop and see this little gem! They have a glass blowing place where one can watch live glass blowing happening. The little chapel is gorgeous! The bride’s room next to it is also cute and charmingly decorated! On our most recent visit, there has been new developments and looks like there’s a plan to build and beautify this little town. I can’t wait for that to happen and see it! There’s also a pottery store in this little town! And a wine cellar offering wine tastings. Make the trip and see this little town! You won’t be disappointed!

We frequent Harmony every single year for a family event. this year we were unpleasantly surprised.
Harmony Café was the downfall of our trip there. We asked for a machiatto (which is on their menu) and they asked us if we want it Starbucks style or classic? I am not sure what that means, but when we asked what the difference was, they did not seem happy to answer it. Between the 4 of us that were in there, we all ordered our drinks. I got the first drink and decided to walk over to their small sitting room, when in there I noticed a record player that had gotten to the end of the record. So I picked up the needle and placed it on the beginning to listen to some old classic music. not a minute later the owner comes in and ask me not to touch it. WOW really? Why would you have a record player out with records hanging out if you don’t want anyone to touch it? I then was upset and went in to have my drink put in a to go container because the owner made me feel uncomfortable. When I walked in the main area, they were short one drink and when we asked about it they denied that we ordered four drinks (even though there were 4 of us). We were fed up and decided to walk out. I then noticed the owner was in the small side room alone and felt I would want to confront him away from his customers. I simply explained I had a bad experience that I had never had while visiting Harmony. When I first started explaining it he cut me off and pointed out the door.
The owner is a terrible business owner and I will no longer support Harmony Café. I don’t know where they went wrong but they have gone the wrong direction.
Overall I enjoy going to Harmony to take pictures and I love watching the glass blowing, unfortunately I guess today was not my day.
In the end, I hope this owner can be a customer advocate and learn that taking care of his customers is always important. Please don’t make me feel uncomfortable. (I guess I will never know as I will never go back to Harmony Café)

Harmony Café is a little known treat– frequented by locals– run by an authentic Italian chef. Weekend diners must be reserved at least 2 weeks in advance… Sunday afternoon lunch is like a visit to Italy

A pleasant roadside stop… A sort of trip back in time into an artistic retreat. Delightful shops for pottery, glass, and garden.
So when next you travel along Hwy 1, take a little time to stop and enjoy the peace and quiet of this timeless little town.
