What a lovely proprietor! We walker in on a rainy day to be greeted by the lovely and knowledgeable owner Mr John. He was absolutely delightful. His knowledge of wines, beers their appropriate pairings seemed never ending. He was a good sport, had a good sense of humor and everything you want when dealing with a spirited spirits proprietor Black Sheep Wine Shop has a wonderful selection of both local authentic wines meads and beers for the budget conscience. A mid range for those a little more daring and high brow for thosewith something to celebrate or just feeling high in the brow. A lovely selection of cheeses, crackers and salami can even inspire an impromptu picnic for those looking to put«their toes in the water, a$$ in the sand Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand». Whatever you do just be sure to hit Black Sheep Wine Shop before you do anything else!!!

Although small, the Black Sheep has a great selection of wine and beer that you cannot find anywhere else on the island. Proprietor was very friendly and helpful.(Also has a variety of homemade candies for those with a sweet tooth.)

fyi, you can get sloshed without a drive to town and on fancy tipple one wouldn’t think to find in these boonies. from familiar imports, obscure craft beers to brow raising Jura(in the middle of nowhere Harpswell!). suitably impressed, went for mead from Maine(honey wine i’ve only read of in Ken Follet medieval England novels) and Kriek, a favorite Belgian lambic. a primo house specialty, Mrs Sheep’s handmade chocolates.

This is a tiny store, but they have a nice selection of wines, including local wines, as well as craft and local beers. The proprietor is very helpful without being overly intrusive. For the kids there is a fun selection of candy in glass jars at the front, and they also sell a few hors d’oeuvres for the adults. This is our go-to wine shop when we visit the Brunswick area, a friendly local business we like to support!

This is a very small shop, looks like it is off of the owner’s garage(as many small businesses are in this part of Maine). They had a decent assortment but probably not the 650 like the sign says. The owner answered my questions but wasn’t overly service oriented for us probably being the only customers of the day. We bought a couple of Maine wines to bring home with us.

I think that this place is great. I love their Maine specialties and their growing craft and import beer selection. The owners are super friendly and funny and enjoyable to talk to when I visit. Harpswell is a beautiful town and worth a visit on your way back from the Black Sheep Wine Shop.

I just love this place. The owners taste in wine parallels mine well enough that most recommendations they make will be a big hit. They have great monthly tastings that make for a fine afternoon outing. Friendly people and good conversations during the tastings — all free — along with some laughs. Problem is, we always buy after we try, but at least we know what to expect when we open a bottle at home. Always a treat to visit! Did I mention they also sell chocolate and cheeze? My other fav food groups.
