This place is the real deal. We have been coming here for a decade and have never had a bad meal here. Some of our favorites here are the Green Mussels, the Rainbow Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, uh, pretty much the WHOLE menu. Yeah. If you like your sushi raw, ask for the fluke sashimi«California style” — I’ve never been anywhere else that had this delicious treat. They now have a full bar available which is nice. The place may not look like much, but Tommy and his staff make up for the simple décor with fresh ingredients and amazing culinary skills.

This is my favorite place to go for sushi in the Harrisburg area. It doesn’t really look like much on the inside OR the outside, but the quality of the food has always been very good and presentation always neat. The BEST place to go for green mussels I have found. Pricing is average for a sushi restaurant. Worth a visit!

A total dive in a not very nice neighborhood, but convenient to 83. Stopped on our way to Hershey for a concert. Tables were dirty and the service was slower than slow. On to the food… Miso soup average at best Green Muscles good but only 2 on the order Tuna Sashimi appetizer fresh but no rice just raw Tuna Ordered 3 rolls Dynamite Roll– delicious Unagi Roll also good Shrimp Tempura Roll came covered in Roe… He reluctantly took it back and remade it. Otherwise delicious Overall not bad but not a winner by any means

My wife and I took some friends out to dinner since they absolutely LOVE Fuji Do and were raving about the place. Arriving at 8:00 on a Friday night, all of the tables were empty except for a few people seated at the sushi bar. The food was okay. Not much in the way of ambience. Very tiny parking lot in the front of the building. Three stars. I prefer Miso.

The best sushi in the area– east or west shore. Try the hot bowl, TNT, fuji special and mussels. Not the most upscale place, more of a dive but the food is by far the best.

I do love saying, «I’m going to(deepen voice) … FUJIDO!» And not just because it sounds cool. It IS cool. A combination grocery store/bar/sushi joint, you can’t complain about it being typical. I love Tokyo Diner because of its AYCE. But if you’re going to get high-end sushi, this is probably the best in the Harrisburg area. You’ll pay around $ 10 for the best rolls, but they will be worth it. The $ 12.95 Millennium Roll(smoked eel, salmon, cream cheese, crab, fried w/scallop) is memorable. You should go there at least once and knock back some great sushi with a Japanese beer.

We love the sushi here. The green mussels are delicious. We’ve never ordered something here that we haven’t loved. The owner and all the staff are always extremely nice. Overall always a very nice experience.

Excellent Sushi just like Sakura Do!!! We came to Harrisburg and decided to try the Sushi of Fuji Do knowing that is own by Tuan’s brother. It is a little bigger place and as good. I liked it all! Very friendly!

It’s been a couple weeks since we’ve been here. We stopped by on our way as we were traveling up north for thanksgiving. We had been here about 4 years ago and thought we’d try it again because of it’s location to the highway. Last time was pretty good. This time not so much. In fact we will never go back again. The food was mediocere and as we were walking out, the front bar was just nasty. Save your money and go somewhere else where you don’t have to worry about possibly getting that sick feeling in your stomach!

I feel lead astray by the Unilocal reviews for this place. Driving up to the place it looks horrid and dirty, not somewhere you would want to eat a raw piece of celery, let alone fish. I kept an open mind and went in. I ordered a roll to go and it was OK, but not good defiantly not anything to rave about. Honestly I would rather eat sushi from Wegmans than from here.

Because I am «stuck» in Central PA and there are no HEALTHY places to eat at all and the best place to CELEBRATE accomplishments or birthdays is the olive garden or Longhorn steakhouse, I am basing my 5 stars on the fact that there is NOTHING here in this dump town worth Raving about. All that being said, The first time my cousin and I stopped in for sushi here we drove by it like 3 times until we realized it was a dumpy looking building on the corner in a questionable area of town. We got out of the car and the aromatic wafting smell of rotten roadkill took over my senses and I wanted to run, RUN back to the car. Other people have recommended this place very highly so we persevered onward and stepped inside. It’s kinda a cross between a bar and pizza shop with regulars that seems to know everyone in a «NORM!!!» type of atmosphere. The service is very good unless you pick a busy time because I think they are a family run place and refuse to get the girl any help. She is very friendly. Full disclosure I have only ever ordered the sushi. TNT, Dragon, Rainbow, Spicy tuna(uses big chunks of tuna not all mayo) Having eaten at Morimoto in Philly and having eaten some of the best sushi I have placed upon my tongue, this place is a comparable«generic» if I may. I usually base my sushi on a 5 scale. 1– can’t eat it, send it back, something is wrong with this fish. 2– Not awesome, but I’m starving, won’t be coming back not worth it. 3– eh– ok. If there is nothing better it will do but takes the craving away. 4– great sushi, soothes the craving, enjoyable taste, pleasant experience 5– Best sushi I have ever eaten. Now this being said, I give this place 5 stars because it’s the best I have ever eaten in the area and it actually is pretty good. As for the person above who ordered the cooked veggies??? Go to a chinese or thai restaurant, you go to a sushi restaurant FORSUSHI!!! since you eat it anyway. Has anyone ordered something cooked from a tiny sushi shop and enjoyed it? Get serious lady. Go to this place, order the sushi and enjoy it. Their hours are weird which sometimes forces you to go to Sapporo… but NEVERZEN and NEVERNEVER tokyo diner(the hibachi place) =P*

So I continue my search for good sushi around here. Unfortunately, I’ll still be searching. This place was empty around 6pm on a weekday. Grabbed a few rolls and hesitantly waited. And then I saw soggy rice and what looked like crispy fresh fish? Ohh noo, here we go again. Still searching.

