Holy cannoli. The cannolis here are fantastic, cream-filled wonders. Dusted with powdered sugar and garnished with chocolate chips you get just enough sweetness and flavor in each bite. Apparently, this spot has even been shown on several TV and news features for their famous cannolis. I believe it. But the signature treat here is actually the merri-mac tea cake which has been around since the bakery was founded, apparently. It’s basically a shortbread cookie with fondant. I can’t say that I loved it. I think it would be much better without so much fondant. I scraped it off then scarfed it down. The owner just completed renovations and is working on the second floor now. If you have some time, peruse the pics on the wall and take in the history. Apparently these treats have been around as the very first bakery in town.
