This place is wonderful– from the appetizer to the main course all delicious! Four of us went for dinner and we all enjoyed everything. Big portions, great flavor and friendly service. Will be back again when in town. Italian Cream Cake going home with me for later.

Living in Harriman for years, there’s not a more overrated restaurant than Gondolier in the area.(Mainly because all of the high schoolers go here after school, before games, after games, etc.) You usually get great service and can end up not spending your entire wallet here, but the food is just alright for the mid-high prices they charge. You get served free breadsticks and marinara which are both actually good. But the main entrees are hit or miss. The pizza is usually a safe go to along with the Caesar salad if you are into that. Most of the dinners are served drenched in some type of designated sauce though and sometimes should be called soup instead of pasta. The one thing this place has that others don’t is their extensive cake list which get delivered from a bakery about an hour down the road. The white chocolate raspberry is to die for!

This was the worst food i’ve ever eaten in my life. I am from new jersey and I’m use to having good Italian food, my daughter ordered a calzone and it had so much pepperoni in it she couldn’t even eat it, it was very greasy and it just tasted like it came out of a box. My son ordered a veal pasta and mushroom gravy dinner and it was so rancid it tasted like it was found in the garbage. My wife ordered a personal pizza which tasted frozen itself. Finally I ordered a Swiss mushroom burger and when it came to me the fries were soggy and the burger fell apart in my hands I could not even finish it, was nothing but mush.

We recently stayed around the Watts Bar Lake area for a wedding. Since we were leaving around lunchtime on a Sunday, we decided to try this little restaurant. For starters, a basket of nice soft, warm breadsticks with red dipping sauce(marinara, I assume) was brought to our table. I could have kept eating those but stopped after three, knowing I wanted to be able to enjoy my gyro(pronounced YEER-oh, if you’re unfamiliar with this Greek version of a fast food sandwich). The gyro was very filling with, I believe beef and lamb, tomato, lettuce and onion rolled inside a pita. The tzatziki sauce was on the side. It was very tasty and I added it to my gyro with each bite! The order also included fries(nice and warm, not soggy) and a pickle spear. My two little ones split a kid’s cheese pizza which looked good, but I didn’t try it. My Italian-raised, NY born mother-in-law had the Greek salad which, I’m assuming, she enjoyed after she got some Italian dressing for it. Her salad came without anything because she asked my husband and her husband to put in her order while she ran out to our vehicle for a baby bib. She told the men to order a salad for her, the server didn’t ask for her choice of dressing, the men didn’t think of it and so on. Of course, after they all got done throwing each other under the bus(except for the server for forgetting to ask – who’s on first? LOL), she finally asked for her dressing. Anyway, thank goodness we got there at 12:15. By the time we left, the lunch crowd line was out the door but with only a 10 minute wait. Not bad! Service was pretty efficient as well.(Forgot to add this review which I had written back in April 2013.)

For a bit of local flavor, it’s hard to get a more distinct Harriman vibe than at Gondolier. I get the sense this is probably the go-to hangout around here. There is a lot of charm, but Jesus, methinks frequent visits here would put me in an early grave. I came in here craving pasta, but I didn’t want something too heavy. So, although the Chicken Alfredo sounded very tempting, I thought I would stay lighter with the Chicken Linguine, which was supposed to come a «dash» of wine & lemon sauce. Well, you can imagine my surprise when I was served what appeared to be a giant bowl of chicken noodle soup. This was no «dash»; this was presumably 3 sticks of melted butter with olive oil and white wine. I will admit I had a panicked moment at this point, wondering if I should have just played it safe with a calzone. Fortunately, it was quite tasty(hard to go wrong with aforementioned three sticks of butter)…but it was certainly no lighter than the alfredo option would have been. Some pluses, though… its cheap, and some of the waitresses are charming(although I was mildly shirked by the woman at the cash register). There are certainly worse options for an I-40 stopover.

I just moved here to this area from Nashville and I have found my new favorite place to eat!!! No matter if I’m in the mood for Greek, Italion, a hot sub sandwhich or a fresh made salad, this place is great!!! Everyone from the hostess to the servers were very friendly and accommodating! I thought I was going to have to go without some of my favorites when I moved here like Gyro pita sandwhich’s, homemade white pizza’s, an chicken Picatta, with large servings too, but I have been proven wrong to my delight! And to top it off, they have very impressive an original fresh baked cakes an pies that would put any bakery to shame! Can u tell I like this place, lol! Keep up the good work guys, an I look foreward to my next meal!

We went around 4:00 pm. We were given a table in the middle of the restaurant without being asked if we wanted a booth. They had fresh bread on the table quickly. The food wasn’t anything impressive. The waitress started coming over about 5 minutes after we got our food and asked if we wanted to take the food with us, 5 minutes later the same thing, then again basically harassing us to leave. We were dressed nicely, not causing any problem and only wanted to enjoy our food but we didn’t feel welcome there at all.

Actually, really good food for a chain restaurant. The best Gondiler I have eaten at. The pizza is great, better than dominos or papa johns. Their hot sub are really good as well!

Desperately looking for open restaurant. Found this in Krogers shopping center just off I-40 exit 350. Really surprised to find a section of white pizzas on the menu. I ordered a small white spinach and feta cheese for only $ 8. The first one came with tomato sauce. I had thought it strange to find white pizza in east Tennessee, but I sent it back and asked for one with no red sauce. It was OK, Just OK. I also was desperately looking for a glass of wine and this place is dry. Meh.
