I just bought a new bed, some furniture and other items at this Macy’s this week. Everyone was helpful. EVERYONE! Security was on the ball and the place was clean and ordered. I will continue to shop there. I was in the bathroom. The TP was out and I said something vocal. Nothing crude, just«darn, out of paper.» I hear a mans voice say, do you need some paper? I said yes. He actually went to the next stall and grabbed me some emergency TP. I of course thanked him. Later I went to HR and told them of his helpfulness. It was his first day. Thank you man. Keep this store open. Sadly the basement and one of the other floors are closed. You have to use the elevators to get to the bathroom. The stores former glory is still there. I had an excellent experience.

The sales associates are always helpful and ask if you need help. I feel like the customer service at this Macy’s is superior to other locations. Their mens department is not quite as extensive as other Macy’s stores. I love that they do carry North Face in the women’s department. They are starting to condense some of the departments in the store. I hope that this Macy’s stays open as it is the only anchor store at Eastland mall.

I hate to leave only one star but I have to do it. I frequent this Macy’s quite often and i am not giving a bad review off of one visit but for my years of shopping here. Let me start of by saying I remember the story’s my grandma used to tell me on how going to Macy’s was a grand affair and they had a wonderful restaurant and Maurice Salad. A place where you would dress up to go and buy furs and it truly was a treat. Now let me paint for you what your going to get now. You pull up to a pot hole parking lot with the parking lines so faded no one knows where to park. You will walk in and instantly be greeted by a security guard and trust me they need it.(Gunshots were fired one time an hour after I was there with my kids one afternoon.) You will come across some of the old time employees who have been there and truly try to hold the Macy’s feel of 40 years ago and then the new ones who are rude and could care less. Now the inventory is sad. Once a 4 story Macys is now consolidated and squeezed info two floors. They got rid of the food and deli as well as all chocolate. Its time to close the doors and walk away while you can. This place is a lost cause. The theft there is to the point where every customer who is not stealing is a undercover security guard with a ear piece.(Yes you are that obvious.) Dont ruin it for yourself. Go out of your way to at least Lakeside this place is very sad and unfortunately very unsafe.