Do not, I repeat, DONOT order the Vegetable Lunch Special at lunch(or any time), that is, unless, you LOVE onions. My plate showed up consisting of ½ onions and a mixture of squash and leathery carrots! The rice came out ten minutes later and, by then, the crap mentioned above had turned ice cold. I’ve never refused a meal until tonight. No, just… no! You cannot serve someone a plate of grilled onions with some other stuff mixed in, call it «vegetables», ANDTHEN bring the rice out ten minutes later. Here’s the perplexing part: I ordered the worst meal ever, and was then served surprisingly good sushi in it’s place. As someone else mentioned, the service was really slow; there was only one server running the whole place. She was very nice and asked me what else I wanted, and fifteen minutes later, brought me a great tuna hand roll. It was fresh, assembled to perfection and is the only reason why I’m giving Fuji Do two stars. So, was the experience a total wash? No. Would I go back? No. I think they know what’s up when it comes to sushi, but can’t work a wok to save anyone’s life. My advice: order the sushi, order the beer… but anything cooked? Steer clear! If I owned this place, I’d brand and promote it as a sushi joint and ditch the rest of the [poorly designed, confusing and foul-tasting] menu. Fuji Do? Fuji DON’T!

My wife wanted sushi for her birthday, so I mentioned some favorable reviews on Unilocal and since we planned a trip to my Dad’s place right down the road we were able to kill two birds with one stone. It is not much to look at on the outside, but not the worst exterior either it just looks like it belongs in the city. I guess that is why I haven’t had the pleasure before –too much judging a book by its cover maybe. We got the number and looked over the menu from the website and called it after visiting my Dad and Grandma. The ordering was simple and I walked in to a totally empty restaurant except for the workers. the bar is as you walk in and the restaurant is to the left with the sushi bar up the steps. They had some blowfish hanging from the ceiling so I asked if I could take a pic and they told me” sure, come over and get a close up”. I noticed this huge fish mounted on the wall and they told me about how the meat was eaten and then it was dried for taxidermy. I was happy to chat and they were really friendly –A+ I put the food in the car and headed home. My wife and I drank our Miso soups since it was put in styrofoam cups for take out and since I hadn’t eaten for hours it was the most delicious soup I ever tasted at that moment –lots of flavor and not bland at all with the tofu having a slightly soft consistency and was delightful on the palate. The seaweed was herbal and slightly salty which reminded me of a seaweed beer and got me thinking about doing a homebrewed version. We did get about 5 sushi rolls and the price was fair with the presentation very appealing especially the bright red roe on the Quatro Amigos roll. We got the Millenium roll, rainbow roll and Boston roll along with California roll and the fish was great. The best was the millenium with slight fried texture and smooth delicate topping. The rice was sticky and not overcooked with a lot of flavor even in the california roll. I devoured the first piece before my wife sat down. I enjoyed the whole array of sushi and mentioned to my wife how we didn’t get the TNT even though it was recommended — hey there is always next time ;)

What can I say, this is my favorite little Harrisburg sushi place! The sushi and sashimi are great, and the price is right too. The place isn’t the most attractive inside or out so I can’t recommended it for a special occasion. We have ate there maybe 4 or 5 times and got take out 3 times. We are very pleased with the food and service and will continue to visit Fuji Do for a casual sushi dining experience.

I’ve been going to Fuji Do for close to 6 years now, in that time I have seen it go from the little shop down the road, into what it is today. Tommy, Tuan, Toby and the rest of the gang are always able to provide excellent rolls and great recommendations. Whenever I go I always put a note in the bottom right hand corner that says«1– Chefs Choice Roll» This always yields a surprise that tastes great. Some of my highly recommended items in no order would be, Tuan Special, Fuji Special, Wild Desert, Fuji Bomb, New Zealand Green Mussels, Spicy Crab Bowl(not on the menu). I really don’t care too much about the state of things, all that matters to me is the taste of whats in front of me, and most of it is fantastic.

Why did it take me so long to go to Fuji Do? Well … I pass by here weekly and it always looked closed! I finally went with someone who goes there a lot and man … I am hooked! Yes, the parking lot is a little strange and the interior is not fancy … but I have risen over more difficult obstacles in my quest for tasty cuisine. My favorite is the TNT roll and because my lunch companion and I were sharing … got the 7⁄10 hotness level. When I go back solo … I am going full scale 10. Oh TNT roll … you have won my heart … salmon and tuna and roe roll sushi … flash fried and served crispy with a sweet and a spicy sauce(oops, wiping drool off keyboard). We also had the B52 roll(salmon/tuna and eel?), green mussels(YUM … with roe, mayo and sauce served in the shell), edamame and smoked salmon sushi ala carte. I was disappointed because Fuji Do was out of ikura, though :-(but I left perfectly full. We sat at the bar which afforded us prompt attention. But on the down side, you get to see everything getting prepared and I did suffer from the ‘eyes too big for my stomach’ syndrome. It is definitely a bit on the pricey side for Harrisburg, but until I find better, I will continue to head here for my sushi fix.

I ate here a few days ago with some friends. They raved about it. Sure, it’s in a crummy location, and is kinda… blah inside. But the rolls, they claimed, were delicious. I got two rolls, Eel 52, and a dragon roll. The dragon roll was very nicely displayed and tasted yummy. I didn’t like the Eel 52… in fact, the eel tasted kinda funny on that one. I finished it, though, because I was starving. …and regretted it a few hours later when my stomach felt like it was going to explode. I dunno if the eel really was bad, or what… but I didn’t feel so well. The owner’s kids were running around the whole time… with squirt guns. I hoped that they weren’t actually filled with water. Well, when I stood up to leave, I found out… they were. The little brat squirted me in the forehead… and on my back. I didn’t yell at him or anything… just walked away. Little kids do things like that – I just don’t appreciate getting squirted with water at a restaurant. *sigh*
